Chapter 58 - Prelude to the Golden Challenge

Feng Xuan sat quietly in his room within the Spirit Hall, the soft glow of candlelight casting flickering shadows on the walls. His mind was abuzz with thoughts, reflecting on the abilities he had developed and mastered over the years.

First, he considered his Illusion Arrow, the skill granted by his Phantom Hawk spirit ring. This ability had been his first step into the world of spirit power, allowing him to create deceptive illusions that confused and misled his opponents. The Phantom Hawk's power had taught him the importance of strategy and subtlety in battle. He recalled the countless training sessions with Shivarjuna, where he honed his ability to control the illusions, making them more intricate and believable. He had developed an elemental illusion arrow in which he had added elements to his first spirit skill.

Next, his mind turned to the Elemental Enhancement granted by the Elemental Dragon spirit ring. This skill had opened up new realms of possibility, allowing him to manipulate and combine the elements with greater potency. He remembered the initial struggles to master the interplay of fire, water, earth, air, and metal, and how Shivarjuna had guided him through the complexities. Now, he could unleash devastating elemental attacks, creating fiery tornadoes, earthen barriers, and metal-infused strikes with ease.

Then there was the Firestorm Lock from the Firestorm Wolf spirit ring. This ability had given him precision and power, enabling him to lock onto a target and deliver a focused, unstoppable attack. The memory of the battle against the Firestorm Wolf was still vivid in his mind, a testament to his growth and resilience. The locking mechanism of the attack had proven invaluable in his arsenal, allowing him to strike true even against the most agile foes.

Lastly, the Elemental Fusion skill from the spirit bone. This ability represented the pinnacle of his training, a skill that required perfect harmony between all the elements. He could now merge them into unique and powerful combinations, a testament to his deep understanding and control. The fusion of fire and earth to create molten lava, or water and air to form concealing mists, demonstrated his versatility and creativity in combat.

As he sat there, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in how far he had come. Each skill was a milestone, a piece of his journey that had shaped him into the spirit master he is today. However, he also knew that there was still much to learn and many more challenges to face.

His thoughts drifted to the upcoming battle Bibi Dong had arranged. He would be facing a member of the Golden Generation, a test that would push him to his limits. But Feng Xuan was not one to shy away from a challenge. With his arsenal of skills and the teachings of Shivarjuna, he felt ready to face whatever came his way. Yan has crossed his line by provoking me. He uses his jealousy to provoke me I will teach him a lesson of modesty.

I can't show the age of my spirit ring so I needed to use the illusion taught by the master to hide the age of my spirit ring whenever I needed to use my spirit skills.

Pondering over his abilities, he knew that each one held untapped potential. The true strength of his skills lay not just in their individual power, but in how he could combine and use them in synergy. The Illusion Arrow, Elemental Enhancement, Firestorm Lock, and Elemental Fusion were all parts of a greater whole, tools that he could wield with increasing mastery and precision.

Hu Liena found Feng Xuan in his room, deep in thought. She knocked lightly on the door frame before stepping in. Her presence was graceful and commanding, and she carried an air of confidence that matched her reputation as a top disciple of Bibi Dong.

Feng Xuan comes out of thought by hearing a knocking sound so he gets up and opens the door where he sees Hu Liena. He asked, "Senior sister, What are you doing here this late?"

"You shouldn't have accepted this challenge, you still have an age gap between you and Yan. He has a powerful ability that even I can't match him in strength. Also, he will not show mercy due to his character." Said Hu Liena.

"It's needed to be done. No one can provoke me even if out of jealousy. He had crossed his line by challenging me and I will not back down from any challenge." Said Feng Xuan.

"Sign, His jealousy is a problem from his childhood. He likes me but I always see him as my brother. Anyway, Now that you have accepted the challenge then let me tell you about Yan's ability. That will help you in a challenge." Said Hu Liena.

"That will help me. Thank you, senior sister." Said Feng Xuan.

Hu Liena began, "Yan is one of the most formidable members of the Golden Generation. His spirit is the Fire Leopard, a powerful and agile beast. Yan's abilities revolve around fire, making him a dangerous opponent. His spirit ring abilities are impressive, and you'll need to be prepared for them."

Feng Xuan nodded, listening intently. "Can you tell me more about his abilities?"

Hu Liena smiled, pleased with his eagerness to learn. "Yan's first spirit ability is Blazing Flames. It allows him to unleash intense bursts of fire that can burn through most defenses. He often uses this to increase his attack power, enveloping his physical attacks in flames."

Feng Xuan considered this, visualizing how he might counter such an ability. "And his second ability?"

"The second ability is Flame Explosion," Hu Liena continued. "He can concentrate fire energy into explosive attacks, either covering a wide area or focusing on a single target. It's incredibly powerful and can be quite devastating if you get caught in it."

Feng Xuan's mind raced with strategies to avoid or mitigate the damage from such attacks. He'd need to stay mobile and use his own elemental abilities to counteract the fire.

"Yan also possesses Leopard's Agility, which enhances his speed and agility," Hu Liena added. "This makes him a formidable close-range combatant. He can dodge attacks with ease and strike quickly. You'll need to be on your toes to keep up with him."

"Speed and agility," Feng Xuan mused. "I'll have to rely on my training to match his movements."

Hu Liena nodded approvingly. "Exactly. Finally, Yan's fourth ability is Flame Armor. He can create a protective layer of flames around his body, which not only shields him from attacks but also burns anyone who comes into contact with it. Close combat with him becomes very risky."

Feng Xuan frowned, realizing the difficulty of engaging Yan up close. "So, I can't rely on physical attacks alone."

"No, you'll need to be strategic," Hu Liena agreed. "Use your skills wisely, and you'll prevail."

Feng Xuan took a deep breath, absorbing all the information. He knows he can easily win against yan but still knowing his ability he can plan in advance. "Thank you, senior sister. This information is invaluable. I'll need to use everything I've learned to face Yan."

Hu Liena smiled warmly, confident in his abilities. "I have no doubt you'll rise to the challenge, Feng Xuan. Remember, it's not just about power, but strategy and adaptability that you had learned with the teacher. So, prepare well and fight will all of your strength. I will leave for now. Also, relax and sleep, don't stress over the challenge even if you can't win you need to give your best."

"Okay, I will take care of myself. Thank you" said Feng Xuan.

Hu Liena once again reminded him to sleep on time and leave for her room.
