When Emily awoke, she felt as if she had just finished a long run, with a faint, tearing pain in her lower body. The thought of what had happened to her and Klaus on the deck was inconceivable to her.
It had all come so suddenly, yet it seemed as if it was exactly as intended.
Klaus stood shirtless by the window, his lower body wrapped in a white bath towel, the moonlight casting a glow on his perfectly muscled back as he stood motionless, gazing out to sea.
"Are you awake?" He turned his head to look at Emily.
"Did I sleep for a long time?" Emily yawned.
"It's not been too long," Klaus replied, walking over to the bed. He looked down at Emily and said, "If you want, you can go back to sleep."
"I can't sleep now," Emily said after a moment of silence.
"What are you thinking?" Klaus sat down on the bed and leaned sideways, closer to Emily.
