Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Traditional Wedding Rituals

Klaus informed Meiss of the decision, and after some discussion, the royal representatives agreed that Klaus would have a traditional wedding ceremony tonight. Since the marriage between the North and the South was a major event, they would need to follow the process of hosting a formal wedding reception and holding a press conference.

Traditional wolf weddings are not complicated. The location is usually chosen in the woods, and the bride and groom need only swear to each other and mark each other in the presence of witnesses, and the ceremony is complete.

Klaus was in such a hurry, for he did not want anything to go wrong with the wedding. He knew very well that this was nothing more than a political marriage. The conflict between the North and the South had been going on for years, and the kings of both sides did not want to continue the war after spending a lot of manpower and money. A temporary peace would give them enough time to restore their economies.

And it was his pack that Klaus really cared about. He had only to marry the South, as had been agreed, and he could ask the king for his pack, and he did not wish to wait any longer.

Marx did as Klaus had instructed, and arranged for the ceremony to be held this evening. He had to find a proper minister and get a suitable wedding dress for the bride, but she was too shabby to wear a T-shirt to the ceremony.

These trifles had always been left to Marx, and Klaus only had to show up at the wedding ceremony at the exact time.

"Maybe I should go back and see her," Klaus said to himself, "What if she runs away again?"

Klaus felt a little uneasy when he heard that. He had already posted guards around the room before leaving. Where else could she possibly escape?

...

Emily checked all the exits from the room, including the bedroom windows, balcony, and door. As she stepped out onto the balcony and looked down, she noticed that one of the guards standing downstairs happened to be looking up. As she gazed at the suited guard, Emily smiled awkwardly.

The guard ignored her, instead looking down into his Bluetooth headset and muttering something. Emily thought it was strange and hoped the guard hadn't noticed anything suspicious.

She also tried to open an air-conditioning vent in the ceiling, but the passage was simply not wide enough for her body. Her plans to escape through an air-conditioning vent failed.

Emily had not given up yet; she had never given up and run away. Although she had ostensibly agreed to work with Klaus, she was not sure that his promises were reliable, so should she play his game like a puppet and be at his mercy?

All she could trust in this strange place was herself, and therefore she would not give up every chance of escape.

At that moment, the doorbell in the room rang. When Emily opened the door, she saw two maids standing outside with large gift boxes. One of the older maids told Emily that they were to help her change her clothes.

Emily could not communicate with them verbally, so she had to jot down questions on a piece of paper: "Why do I need to change my clothes?"

The maid told Emily that they didn't know the exact reason and that it was Alpha's beta who had given them the orders.

The maid also hoped that Emily wouldn't embarrass them, as they would be punished if they failed to complete the tasks assigned by Beta.

The two maids then began to undress Emily, instructing her to shower before changing her clothes. Emily was confused, but she allowed them to bathe her.

As Emily sat in a chair after her shower, one of the maids brought perfume to spray on Emily's body, while another used a hairdryer to help her dry her hair.

Emily saw the older maid open the box and pull out a white wedding dress. Thinking that the maids were merely checking if it was the right size, she cooperated and put it on.

Maybe it's just a pre-marital exercise, Emily thought to herself.

After Emily had put on her wedding dress, Marx entered the room. When he first saw Emily in her wedding dress, his gaze lingered on her for a few seconds.

"Alpha is waiting for you downstairs," Marx said, regaining his composure.

Emily gestured to ask where to go, and Marx told her, "You'll find out soon."

"Let's go, Alpha doesn't like to wait for people," Marx urged her.

Emily and Marx went downstairs, and she saw Klaus, wearing sunglasses, leaning against a business Mercedes, his hands folded across his chest, staring in Emily's direction.

He seemed to be scrutinizing her.

"Get in the car," Klaus said to her.

Emily stood outside the car door, hesitating, wondering what the hell Klaus was planning to do.

Klaus, who was sitting in the car, grabbed Emily's wrists and pulled her onto the seat, but Emily tried to struggle but was held firmly in Klaus' arms.

"Be quiet," he said.

The car started slowly, and Emily looked helplessly at Klaus, hoping he would tell her where they were going.

After a while, Klaus said to her, "We're going somewhere."

Emily traced a word with her fingers on the palm of her hand: "Where?"

"The woods," Klaus replied.

Emily wrote in the palm of her hand, "Why?"

Klaus was silent for a moment and then said, "To get married."
