"Good morning. I'm Director Nick Fury…"
Tony sat up in the soft backseat of the Bentley. Stretching his neck and rubbing his aching forehead, he rolled down the window. "Parking ticket? I thought it was free?"
Fury stared at him with one eye, not ignoring the blonde-haired woman sleeping beside Tony. She was clearly already waking up but was feigning sleep, hiding her face. He didn't feel like bickering with Stark, knowing the man's sharp tongue.
With a swift move of his hand, he pulled out a loaded syringe from his leather coat pocket and slammed it into Tony's neck.
"Whoa! What the—!" Tony reacted slowly, his hangover affecting him. "What did you just do?"
"You're an important man, Stark," Fury said, standing back calmly, hands clasped behind him. "We can't have you dying just yet, can we?"
Tony groaned, feeling a strange soothing sensation all across his chest and neck, where the effects of poisoning were the most visible. "I'm sorry. What was that, some kind of tranquilizer?"
"Lithium Dioxide, gonna give you some extra days to get the machine working," Fury replied, no-nonsense, as he had more headaches coming his way.
"Great, I'll take ten of those then."
"Listen up, Stark. This ain't a cure. You're still on a one-way road to the grave. You better stop 'exerting' yourself—you're practically signing your own death warrant."
"What do you want from me? Sit around and cry? Not my style. I've done everything—I've searched every combination, every permutation, every possibility of every known and theoretical element. I've turned the impossible inside out," Tony snapped back, his tone as sharp as a repulsor blast. He hated being told what to do.
Fury smirked, a knowing glint in his eye, and turned around, casually waving his hand as he walked away. "No, you haven't, Stark… You haven't looked everywhere yet."
Then tell me where to look! Tony silently, frustratingly, relaxed back in the soft seat, rubbing his eyes.
"Is he gone?"
Sue whispered, her hair a mess, her body still as nude as the night he claimed her. He was tempted for another round, but the headache ruined his mood.
"Yeah."
Normally, he sent the women away after every one-night stand, but he couldn't do that with Sue. She wasn't just some random girl he felt interested in. Although not a friend, he knew her enough to be polite to.
"Ugh… my head." Sue groaned and quickly started dressing up, unashamed of her exposed assets dangling so seductively in front of Tony's.
"I need coffee," Tony muttered and exited, moving to the driver's seat. Soon, Sue joined him in the front too, fixing her hair with the stuff she had in her purse.
"And breakfast," Sue added. "By the way, who was he?"
"A recruiter."
"From the army?"
"Something like that," he replied and stepped on the accelerator, driving out of the parking lot and heading to the nearest coffee shop.
Sue was still interested in him to a degree, staring at his face, her eyes sharp enough to make Tony feel her gaze. "So… doing it with me was killing you?"
Shameless, Tony smirked and placed his palm on Sue's toned legs, now covered in her long skirt. He still gave a gentle squeeze and caress. "No regrets."
"Me neither. But you can't tell anyone, Tony." She finally looked ahead, swatting his hand away too. "I needed it, and it was fun. But that's the end of it… Are you listening, Tony?"
Tony smirked, a hint of self-mockery in his voice. "Relax, Sue. Dead men tell no tales."
Her face went all solemn, those piercing blue eyes of hers narrowing with a hint of empathy. "Hey, don't be so negative. Don't throw in the towel just yet."
Tony rarely finds company decent enough to talk to. With both of them having secrets about each other that had to remain secret, he didn't feel like holding back. "I've looked everywhere, Sue. There is no cure."
He drove to a drive-thru and got them coffee, a sandwich for her, and a good-old hamburger for himself. While eating, he let Jarvis drive from there. Sue didn't bring up the topic of his incoming demise and began venting about Reed. Tony joined in, too, taking jabs at the nerd.
Eventually, he stopped by the Baxter building to drop Sue off. "Adios."
However, Sue didn't step out quickly and looked at Tony with a mischievous smile on her seductive lips, "Well, maybe you lack motivation to find a cure? So…"
Sue looked left and right, and abruptly leaned closer to Tony's side, sliding her hand over to his groin. She gave a few tight squeezes to the flaccid bulge as she kissed his cheek.
Didn't expect this from her. Pity? Or Interested? Tony felt amused.
"If you find a cure…" Sue locked eyes with him, her hand doing some magic on his growing erection. "You can have me for a whole night… however you want… as much as you want… deal?"
Does she not expect me to make it out alive?
"What about Reed? Being drunk is a great excuse, but this is…" Tony didn't finish his words, not really repulsed by the idea of having another night with this beauty again.
Sue scoffed, strengthening her grip on his fully grown bulge now. "Not after what he did… Until his rocket flies to space, I don't think he even remembers a woman named Sue."
"Deal." Tony wasted not a second responding, finding her offer very motivating.
"Heh… You're too easy, Tony." Sue finally stopped and opened the door, getting out. "Good luck then."
What about this? He groaned as he watched her walk away, his cock twitching for some more attention. Am I really that easy?
Finally, done with all he had to do in New York, he drove towards the airport to catch a flight back home on the West Coast. On the way, he turned on the radio to listen to the news, and in an instant, his mood was spoiled.
[...Senator Stern has once again voiced his concern regarding the dangerous technology that is under the eccentric Tony Stark's control. In a new interview, comparing it with nuclear weapons, he urged the Congress to take action—]
Tony changed the radio frequency yet got the same stuff.
[...How did such an important invention get stolen? Should we be concerned? What if Russia, China, and North Korea get their hands on it—Ah, we're getting live updates regarding the entire situation. It seems… the attacker at Monaco, Anton Vanko, has died in an explosion that occurred in his prison cel—]
Frustrated, Tony turned the radio off and drove silently towards the airport. But not before getting a call from Rodes, once again warning him about not doing anything crazy; that the entire Defense Department, and especially the Air Force, was interested in the suit.
He gave generic replies and cut the call as Natalie called him. "What's up?"
"Mr. Stark, I wanted to know if you'll be arriving on time for the fundraiser at the children's hospital. You received the invitation a week ago." Natalie briefed him and gave him a list of notable attendees.
"I'll be there. It's important for the election campaign," Tony replied before cutting the call. "Especially now with this mess."

After a quick nap on the flight, Tony finally landed on the West Coast. Instead of heading home, he got himself a change of clothes and headed straight to the fundraiser. Instead of using his car, he got into his Iron Man suit he remotely called from his home.
From the airport, he flew to the children's hospital, landing on the decorated front lawn where the fundraiser was already going on.
As always, being the hot topic, he became the prime focus as soon as he arrived. Very few journalists were at the party; the rest were celebrities, politicians, and business folk who constantly tried to chat with him.
But Tony merely greeted them before moving to the next person each time.
With a political smile on his face that he had trained himself for, he tried his best to not lash out in annoyance. However, all the displeasure vanished as soon as he was approached by an absolute stunner he wasn't expecting to find in a fundraiser.
Her clothes were ordinary; a formal shirt, black blazer, and black knee-length skirt, as if she had just driven there from work. Her hair was a waterfall of silky golden blonde, her eyes strikingly green, her lips luscious and ripe, and a tiny mole was just above the right side of her lips.
Tony checked her out from head to toe, her height not too much, nor too short, her body lithe, yet curvy with that swollen bosom hidden beneath the white shirt.
Jarvis, who is she? Tony asked with a hushed voice.
Right away, Jarvis scanned the woman's face through Tony's glasses.
Searching online, the artificial butler presented information in the glasses. "Her name is Amanda Kreed, a professor at MIT. She's an expert in genetics, and her latest research is based on changing human DNA to create natural defenses against chronic diseases."
Interesting. A beauty with a lot of brains. Tony felt naturally attracted, at least physically for now.
