Chapter 29 - Training Bow

In the serene depths of the mountain behind Nuoding academy, where sunlight filtered through the dense canopy, Feng Xuan was guided by Shivarjuna, a revered archer of legend, in the art of mastering aiming.

After mastering Stance and Posture, Nocking the Arrow, Grip and Hand Position, Drawing the Bow, and Anchor Point, Shivarjuna started to guide Feng Xuan in aiming, Releasing arrow and Breathing and Concentration.

"Feng Xuan, mastering the bow begins with mastering your aim. It's about aligning your entire being with your intention, not just hitting the target," instructed Shivarjuna.

Feng Xuan nodded attentively, absorbing Shivarjuna's wisdom as he adjusted his stance to feel the energy flow through him.

"Start with your posture. Root yourself like the ancient oaks around us—strong yet flexible. Let your body find its natural alignment, a harmony of strength and fluidity," continued Shivarjuna.

Feng Xuan adjusted his posture, focusing on a distant tree as he contemplated Shivarjuna's guidance.

"Aiming is more than physical alignment; it's a mental state. Feel the energy from your core extending through your arms to the bow. Visualize the target not as an obstacle, but as an extension of your will," elaborated Shivarjuna.

Feng Xuan, drawing the bowstring, felt the tension build, seeking consistency in his actions.

"Consistency comes from within. Trust your instincts, refining them through practice. Adapt your aim with each breath—fluid yet purposeful," reassured Shivarjuna.

Feng Xuan released the arrow with controlled precision, feeling a sense of clarity in his execution.

"Aiming isn't just about hitting the mark; it's about understanding your alignment—body, mind, and spirit—in relation to the target," reflected Shivarjuna.

Feng Xuan, pondering Shivarjuna's words, recognized the holistic approach to mastering aiming.

"Mastery of aiming encompasses a deep connection with your surroundings, sensing and harmonizing with the flow of energy," concluded Shivarjuna.

Feng Xuan, feeling enlightened, bowed respectfully to Shivarjuna.

"Continue to practice diligently, Feng Xuan. Mastery is a journey of discovery and refinement. Embrace each moment, and you will draw closer to the essence of the bow," smiled Shivarjuna warmly.

Shivarjuna imparts his wisdom to Feng Xuan, emphasizing not just technical skill but the philosophical and spiritual aspects of mastering aiming in archery.

He just guided Feng Xuan at aiming.

For two days Feng Xuan practice aiming. On third day,

"Feng Xuan, releasing the arrow is not just about letting go physically but about harmonizing your entire being with the act," instructed Shivarjuna.

Feng Xuan nodded attentively, absorbing Shivarjuna's wisdom as he adjusted his stance to feel the energy flow through him.

"Begin by understanding that releasing the arrow should be a seamless extension of your aim. It's not about force but about allowing the arrow to follow its intended path naturally," Shivarjuna explained. Feng Xuan, drawing the bowstring, felt the tension build, seeking to apply Shivarjuna's guidance.

"Yes, but remember, release should be like the gentle flow of a river, not a sudden break. Feel the tension in the bow, but let it dissipate naturally as you release," continued Shivarjuna.

Feng Xuan practiced the release with controlled precision, sensing the difference in approach.

"I can feel the difference. It's about finding that balance," Feng Xuan remarked, internalizing the nuances of the skill.

"Exactly. A well-released arrow reflects your inner state—calm, focused, and aligned with your intention. Each release should be a culmination of your mental clarity and physical skill," Shivarjuna affirmed, emphasizing the holistic nature of the process.

"So, it's not just about the action but also about the state of mind," Feng Xuan reflected, acknowledging the deeper layers of archery.

"Mastery of releasing the arrow is about harmonizing your physical actions with your mental clarity. Trust in your aim and the path of your arrow," Shivarjuna concluded, imparting a fundamental lesson.

"It's a deeper connection, a dance between control and letting go," Feng Xuan realized, appreciating the artistry involved.

"Precisely. Allow each release to teach you something about yourself and your relationship with the bow," Shivarjuna encouraged, emphasizing the growth inherent in the practice.

"I understand. Releasing the arrow is an art in itself," Feng Xuan said, bowing respectfully to Shivarjuna.

"Continue to practice diligently, Feng Xuan. Each release brings you closer to mastering the essence of the bow," Shivarjuna smiled warmly, affirming his pupil's journey.

Shivarjuna imparts not just technical advice on releasing the arrow but a profound philosophy that emphasizes the importance of inner harmony, trust, and continuous self-discovery in the art of archery.

Feng Xuan also practice it in three days.

Shivarjuna shocked by talent shown by Feng Xuan but he didn't show it in face. In forth day he started to guide Feng Xuan at Breathing and Concentration.

"Feng Xuan, mastering archery begins with mastering your breath and concentration," Shivarjuna advised.

Feng Xuan nodded attentively, adjusting his posture to align with Shivarjuna's teachings.

"Focus on your breath. Inhale deeply to draw in clarity and focus. Exhale slowly to release distractions and doubts," Shivarjuna continued, emphasizing the importance of mental discipline.

Feng Xuan followed Shivarjuna's instructions, feeling the rhythm of his breath synchronize with his movements. "Like this?" he asked, seeking confirmation.

"Yes, but remember, concentration is not just about physical stillness but about mental presence. Be aware of your surroundings without letting them distract you," Shivarjuna replied calmly.

Feng Xuan practiced, feeling a deeper connection to his surroundings and his inner self. "I can feel the difference. It's about being in the moment," he remarked.

"Exactly. Mastery of archery requires not only technical skill but also mental clarity and presence. Let your breath guide your actions," Shivarjuna affirmed, observing Feng Xuan's progress.

"So, it's about finding harmony within oneself and with the bow," Feng Xuan reflected, internalizing Shivarjuna's wisdom.
