Chapter 153: The Weight of Resurrection

The bustling streets of the Hidden Leaf Village were alive with activity as Malik found himself being dragged along by Ino Yamanaka. Her grip was firm, and her pace was unrelenting as she pulled him through the familiar paths toward their destination.

"We're going to be late!" Ino exclaimed, glancing back at Malik with a mix of urgency and excitement.

Malik, though trying to keep up, couldn't help but chuckle at her enthusiasm. "Alright, alright, I'm coming. But you know I'm not exactly built for sprinting through the village."

Ino shot him a playful glare, "Don't blame your size on me! Just move those feet faster, Malik."

Before long, they arrived at Yakiniku Q, the iconic restaurant known for its delicious grilled meats and the warm, communal atmosphere it provided. The familiar scent of sizzling meat wafted through the air, making Malik's stomach rumble in anticipation.

Ino led Malik inside, weaving through the tables and patrons until they reached a booth where Team 10 was already seated. Shikamaru Nara, Chōji Akimichi, and their sensei, Asuma Sarutobi, were in the middle of a conversation, but they all looked up as Ino and Malik approached.

"Sorry we're late!" Ino chimed as she slid into the booth next to Shikamaru. Malik followed, settling in beside her.

Shikamaru gave them a lazy wave, his usual calm demeanor in place. "No worries. We were just getting started."

Asuma, ever the observant sensei, grinned at Malik. "Glad you could join us, Malik. You might've saved my wallet tonight."

Malik laughed, a hearty sound that matched his warm demeanor. "Don't worry about that, Asuma-sensei. I'm covering everything tonight. Consider it my way of congratulating Shikamaru."

Chōji's eyes lit up at the mention of free food, and even Shikamaru couldn't suppress a small smile of appreciation. "Thanks, Malik," Shikamaru said, his tone sincere.

With the group assembled, they began to order an array of dishes. The table quickly filled with plates of premium cuts of meat, vegetables, and a variety of sauces. Asuma, ever the father figure, turned to Chōji with a knowing look.

"Chōji, remember to take it easy on the food and focus on your training," Asuma said with a tone that was both gentle and firm.

Chōji pouted slightly, his hand pausing over a particularly large piece of beef. "But it's so good, Sensei…"

Shikamaru, ever the peacemaker, chimed in. "It's fine, Chōji. Just be yourself. You don't have to change for anyone."

Ino, however, wasn't as forgiving. She glared at Chōji's plate and nearly snapped, "Chōji, you really should be more mindful of what you eat."

Shikamaru gave her a sideways glance, his eyebrow raised. "You're one to talk, Ino. Haven't you been dieting just to stay slim?"

Ino huffed, flicking her hair back with a slight air of indignation. "It's different! I'm trying to stay attractive!"

Shikamaru smirked. "Oh? And how's that any different from what Chōji's doing?"

Before Ino could retort, Malik jumped in with a grin. "Don't worry about it, Ino. I think you're perfect just the way you are. And Chōji, us big guys have to stick together, right?"

Chōji beamed at Malik's words, feeling an immediate kinship with him. "Right! We've got to enjoy life, too!"

As the conversation continued, Asuma leaned back, clearly enjoying the camaraderie between his students and their friend. There was something comforting about watching them bond, even as they playfully ribbed each other.

Malik, noticing Ino's slightly annoyed expression at the teasing, leaned in close to her ear. "You know, Ino, I love you no matter what. You could cut off all your hair, gain a couple of pounds, and I'd still think you're the most amazing woman in the world."

Ino's face softened at Malik's words, though she was clearly trying to hide her reaction. But then she caught the mischievous glint in his eyes, realizing where his thoughts had wandered. "Malik…" she started, her voice low.

Malik grinned sheepishly, knowing exactly what she was about to say. "What? It's just that if you did gain a little weight, it might make some things…you know…bigger."

Before he could say anything more, Ino playfully punched the back of his head, causing everyone at the table to burst into laughter. Even Ino couldn't help but giggle at his antics.

Shikamaru shook his head with a chuckle. "You two are something else."

As the laughter died down, the group continued to enjoy their meal, the atmosphere filled with warmth and friendship. Malik was grateful for moments like these—where life felt simple and the bonds between friends and loved ones were unshakable.

And as they laughed and ate together, Malik couldn't shake the thought that had been lingering in his mind since earlier that day.

As the celebration at Yakiniku Q drew to a close, Malik stood up, reaching into the air as if grasping something unseen. With a casual flick of his wrist, he materialized a small, ornate box from thin air and handed it to Shikamaru. The gesture was so smooth and nonchalant that it left the entire table momentarily speechless.

"What's this?" Shikamaru asked, his curiosity piqued as he accepted the box.

"Just a little something to help you with whatever comes next," Malik replied with a grin, his tone light but filled with genuine warmth.

Shikamaru carefully opened the box, his typically laid-back demeanor slipping away as his eyes widened in surprise. The inside of the box shimmered with the glint of a considerable sum of money, far more than he had ever expected. For a moment, he simply stared at the amount, his mind racing.

("How much money does Malik even have?") Shikamaru thought to himself, genuinely bewildered by the sheer generosity.

Meanwhile, Ino noticed the shock on Shikamaru's face and couldn't help but stick her tongue out playfully as she wrapped her arms around Malik's and began dragging him away. "Come on, Mr. Big Spender. Let's get out of here."

Malik chuckled as he allowed himself to be led away, casting a quick wave over his shoulder at the stunned faces of Team 10 before they exited the restaurant. The evening air was cool and refreshing, a pleasant contrast to the warm, smoky atmosphere of Yakiniku Q.

The pair strolled through the village in comfortable silence, their footsteps naturally leading them to a familiar park with a serene lake in the center. The silver glow of the moon reflected off the water's surface, casting an ethereal light over the entire area.

Malik glanced around, a fond smile spreading across his face as memories surfaced. "You know, this is where we had our first date."

Ino smiled back, her eyes softening with affection. "I remember. We sat right there," she said, pointing to a nearby bench that overlooked the lake. "Or maybe it's more of a large pond," she added with a teasing grin, echoing Malik's uncertainty.

They wandered over to the bench, the very same one where they had shared that first tentative moment of something more than friendship. As they sat down, Ino leaned into Malik, resting her head on his shoulder. The world around them seemed to quiet down, leaving just the two of them and the gentle lapping of the water against the shore.

Malik, feeling the warmth of Ino's presence, tightened his arm around her and pressed a soft kiss to her temple. "You know, Ino, I meant what I said earlier. You could look like anything—absolutely anything—and I would still love you."

Ino lifted her head slightly, meeting his gaze with a knowing smile. "I already know that, Malik. But you should know by now that I'm not dieting just to look good for you."

Malik's brow furrowed slightly in concern. "You don't really need to diet at all, though."

Ino shook her head gently, her expression patient. "I know that too. But it's not just about how I look. Keeping in shape is important to me as a kunoichi. It helps me stay strong, fast, and ready for whatever comes our way."

He nodded, understanding her perspective. "I get that. And I'll support you in anything you want to do, always."

Ino's smile turned soft as she reached up to brush a lock of his hair out of his eyes. "That's why I love you. You've always been supportive, no matter what. And Malik… you don't have to lose weight either. I'll love you just the way you are."

He chuckled, leaning in closer to her. "But you think I should consider it, huh?"

Ino's eyes sparkled with mischief as she leaned in to plant a kiss on his lips. "I'm saying that if you ever decide you want to, I'll be right there beside you. But if you don't, I'll still be right here, loving you just the same."

Malik sighed contentedly as they settled back into a comfortable silence, watching the gentle ripples on the lake's surface. The night was peaceful, the bond between them solid and unwavering. In that quiet moment, surrounded by the memories of their journey together.

The moon cast its silvery light across the park, illuminating the serene lake with a gentle glow. The silence was broken only by the occasional rustling of leaves and the distant laughter of other villagers enjoying the evening. Malik and Ino sat on the bench, their arms around each other, secure in the knowledge that they had found their perfect match.

Malik's thoughts drifted, "I also remember asking to see your panties here too, they were purple and frilly." Malik said, "I wonder what pair you're wearing today?"

Ino giggled softly, her breath warm against his neck. "They're pink and white today," she replied with a playful glint in her eye, "and yes, you remember correctly. You always did have a way with words." She leaned in closer, her lips brushing against his ear as she whispered, "Do you want to see?"

Malik's heart skipped a beat as Ino's words lingered in the air. The anticipation was almost unbearable, but he knew he had to play it cool. "Oh, I think I just might," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Ino pulled away slightly, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Then you'll have to catch me first," she said, standing up and darting off towards a nearby grove of trees.

Malik stood up and screened in his head, ("Not Again!"), before running after her, "Ino, I'm too fat to be chasing you but then again I really want to see them panties." Malik could hear her laughter as she dashed in front of him, luckily for him, she wasn't going her full speed. The moonlight flickered through the leaves above as Malik sprinted after Ino. Her laughter echoed through the park, filled with excitement and mischief. He could see her form darting between the trees, her movements graceful and agile despite the uneven terrain.

Malik pushed himself harder, his lungs burning as he closed the distance. Ino's laughter grew louder, encouraging him to keep chasing. Finally, he managed to catch up to her, panting heavily. She stood there, her eyes sparkling with amusement as she waited for him.

Before he could catch his breath, Ino's playful expression turned serious. "Malik," she said, her voice soft, "I want you to know that I truly appreciate you. You make me feel special, and I'm glad we found each other."

Malik felt a warmth spread through his chest, it was mostly from the running but also from her words. "Ino-Blossom, my love, I'm too fat and too rich to be running through a forest, but your my Sunflower, You're not just a beautiful Sunflower, Ino. Your strength and resilience inspire me every day."

Malik's heart swelled as he gazed into Ino's eyes, her words resonating deeply within him. The moonlight danced across her face, highlighting the sincerity in her expression.

Ino reached up to cup Malik's face, her touch tender and reassuring. "You know, I love how passionate you are about everything you do. It's one of the things that drew me to you," she said, her voice filled with genuine affection.

Malik smiled, his breath still labored from the chase. "I guess that's why I had to chase you," he teased, his voice light and playful once more.

Ino laughed, the sound like music in the still night air. "Well, I'm glad you did. It's moments like these that make me fall in love with you all over again." "But a deal is a deal, even if you let me catch you," he said sitting down on the grass, "Show me my prize,"

Malik leaned back on his hands, his breath still uneven from the exertion, but his eyes twinkled with anticipation. Ino glanced around, ensuring no one was nearby before she slowly lifted her skirt, revealing the delicate pink and white underwear that he had been so eager to see.

The soft fabric of her panties contrasted with the rough texture of the park grass, and as the moonlight bathed them, they shimmered like a promise. Malik's heart pounded, not just from the chase but from the intimate moment unfolding before him. Ino's cheeks flushed, a mix of shyness and excitement, and she let her skirt fall back down, the image of her underwear etched in Malik's mind.

"Happy now?" she asked, her voice a soft whisper that sent shivers down his spine. "Maybe a little but all that exercise got me a little dizzy, and only you sitting on my face will make me feel better, and get those panties on, please."

The park's quiet hummed around them, a gentle backdrop to the intimate moment unfolding. Ino's eyes widened at Malik's bold request, but there was a playful twinkle in them as she considered his words.

"Well," she said, her voice filled with a mix of amusement and curiosity, "I suppose I could make an exception." She carefully lowered herself onto Malik's face, her delicate scent enveloping him in an intimate cocoon.

Malik reveled in the softness of Ino's skin against his, the flutter of her breath, and the unique taste of her that he craved. His hands roamed up her legs, feeling the supple muscles and the tender skin. Ino's breath hitched as his touch sent shivers through her, her body responding instinctively to his skillful caresses.

Malik's fingers traced patterns on Ino's thighs, each touch sending a jolt of pleasure through her. Her heart pounded in her chest as she savored the moment, her earlier teasing now replaced by a deep connection. The world seemed to fade away as they became lost in each other, their breaths synchronizing in the quiet night.

Ino's body trembled as Malik's tongue explored her, every touch expertly calculated to elicit the most intense pleasure. She arched her back, her moans muffled by the night air as she surrendered completely to the sensations he evoked. Malik's fingers dug into the soft flesh of her hips, pulling her down harder, ensuring she felt every inch of his devotion.

"Oh, Malik," she whispered, her voice trembling with ecstasy, "You always know how to make me feel so good."

Malik's heart swelled with pride and love as he felt Ino's body shudder with pleasure under his expert touch. The intimate moment, bathed in the silver light of the moon, seemed to suspend time itself as they shared this connection.

Ino's breath hitched, her body trembling as she reached the peak of her climax. She let out a soft, almost inaudible cry, her body convulsing with pleasure as waves of ecstasy washed over her. Malik held her close, his fingers entwining in her hair as he savored the moment, their hearts beating in perfect harmony.

As the intensity of their shared pleasure subsided, Ino slowly lifted herself off Malik, her cheeks flushed and her eyes glistening with a mix of exhaustion and deep contentment. She lay down beside him, their bodies still intertwined, their breaths gradually returning to normal. "I would usually bend you over a tree and take you, but I'm going to be busy for the next few days, so let's spend some more time together, we can have sex later. What do you want to do tonight?"

Ino grinned, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Well, how about a nice, long walk?" she suggested, her voice playful. "I know this amazing spot by the river that's perfect for stargazing."

Malik smiled, his heart still filled with the warmth from their earlier encounter. "That sounds perfect, Ino. Lead the way."

They stood up, brushing off the grass from their clothes. Hand in hand, they began to walk towards the river, the moonlight casting a soft glow over the path. The sounds of crickets and the rustling of leaves filled the air, creating a serene atmosphere that was perfect for the romantic night ahead.

As they approached the riverbank, Ino pointed out the constellations.

====

Late into the night, Malik quietly made his way through the corridors of his mansion. The events of the day had left him with a lot to think about, but there was one thing on his mind more than anything else: checking on Mikoto Uchiha and Kushina Uzumaki. He knew both women had been through an emotional whirlwind after reuniting with their sons, and he wanted to see how they were holding up.

Malik entered a softly lit room that served as a quiet retreat within the mansion. The space was serene, designed to offer comfort and peace. To his surprise, he found both Mikoto and Kushina sitting together on the plush, cream-colored sofas, a low table between them with a pot of tea steaming gently. It seemed they had found solace in each other's company.

Mikoto was seated gracefully, her posture elegant but her eyes downcast, as if lost in thought. Kushina, on the other hand, had a handkerchief clutched in her hand, her eyes slightly red from what had clearly been a long session of tears. The two women looked up as Malik entered, their expressions shifting to ones of gratitude and warmth.

Malik offered them a gentle smile as he approached. "I hope I'm not interrupting," he said softly, taking a seat across from them.

Kushina shook her head quickly, offering him a watery smile. "No, not at all, Malik. We were just… talking."

Malik nodded, sensing the weight of emotions in the room. "How are you both doing? How did it go with your sons?"

Kushina took a deep breath, her voice trembling slightly as she spoke. "It was… overwhelming. Seeing Naruto again after all this time, I… I can't even describe the feeling." Her voice cracked, and she paused to steady herself. "He's grown up so much, but he's still my little boy. We… we both cried a lot. Not that he'd ever admit it, but there were definitely tears."

Malik reached out, placing a comforting hand over hers. "I'm glad you got to see him. It must have been a lot to take in."

Kushina nodded, biting her lip as she tried to keep her emotions in check. "It was. But it was also everything I could have hoped for. Just to hold him again… to know that he's okay… Thank you, Malik. I can't thank you enough for bringing me back to him."

Her eyes shimmered with fresh tears, and Malik gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. "You don't need to thank me, Kushina. I'm just glad I could do this for you and Naruto."

Kushina smiled, though it was tinged with the rawness of all she had felt. "He's a strong boy. He'll be okay. We'll be okay."

Malik then turned his attention to Mikoto, who had been silent during the exchange. She looked up at him, her expression a mixture of sadness and uncertainty. "And you, Mikoto? How did your reunion go?"

Mikoto sighed softly, her gaze drifting to the teacup in her hands. "Sasuke… Sasuke was angry. I knew he would be, but… I didn't expect it to be this intense." Her voice was steady, but the pain was evident. "He's been carrying so much anger and pain for so long, and I think seeing me again… it just brought all of that to the surface."

She paused, taking a slow breath as if searching for the right words. "I thought my return might help him find some peace, but now… I'm not so sure. I think I might have made things worse. I don't know what to do, Malik."

Malik frowned, feeling the weight of Mikoto's words. He knew Sasuke's pain ran deep, and it wasn't something that could be easily soothed. "I wish I had an answer, Mikoto. Sasuke's been through so much, and it's going to take time for him to process everything. But he's your son, and deep down, I believe he knows that you love him."

Before Malik could say more, Kushina interjected, her voice firm despite the tears still lingering in her eyes. "Mikoto, don't be too hard on yourself. Sasuke's angry because he cares. It's his way of dealing with everything he's been through. But just because he's angry doesn't mean he doesn't want you in his life."

Mikoto looked at Kushina, her expression softening slightly. "But what if I can't help him? What if my being here only pushes him further away?"

Kushina shook her head. "You're his mother. You being here is the best thing that could have happened to him, even if he doesn't realize it yet. Sasuke needs time, just like Naruto and I needed time to understand each other again. Give him that time, and be patient. He'll come around."

Mikoto considered Kushina's words, the tension in her shoulders easing a little. "Maybe you're right. I just… I don't want to lose him again."

"You won't," Kushina said softly. "We just have to trust that our boys will find their way back to us."

Malik watched the exchange, feeling a deep sense of respect for both women. They had been through so much, yet their strength and love for their children shone through. He knew they would find a way to help their sons, no matter how difficult the road ahead might be.

As the conversation wound down, Malik stood, offering both women a small, reassuring smile. "I'll leave you two to rest. It's been a long day, and you both deserve some peace."

Kushina nodded, her eyes still glistening with unshed tears. "Thank you, Malik. For everything."

Mikoto managed a faint smile, her gratitude evident even through her worries. "Yes, thank you."

Malik inclined his head, feeling a sense of contentment as he left the room. He knew the journey ahead for both women and their sons would be challenging, but he also believed in their strength. They would find a way, just as they always had.

As he walked down the corridor, he couldn't help but feel a deep sense of purpose. There was still much to do, but for now, he had given these mothers a chance to reconnect with their sons, and that was a victory in itself.

====

As Malik walked through the dimly lit corridors of his mansion, the soft sound of his footsteps was the only thing that accompanied him. The day had been long, filled with deep conversations and emotional reunions. He was tired, but there was a certain satisfaction in knowing that he had helped bring peace to those who had lost so much. However, as he rounded a corner, he found himself face to face with Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage.

Tsunade stood there, her arms crossed, her expression a mixture of sternness and concern. Her presence was commanding, even in the quiet of the night, and Malik knew that this wasn't going to be a casual conversation.

"Malik," Tsunade began, her voice steady but with an underlying tension. "We need to talk."

Malik nodded, sensing the gravity of the situation. "Of course, Tsunade-sama. What's on your mind?"

Tsunade uncrossed her arms and took a step closer, her eyes locking onto Malik's. "I've been hearing things—about what you've been doing with your magic, bringing people back from the dead."

Malik felt a slight unease creep into his chest, but he kept his expression calm. "Yes, I have that ability. I've used it sparingly, to help those who've suffered great losses."

Tsunade's eyes narrowed slightly, and she let out a deep breath. "I know your intentions are good, Malik. I know you're trying to help. But do you really understand the implications of what you're doing?"

Malik furrowed his brow, unsure of where Tsunade was going with this. "I'm aware that it's not something to be taken lightly. I've only brought back those who were taken before their time—people whose deaths caused immense pain."

Tsunade shook her head slowly, her gaze never leaving Malik's. "It's not just about who you bring back, Malik. It's about the balance of life and death. Every jutsu, every technique, comes with a price. The cycle of life and death is sacred, and when you interfere with that, there are consequences—consequences that we can't always foresee."

Malik remained silent, letting Tsunade's words sink in. He knew she was right, at least in part. He had considered the risks, but hearing it from Tsunade, someone who had experienced loss and understood the weight of life and death, made it all the more real.

"I understand your concerns, Tsunade-sama," Malik said quietly. "But I've been careful. I've only used this power when it felt absolutely necessary, when it could bring hope and healing."

Tsunade sighed, her expression softening slightly. "I don't doubt your intentions, Malik. But what happens when others learn of this power? What if someone with less noble intentions seeks you out, or worse, tries to take that power for themselves? You're playing with forces that could easily spiral out of control."

Malik nodded slowly, acknowledging the truth in her words. "I've thought about that too. I've taken precautions to ensure that my abilities aren't misused. But I also believe that if I have the power to do good, to ease the suffering of others, I can't just stand by and do nothing."

Tsunade looked at him for a long moment, her eyes searching his face for something. Finally, she spoke, her voice tinged with a sadness that Malik hadn't expected. "You remind me of myself when I was younger—idealistic, determined to save everyone. But I learned the hard way that we can't save everyone, Malik. Sometimes, the price of trying is too high."

Malik felt a pang in his chest at her words. He had heard of Tsunade's losses, of her brother Nawaki and her lover Dan, both of whom had died in ways that haunted her. He could see the pain of those memories etched in her eyes.

"I know I can't save everyone," Malik said softly. "But that doesn't mean I shouldn't try to save those I can. I've seen the pain that loss brings, and if I can spare even one person from that pain… I have to try."

Tsunade's gaze softened further, and she placed a hand on Malik's shoulder, her touch surprisingly gentle. "Just promise me you'll be careful, Malik. The power you wield is dangerous, even if it doesn't seem like it. And if there ever comes a time when you're unsure… come to me. We'll figure it out together."

Malik nodded, grateful for her understanding. "I promise, Tsunade-sama. I'll be careful. And thank you—for your wisdom, and for trusting me with this responsibility."

Tsunade gave him a small, sad smile. "You're a good person, Malik. Just don't lose sight of what's important—sometimes, the best thing we can do for those we love is to let them go."

With that, she turned and walked away, leaving Malik standing in the dim corridor, deep in thought. He knew Tsunade was right—there were risks to what he was doing, and the weight of those risks was something he would have to carry. But he also knew that he couldn't turn away from the power he had been given. He would continue to use it, carefully, wisely, and with the understanding that every life he brought back was a gift—a gift that came with a price.

As Malik made his way back to his room. He would do everything in his power to ensure that the magic he wielded was used for good, and that the balance Tsunade had spoken of was respected. But for now, he would rest, knowing that he had done what he could to bring light into the lives of those who had been shrouded in darkness for too long.
