Chapter 36 - 35: Profit!

" I'll be taking this..." He said, pointing towards a blue shard lying by the counter.

It was one of the few different colored ones aside from the yellow ores and shards that filled the place.

There were many types of ores that performed different functions and they went far in helping the creation of potions and elixirs.

The only reason why he had thought of the man as a cheater was due to the fact that he was making people believe that all the ores and shards present in his store could be used in the enhancement of weapons and other pieces of equipment.

The more powerful an ore was, the rarer it became since only a few would be blessed with mystic energy although they were all just as expensive.

Some rich nobles went as far as using them as a form of jewelry and it made great for the use as well.

There couldn't be anyone in their right mind who wouldn't help but question the amount of ores and shards he was seeing at the same time.

" What exactly do you plan on doing with that?" Clara asked. She had leaned forward towards his ear to whisper the words to him.

" We'll see."

He gave her a vague reply as he slowly followed behind the man who had gone to bring the item he asked for.

There were a few rare items he was looking for but so far he hadn't found any of them, but the one he bought was one that certainly caught his eye.

His plan had gone well so far but he wasn't sure yet how far the man would be willing to comply with him.

" How much are you willing to offer the item?" The store owner asked as he approached him with the crystalline ore in his hand.

It was quite an interesting question; the fact that he was simply questioning his estimation of the value of the item he had asked for by having him say how much he was willing to offer.

He didn't need to say much anyway.

Opening his palm wide, what seemed like a dark rift appeared on it, and with his left hand, he drew out the sword he had just bought.

Void of hesitation, he slowly unsheathed the sword with his eyes fixed on the crystal and quickly fit it back before things could get out of hand.

They weren't all sure what it was he was trying to do but it sure had done a great job at putting the store owner on edge.

" Let's see now — how about three thousand?"

The man paused for a while before giving him a reply,

" You don't suppose that's a bit too short, how about I raise it by a thousand? Please now, it's all I can offer."

Hearing the man talk he couldn't help but grit his teeth even if it was in the slightest. Quickly, he pulled on the hilt of the sword once again, unsheathing it halfway out of its scabbard.

A purple glow began to emanate from the black sword and every crystalline object in the room began to glow according to their respective colors.

But just as he had expected, some of them weren't glowing, not even the tiniest bit of rays was exiting from them.

The man's eyes began to widen the moment he witnessed the strange sight before him; some items could be used to appraise items but a weapon being able to do the same wouldn't be wrong to be called a rumor.

" Wha-what is that?" He asked with a slight stammer.

He quickly sheathed the sword and said,

" It's a very rare weapon that can increase drastically in effectiveness based on the stored energy sources around it. Seeing is believing now wouldn't you agree, it would make such a perfect pair with what you have in stock."

Now he was giving the man a choice to make by offering him a good business opportunity. Many would want the weapon but they would be subjected to buy a power source in addition which he also had to offer.

He could even offer it to a weapon dealer for an even better price and it wasn't like he would be incurring any losses against the kid.

He smirked mischievously as he said, " How much for the weapon then?"

" It depends on how much you're willing to offer, but fifteen thousand if I'm to say."

He knew the weapon he was holding quite well; the implications and benefits of using and how much of a discount at which he was offering it up.

Even the store owner knew that the boy was offering the weapon but decided to go along with it anyway.

" I suppose we have a deal." He said, walking back to the counter.

" ...but before that, I would like to have the blue ore as well, you can deduct the money."

Once again he had made another successful purchase along with a very huge merging of a profit, one that couldn't help but make him smile gleefully at himself.

He had arrived with a total of nine hundred and eighty-five thousand, two hundred and fifty paxri but he now had nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand, two hundred and fifty plus an item with an estimated market value of up to five thousand paxri.

His journey to the deeper parts of the dark area he had wandered into was now about to begin and things could only get harder from there.

I apologize for the chapter being too short.

I've been losing the urge lately and just that I should take a rest for a few times see if I can get back in shape...

Don't worry though, I'm completely fine now and updates will return to normal starting from Saturday.

I'm dearly sorry for making you wait for so long only to offer this little. Please bear with me.
