Nelly finished sending a message back home. She sat at Kabek's heartily upgraded dinner table, as they shared a pot of hot brew. It might have been running away, but she couldn't take on a single duty at this moment, so she decided to stay in the apartment she had commandeered from Kabek, at a time which now seemed ages ago.
Kabek had changed the music station a few times before Nelly's expression had softened enough where it seemed like an apt choice. Nelly set down her phone, now sure she wouldn't be disturbed unless there was a grand event in the next few hours.
"I'm not going to tell you what happened" Nelly said, grabbing the cup in both hands. Kabek sighed and leaned back in his chair.
"I haven't asked at all and I'm not going to ask" Kabek said. Nelly harrumphed, but was both pleased at his discretion and annoyed that he didn't ask, conundrum in the making. It was Nelly's turn to sigh, and she took a long deep gulp of the bitter brew.
