Point of View of ????? ????
"Brother... Kayt..." Those were my last words as the darkness completely took over me.
I can't believe it... it's all ending this way... I thought in fear as my consciousness slowly faded away, just like a sugar cube dissolving in hot tea.
It had all happened in just a few seconds, so quickly that I hadn't even had time to process it.
Before the accident, it was a normal day. My brother had come to pick me up from school as usual, and before catching the bus, we ran into Kayt, my brother's best friend.
While traveling, I noticed there weren't many people on the bus—just one guy a bit older than us three.
Since it was already getting dark, I started teasing them both with some truths, but all that happiness was abruptly cut short when I felt a violent crash that sent us veering towards a cliff, leading to our deaths.
...
Where... where am I? I thought as my consciousness gradually returned. Mom... Dad? Leo!? I asked desperately in my mind as I tried to grasp where I was.
Where are they... The fear I felt grew as I realized I couldn't move at all. What? Why can't I move? No... no... this can't be happening....
WHAT IS GOING ON!? Why... why can't I move...? I finally thought before starting to cry uncontrollably.
I kept crying for hours until I couldn't cry anymore. After finally giving up, I managed to calm down. Why...? Dad... Mom....
Still engulfed in sadness, I saw that around me, there were many people with a ghostly appearance, causing me even more fear. If the people around me look like that, it confirms that I'm dead.
I didn't even get to say goodbye to my parents, my brother, or my friends.... I thought, sobbing. If we only live to die, what's the point of life then?
I kept lamenting for several more hours until gradually, the people around me started drifting away, revealing something shocking.
Leo? Kayt!? I thought as I saw the people who had been with me in the accident now standing in front of me. LEO!! KAYT!!
I wanted to approach them, talk to them somehow, or just see how they were, but I couldn't. It's useless, I can't talk to them.
I remained sad for several more minutes until I managed to calm down again. If they're here... no one survived.
Depressed, I watched as we continued moving for several hours until finally, all the people within my field of vision drifted completely away, except for three.
Now what's supposed to happen next? Will my brother and Kayt also drift away? I wondered, resigned.
We kept moving until the sound of a crack completely stole my attention, like when someone hears a fire truck siren.
What happened!? I thought, alarmed. After looking more closely, I saw that the ground several meters ahead was crumbling away.
I tried to move, alert those ahead, or just complain to someone, but I couldn't. My body kept advancing until the first person fell into the hole, followed by my brother, Kayt, and finally, me.
This is it... This is the end, right? I thought sadly. I would have liked to spend more time with my family or... at least to be able to enter... high school....
After a few seconds, my consciousness faded completely, leaving me with a strange sensation, as if I were falling asleep.
°°°
Huh? What happened? I feel like I've slept more hours than I should have. I don't know how I got here, or how long I was like this, but when I opened my eyes again, I found myself in the middle of outer space, along with my brother and Kayt.
"Broth—" I said softly before stopping. "What? I can talk now?"
Looking more closely at my brother and his best friend, I noticed they were still asleep.
"I guess they haven't woken up yet." I said to myself, seeing them so peaceful. "Leo... Wake up! It's time to get up." I shouted in an attempt to wake them up and see if they were okay. I kept trying until Leo's expression suddenly changed.
What? That's strange.... I thought as I watched him now with a silly grin on his face, like someone eating their favorite dish after a long time.
Confused, I kept looking at them until a white flash to my right caught my attention. Huh?
From that strange light emerged a man unlike anything I had seen until now. Even though he seemed only around 30 years old, he looked like someone very wise.
"Hello, Sasha" Said the mysterious man after locking eyes with me. "What? How do you know my name, sir?" I asked, a bit surprised.
"It's a secret, but don't worry, no need to be alarmed. I'm someone who's here to help you." "What? Really!? Can you help wake up my brother and his friend?" I asked excitedly.
It's strange, but for some reason, I feel like this man is someone very trustworthy, that... he would never hurt us. I said in my head before the strange but trustworthy man in white clothes smiled after I thought that.
"I could help them, but... it wouldn't be the best for them." He said, looking at their faces. "It wouldn't be the best for them? But why?" I asked, confused.
"That's another secret." He said with a kind smile. "In that case... can you stay here and watch over them for a while? I want to go ask for help somewhere else." I responded before looking around.
"But... I think that will be difficult. Things seem very far away, and I don't know where to go." "You're right, Sasha. Everything is a bit far." He said, looking towards some points of light far away in space.
"But if you wish, I can help you get there." He said, pointing to the lights he had been looking at earlier. "There?" "Yes, that place is where you'll be more at peace."
"That would be great! But, I can't go that far without my brother and Sasha." I replied, looking at the strange man.
"Mm... you're right. After all, it's not good to be separated from those you care about." "Exactly! I'd feel bad if I went alone to such a faraway place without them." I commented after nodding my head.
"Well, I was planning to send you all there anyway. So, how about I stay here, waiting for both of them to wake up, and meanwhile, you go ahead to that place I mentioned." He said with a smile.
"Huh? Would you really stay here waiting until they wake up?" I asked, excited.
"That's right." He responded, nodding slowly. "But... won't this make you waste your time?" I asked, worried.
"Mm... no, it doesn't matter if I stay a little longer waiting." He said, smiling again. "After all, I've been taking care of the three of you for 13 years now."
"What!? That long?" I asked, surprised. "That's right, but don't worry, I'll be here as long as necessary to help you all, and that includes you too." He said, slowly raising his hand.
"So, Sasha, once both of them wake up, I'll send them to the place where you're going, so you can meet up in the future." "That sounds perfect!" I replied cheerfully.
"Then, have a good trip, girl from another universe." He said before his hand began to glow, and my body started moving at an incredible speed toward the lights he had pointed at before.
Such a kind man. I thought as the strange feeling of peace, safety, and tranquility I had been experiencing began to fade as I moved away from them.
After a few minutes, I arrived at a place similar to Earth, where I saw a young couple with silver hair and pointed ears holding a baby in their arms.
What happened? They're both crying while looking at their baby. Why? I asked myself, not understanding the situation.
After a couple of seconds, a strange white light enveloped my body, and then I began to move unconsciously toward the baby.
All of this feels like I'm in a dream... I thought before the feeling of being alive returned to my soul. But... I know this isn't a dream, this is as real as eating my favorite chocolate.
Unable to get any closer, I began to enter the baby's body until my entire being fused with it. What's happening now? Why do I feel bad? Why does my chest hurt?
A combination of different emotions overwhelmed my soul, causing tears to start flowing from the small body I now had.
I hope my brother and Kayt don't take another 13 years to wake up. I thought while crying like a little girl after her favorite toy was taken away.
