"Believe me. I'm not lying. I honestly don't know who the individual was," Jacob attempted to persuade.
He knew it was unbelievable, but it was the truth. He had never seen that person and had only contacted him a few times before discovering the contact card with a message on it.
When Jonathan didn't remain unfazed, Jacob remembered something and swiftly dug into his pocket, pulling out the card.
"Here, this is what I was given," he replied, passing him the card, and Jonathan began to read it.
"A card with no name and only a contact number. Interesting," he said, flipping it around to reveal a message scribbled on it.
'Contact me if you ever consider destroying Jonathan Miller.' Jonathan's eyebrows furrowed as he read those words.
"Bastard," he cursed as his grasp on the card tightened, crushing it.
