Chapter 19 - Of Dress and Undress

Nelly had to hold a hand to her chest, she feared her heart was going to escape by beating this fast. When she had done it to Kabek, it was just that, she had done it to him, in a moment of lust. This time it was going to be a mutual experience, and the closeness through the years—not to mention the confession she had heard but nine hours earlier. Every few movements of the seconds hand on the wall, she had to manually start her breathing again.

Several times she had changed where she sat, but ended up sitting at the edge of her bed. It was straight towards the door, and just felt comfortable, she swore to herself that was the reason. Not the thoughts she had in her head, not the thousands of scenes that had played in her mind as she was preparing for tonight.

Any moment now Red would walk through that door, and they were going to do it. She would present her neck and she would enjoy her lifeblood, making her Nelly's for all eternity. Nelly kept pondering what is proper etiquette in this situation. What are good bedside manners, how was it not going to be awkward or potentially too improper. Nelly blushed at the image of Red breathing in her ear while Nelly had her fangs sunk in.

A light knock on her door, ten seconds after the minute hand had turned to the appointed time. Five seconds off of Red's usual entrance, she was the timeliest maid on the roster, maybe she was nervous too. Nelly checked her robe was fastened properly, wouldn't want to give the wrong signal, before telling Red to enter.

She was clad in a black evening gown, one beautiful long leg sticking out at her steps. Red was wearing the necklace Nelly had gifted as a birthday gift, some five years ago. Now Nelly was regretting wearing something so casual in comparison.

"Like it?" Red said and spun around after closing the door. Nelly nodded real quick several times in succession, and decided to say something to not seem insincere.

"Yes, it does both look good and brings attention to all your…" Nelly said and got lost in how descriptive she should be. In her own mind she was hitting herself with a soft mallet, which called her an idiot—with a funny voice at every swing. She was the Heiress, the one who always had words ready, now she felt like a boy who was holding a womans hand for the first time.

"Oh my aren't you shy." Red said and smiled devilishly. Her hips swayed at every step as she approached Nelly, skyrocketing her beats per minute. "I thought I was going to be the shy one." Red continued and pressed her finger to Nelly's lips so she wouldn't speak. It had a light hint of raspberries, just enough so she would catch it, but not be overwhelming.

Red straddled Nelly as she pushed her down. Nelly didn't know a heart could beat so fast as she looked deep in to Red's garnet eyes. Her bright red lips missed Nelly's by centimeters, before closing in on her ears. Nelly almost moaned the moment she felt the breath on her ear. "Take me," Red whispered and any restraint Nelly had left vanished.

She grabbed Red, squeezing Red's body against her own. Her hands explored Red's uncovered back as her lips did the same to Red's neck. Red pulled back her head, locking eyes with Nelly. There was such a depth of need in her eyes, a yearning for each touch Nelly gave. Nelly couldn't help but offer a kiss, there was a moment of hesitation from Red, as if asking if this was really okay—Nelly grabbed Red's head and pulled her in to a passionate kiss.

They both were panting heavily after their kiss, as they released Nelly chased with another peck at her lips, before gently turning Red's head. Her neck was more tempting that anything she had seen before. She couldn't wait any longer and with as much passion as she could muster, she sunk her teeth through Red's skin, unleashing a torrent of ecstasy in her mouth.

Red moaned loudly and pulled open the string holding Nelly's robe fastened. Red's soft hand followed the curve of Nelly's stomach downward and Nelly didn't resist.

The sun woke up Nelly at the crack of dawn. Even with the few hours of sleep she was reinvigorated by the nourishing blood Red had given her. Nelly looked over at the peacefully sleeping Red and the two red marks at her neck, and was glad things had flowed the way they did.

Even though she wanted to call it a successful hunt, she had definitely been the one hunted. Red had been the leading party throughout the night, commanding Nelly to her whims.

Nelly turned closer to the sleeping Red, listening in to her slow and steady breath. Closing her eyes she felt every beat of Red's heart, it was as much Red's as Nelly's heart now. Through their talks last night Nelly knew, they weren't going to be lovers, nor was their relationship going to change—outside the potentially increased skinship.

That wasn't strictly true, they both knew, as now Red's life was intrinsically linked with that of Nelly's. If Nelly died, so would Red's life end within a few months. Conversely, that meant that Red would live as long as Nelly was alive, retaining most of her youth during that time.

Nelly was going to enjoy the morning a bit longer, but realized she should probably inform that Red was going to be absent today, and that there was no wakeup call needed today. Upon opening her phone she saw at the top of her notifications that Paco was on the roster again for her detail.

Nelly sent the messages she had planned to and got up. There was something special about the morning view from up this high. Especially on mornings such as these, with the sparse cloud coverage. She noticed to her delight that her knee was in a much better shape, no doubt thanks to the blood she consumed. The Paco problem slowly exited her mind as she let her eyes explore the horizon.

Sheets rustled behind Nelly and her eyes moved to the slight reflection in the glass. She saw her own naked body and another similarly clothed form moving outside of the covers. When she heard a light moan from the same direction, she returned to the warmth she had left.
