The battle was already out of control. Getting to know everyone needs to happen after battles from now on. Zap awoke a couple of weeks ago and claimed that their holder was coming and it would be just in time for a battle they saw that was coming. I'm hoping this is that battle. "Alright remember we go by hero names, I'm Radiant Sun;" I point to Theodora, "That is Shimmering Moon." I turn to Ume, "Cosmic Ring."
I turn to Rachael, "What are we going to call you?" I ask as we begin to run downstairs, Racheal thinks for a moment before snapping her fingers, "You guys can call me Brilliant Comet." Nodding the main room was covered in comatose bodies, Racheal in shock starts to move towards them.
"Don't move." Shimmering said as the bodies began to move, "The shadows have taken over their bodies. We have to find the leader to end this, or it will be a continuous battle." I look around and don't see anyone I know meaning my parents are safe.
Cosmic charges at the shadows that weren't in the bodies of the civilians. Shimmering takes on those with human puppets. I watch for a second and turn to Brilliant Comet. She was frozen in fear. "Brilliant!" I yell at her over the roars of the shadows, "They are suffering from something different."
Shimmering looks over, "A broken heart."
Cosmic turns to us, "Fear."
Brilliant wakes up and looks at me with a smile, "Lack of faith and trust." I turn to them and watch the larger shadow rise from the floor.
I turn to them and smile, "Pain, nothing can stop all of those from entering our lives, but it's what we do with it that can make us stronger." I charge into the battle with the rest of my friends. The fight is hard on our own. I can't keep up that is until I hear this, "Brilliant Apparition!" I saw one comet hit a shadow that lunged for me while I was slowing down.
A bright light fizzled the shadow out as Brilliant smiled at me, her saber out as though she took a strike. Turning to the larger shadow, "I am Brilliant Comet, I will not shake before a shadow that feeds off of the negative energy of people."
I stand up, as Cosmic runs over, "Galaxy Strike!" she slices eight shadows in her path. I look around for Shimmering, "Girls can you see Shimmering?" I looked around she wasn't any taller than myself, where was she? "Tears of the Moon!" I feel the tears fall on us, and the eight that Cosmic destroyed killed the other four that were hit yet took minimum damage.
Shimmering walks over to us, "Radiant what do you want to do, there are too many?" I grab the hilt of my rapier. Closing my eyes, I tried to ignore the noise, my friends were fighting with all they had, yet I hadn't taken my first strike yet.
Bee rolls in and jumps on my shoulder, "Radiant, you have four of the eight crystals, you guys can unlock the strongest move." I look at Bee and nod, "Okay, tell me." the girls continue as I gather the important information.
Just in time too, I feel the girls met my back as we each covered the other, "Girls, I need you to drop all your fear, pain, sadness, and distrust. I need you to call off Luminous Radiation altogether."
I heard nothing, but almost on cue, they all cried out with me, "Luminous Radiation!" a pillar of light shines down and warms the room, as the shadows scream with the light touching them.
The light peels every shadow off of the civilians. As it dims, the rooms returns to its battle-like state as I go to help all the people up. Shimmering stopped me first, "Moon Light Dance!" the room fills with glittering dust as it swirls the mansion. The whole house was filled with glitter. Shimmering never missed a beat as she strikes her own houses floor, with her Estoc. The glitter dispersed and her home was back to normal.
I can finally run over to the adults on the floor, "Hey are you alright?" The adults slowly sit up and look around, somewhere sad they missed the new year, others were thankful their negative feelings were a lot less strong. Something they could live with. Next, we found all the other hiding guests and got them out safely. The kids all slept through it, not even knowing what happened.
They were excited to meet with us though. "Radiant Sun!" it turns to the sound of my own mother. "Have you seen my daughter? She and her friends still haven't returned." I tried my best not to run and cry in her arms after a battle that tough all I wanted was my Momma.
"Don't worry ma'am I know where they are, and my group and I will go release them." My father brought my mother into a hug, as Chris sits on the floor shaking a little. He didn't like to show his fears, but tonight showed on his sleeves.
I turn to the girls we all nod, running back to Theodora's room. We open the window and make it seem like they jumped from the window. Detransforming in time for our parents to run in, "Girls!" my Momma grabbed me, "Oh my little star, the fear of losing you is far greater than losing my own life." Dad didn't waste time to grab me too. Racheal's family was quicker than Theodora's brothers and father, who brought Ume's family with them.

Crash! I can't believe they stopped my finest shadows! A maid runs in a cleans up the broken glass I threw to the floor. I turn to the screen and rewatch the battle. "How did they know about that move? My great-grandfather said that was the move that killed the Prince in the first place, and he was only a child when it happened.
Looking away from the screen, I turn to where the Prince's soul is trying to fuse with the boy's soul. I smile as Count Shadoe walks in, "Have you finished it yet?"
I roll my eyes, "My Count I will alert you when the souls have combined." He walks over to the capsule, "You aren't doing it fast enough." He touched the glass and whipped the fog away. From where I was, I could see the boy, sleeping peacefully he never once moved.
The Count walks out as his shoes echo on the cool tiles of the floor. I turned back to the screen and rewatched the battle. It seems it's about time for me to take matters into my own hands. If they can defeat my army then they are stronger than the others believe.

Beep...Beep...Bee—I smack my alarm as the cool morning of February felt still. I peek out the window and see large pillows of snow upon the ground. I rush down the stairs, I don't even check my phone before running. "Morning!" I said rushing past Momma as she was working on Chris' hair. I turned on the weather channel and watched the closing list.
The first school rolls across the screen, the second then the third, and then there it was Peach County including Sun City and all the suburban communities including Dogwood Corner! "No School!" I cheer as momma tells Chris off for moving while she finishes his braids. "Starr your turn!" she called out to me as the time on the stove read 6:50.
"Do you want to go natural or do you want braids?" I look at the clock, "Can I have cornrows so I can wear a hat when I play in the snow?" Momma smiled as she removed my cap and started the process of dividing my hair. Chris grabbed a bowl of oatmeal before heading up to his room where he would play on his game pod for the whole day.
"Chris, can you bring my phone down?" I call after him, and all we can hear is him groan. About 5 minutes later Goldie comes down the stairs with my phone under her collar.
Momma and I can't help but giggle. The morning slowly grows lighter, and the sound of kids playing also grows louder. I turn my screen on and look at the time, it reads 7:00.'
Momma groans, "Those stupid little rubber bands, my last two just broke, and the others are upstairs. With a clip holding my cornrows, she walks up the stairs in time for my phone to ring. It's Theo; "Hey, I see you saw the school closings!" she was quiet, "Yes, I did but did you see what's going on, on the news?"
I looked to the weather channel then hit channel 5 and low and behold they were in the central part of the city showing shadows roaming the city humans were comatose on the ground, "What!" Momma comes down the stairs, "Why are you out of the chair?"
I turn to her and point to the screen, "Look at what's going on in the city." She puts her hands on her hips, "Yes I see now return to the chair so you can have your hair finished." I looked at my phone and then at her, "Can you go superfast?" she chuckled before tying my hair, "Not unless you want wonky cornrows."
I get back on the phone, "Theo; it'll take me some time you guys go ahead and head out I have about 20 more minutes for my hair." Theodora sounded surprised, "I thought you did your hair Sunday nights on the last Sunday of the month." I try to whisper, "I do, but yesterday my hair took too long to clean thanks to the battles we've been handling lately." Theo understood and hung up before calling the others. I keep the news on to keep an eye on the girls.
Finally; she finishes my hair and I rush upstairs and change into my sunflower sweater and jeans, my coat, hat gloves, and boots. I shove my phone in my pocket and rush as fast as I can without getting in trouble. I open the door and yell back, "Bye, I'm going to hang out with my friends we're going to be at the park!"
Dad was now in the living room with momma, "Okay be back by lunch or text us." Dad said before I closed the door behind me, the street was bare. I run down the quiet street and call out, "Gold Crystal, Glitter, and Shine!" I transform and allow the winter air to cool me off as I take off.
Leaping into the air I fly off to the battle in time to find the girls in need of some help. I hold the sheath of the sword, "Glitter and Shine turn this sword, Divine!" my Rapier shines in the cool air. I point the blade down at the larger shadow. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I pull my arm back, open my eyes, and call out, "Sun Rays!" I throw my sword and hit the shadow. It was pierced all the way through.
Landing the girls huffed from running and fighting, I stand before them. "Sorry I'm late, I had a hair appointment." They smile and laugh as I hug them and apologize for being late again. To our surprise, the News5's van pulls up as lead reporter Jill Weatherstone rushes over.
Jill stops next to me, "Today we watched this beautiful battle between good versus evil against the shadows that have been plaguing our city for months, Radiant Sun have you girls figured anything out about where these shadows are from?" I look to the girls motioning them to run, "Sorry no comment today we'll let you know when we know." I leap into the sky and follow the girls to the park where we stay transformed due to, too many people around.
Zap and Kat joined us, "Girls come with us we have finally created a base for you." Smiling, "Wow! A base we can finally have a place where we can talk about all the information we know!" Theo nods, "Yes, we can't have these talks in secret at any of our homes, Radiant's parents are loving but teachers and know when something is up."
I nod in agreeance, "Shimmering's family has too many yet the most space but her brothers are in everyone's way on top of a helicopter father." Cosmic nods, "My parents aren't home but my grandparents are, and they tend to listen in on everything."
Brilliant sighs, "Then my family is being themselves in every way. Sisters trying to be a part of the conversation, abuela cooking and bringing food in and out, mom checking in on us dad and Abuelo causing problems when they aren't at work either."
We follow Zap and Kat to the old run-down ice cream parlor. The windows were boarded up and everything inside was frozen in time. We stop at the back entrance and see a staff outdoor sitting area. Along with parking and a small garden. Zap and Kat jump up to the open window above the door. We wait then the door clicks I glance at the others and pull the handle down.
We walk inside and see the dusty parlor, Zap jumps in front of an old mangers office the door has a hole on the bottom. Theo opened the door and the office had paneling and a desk that was bolted to the ground. Zap was already on the desk and was in an open drawer. I glance at the drawer and see a button. I push it and the floor opens and a staircase leads down a long dark hall.
Zap looks at us as Kat jumps down the stairs. "Okay, Bee and Vee should be down there already." We followed them down as the lights turned on and the whole room was a large screen with eight stations for research each had a symbol on the chairs mine had a sun on the back it was in the middle of the room. Shimmering looks around and notices the elephant in the room, "So who owns the other four gems? Bee looks around, "We aren't sure yet. I found the first floor here on earth they were hiding in ancient tombs. I have someone looking for the other four though."
Bee smiles at me as we all detransform, "I'll have my father buy this building and we'll use this room as the owner's office and we'll add a new manager's office." Theodora said as we smiled. I grab my phone and read the time, "Shoot it's 11:50 I need to be home in 10 minutes!" Theodora calls her driver who picks us up and gets me home exactly at noon where the girls and I bug my brother while we drink teas and hot chocolate, and eat momma's famous sweet corn soup and toasted sandwiches.
