After Daniel's departure, Maya invited Alex inside for dinner. "Come on, let's have dinner together," she said warmly. "I'm sure you're hungry."

Alex hesitated but finally nodded. "Alright."

Inside, the cozy kitchen was filled with the delicious aroma of freshly cooked food. Maya had prepared a simple yet hearty meal, and she set the table for three. Just as she was finishing up, Daniel walked in, rubbing his hands together in anticipation.

"Dinner smells amazing, Maya!" Daniel exclaimed, taking a seat at the table. "I can't wait to dig in."

Maya smiled and gestured for Alex to join them. He sat down, his expression still guarded but willing to participate.

As they ate, Daniel took it upon himself to lighten the mood. He shared amusing anecdotes from his travels, funny stories about the villagers, and even a few jokes. Maya laughed, appreciating Daniel's efforts to bring some cheer to the table. However, Alex remained silent, his eyes focused on his plate.

Despite Daniel's best efforts, Alex showed no interest in the conversation. His responses were minimal, and he didn't engage with the humor. Maya exchanged a quick glance with Daniel, who shrugged subtly but continued his attempts to make everyone laugh.

After dinner, Maya cleared the table and offered Alex and Daniel some tea. They sat in the living room, sipping their tea in a more relaxed atmosphere. Daniel continued to chat, filling the silence with stories and laughter. Alex, though still distant, seemed to be listening more intently than before.

When the evening grew late, Maya finally stood up. "It's been a long day. We should all get some rest."

Daniel nodded, stretching and yawning. "Yeah, it's about time to hit the sack. Thanks for the dinner, Maya. It was great."

Maya smiled and turned to Alex. "Goodnight, Alex. I hope you sleep well."

Alex did not say anything

With that, they all went to their respective rooms to sleep. Maya lay in bed, reflecting on the day's events. She knew that Alex still had a long way to go in his recovery, but she was determined to help him through it. She hoped that, little by little, he would open up and find some peace in the village.
