Chapter 146 - Confrontation

Xavier was in his office, organizing some documents as he prepared to call it a day and head back home.

Before leaving, he instructed his secretary to cancel all of his meetings on a specific date—it was the day of the award show. He wanted to be with Selene and watch her receive her award.

Heading to his private elevator, he entered it, riding down to his private parking lot. 

As Xavier drove out, he nearly collided with a car parked right in front of the parking lot exit. The sudden stop jolted him, and he cursed under his breath. The other vehicle's windows were heavily tinted, making it impossible to see who was inside. 

Xavier's eyes narrowed as he studied the car. It was a sleek, black luxury sedan, the kind that exuded wealth and power. He could tell from the make and model that it wasn't just any car—this was the type of vehicle owned by someone important. Whoever was blocking his way wasn't exactly a nobody.
