I looked at him, his gaze fixed on me. I quickly bent my head, not wanting to look into those dark eyes of his. My mind raced, wondering if he would accept my effort or reject it outright.
“I see,” he simply replied. “Try it first,” he commanded. I looked up again, his gaze fixed on me suspiciously with no expression on his face. I could understand how he felt. Merely looking at me, I can't be trusted. I'm just a new body, so it was normal for him.
“Can't you eat it?”
I shook my head. “No, forgive me, my lord, but I just felt it proper for my lord to—”
“So that concludes it, my food has been poisoned,” he interrupted, accusingly and abruptly leaving the table.
