Arabella quickly hid behind a thick trunk that was able to completely cover her shadow. She checked her phone, reading the text from Xander, asking her for her whereabouts, but she wasn't looking at the street names while she was running.
Then the worst thing that could happen in that situation occurred. Her phone was almost out of battery.
"What? This can't be happening right now."
She quickly fired back a text at Xander, informing him she was being followed and had no idea where she was. Then, she shared her location with him as soon as she could before her phone's battery died.
Arabella continued to stay hidden beside the tree trunk as she watched them continue to search for her.
It was already dark, and her only source of light was their flashlight and the soft glow from the moon. They searched around everywhere to find her whereabouts.
