Without further warning, Tracie burst into tears and Anastasia quickly wrapped her hands around her to soothe her, gently patting her back.
"You've been blaming yourself this whole time, forcing me to hate you," Anastasia began softly. "I have to admit, there was a point when I did hate you. Just for a little while." She gently pulled Tracie away and cupped her cheeks, wiping away her tears.
"But you're still my sister, and no matter what you do, you can't change that. Even if you make it your life's mission to make me hate you, I won't. I should be thanking you for saving Xavier back then. If you hadn't…" She paused, her voice trembling as she struggled to imagine what might have happened if Tracie hadn't stepped in.
"You're just saying that to make me feel better," said Tracie.
