Chapter 4 - chapter 3

" you should feel privileged Xavier " she finished saying

Xavier's ears couldn't seem to stop burning anymore, after hearing her say his name

" Its alright if I call you Xavier instead of Dr. Ford right?" She asked with a smile

It was a critical hit combo

" Then I'll call you Rhen? " He asked cautiously

Her nickname that only Xavier was privileged to say made Rhen feel a bit like she was having a fever, she wasn't uncomfortable though, it was a bit of a funny feeling

"It's a deal then" she said

So tell me Xavier, what do I do now she asked

"What...do you mean?" He said

"Well, I'm strapped in this bed with an IV tube, can I maybe move out of this bed and take a walk ? "She asked in a cautious tone

"Yes, you can but be careful not to overdo it "he said worriedly

"That's great, then as my attending doctor why don't you accompany me" she answered with a small smile,

She was starting to move on the bed, her muscles were feeling a bit spasmic

( Yes however she was truly hoping to ask him to accompany her)

"After all what if I faint when I'm out on a walk, and I'm sure you're more familiar with the hospital's grounds than I am" she continued

Xavier's face started to look a bit helpless after hearing her say that

"Yes you're right, I'll show you one of my most favourite places too "he said with a slight smile as he looked at her

However he looked a bit lost when he looked at her eyes, it was almost like as if he had seen someone else

That was more annoying to her than a cup

Rhen slowly tried to get up from her bed,

Her arms and limbs were shaking a bit from trying to get up

Xavier immediately came to support her upon seeing that

His warm hands held hers as he touched her back to give her support

Maybe because of her condition she felt cold

But his hands felt scorching hot at that moment

He helped her up and then swiftly put his hands away

She grabbed the ivy drip that was beside her and then turned to face him as she looked into eyes

"Can I hold your arm" she asked

Xavier looked a bit stumped

" For support " she continued on to say

His face seemed to heat up a bit, he was embarrassed

" Yes " he said as he took her hand gently and place it on his arm

"Can I ask you something else?" She said

"Yes anything" he said

'Anything?.... What if she asked for all his money or his life???' She thought a bit suprised as one of her eyebrows raised up when she heard him say that.

It looked a bit silly to be completely honest, Xavier nearly let out a small laugh

However after a moment of pause her expression returned back to normal

"Well could you take me to the reception first before we go out, I need to make sure that I can pay for my hospital stay in advance" she said

Her eyes dimmed a bit however when she said that

His eyes seemed to turn a bit dim too upon hearing her

" I'm sorry " he said as he looked remorsed

" Sorry? Why? You don't have anything to be sorry about " she answered with a sad smile on her face

They both walked slowly towards the reception

Putting that conversation behind them

It was a long but silent walk, slowly the atmosphere around them turned comfortable

and when she reached

Rhen slowly unhooked her arm from Xavier's and supported herself on the counter

" I'd like to pay for my hospital stay in advance and all of my previous bills " she said as she searched herself for her wallet

She couldn't find it though

Then she remembered that it had fallen in the her physicians office when she fell unconscious

Before

She turned around to face Xavier and asked him

" Xavier I'm sorry but I may have forgotten my bag with Dr. Smith when I had fainted-"

but before she could finish asking

" I'll get it, don't worry " he said as he turned around to walk towards Dr Smith's office

He seemed ready to do 'Anything' indeed she thought

She turned around to face the receptionist

And while she was waiting she asked

Lilian the receptionist

" How much for Dr Xavier? " She said with a small smile that had formed on her face

Lillian fumbled a bit when she heard that, the stapler in her hand almost fell

" I'm sorry i don't think I heard you properly" Lillian said

A sigh left her mouth as Rhen recalibrated her words instead

" how much would it cost for Dr Ford to only be my own personal attending doctor " she asked

Lillians mouth fell agape a tiny bit, but she immediately closed it

Rhen let out a small chuckle seeing that

" I'd have to check with the director of the hospital regarding this, but we've had cases like these before, but it's highly expensive, it might cost you a few hundred thousand" Lillian said

" Then I'll be booking him, and I'd also like to upgrade my room to a VIP room" she said immediately

Lillian almost felt like she would choke

'this patient was quite brave' lillian thought

The receptionist felt a bit of admiration for her though

" Yes ma'am " lillian said as she proceeded to immediately send the hospital's director an email regarding the ' booking ' of Dr. Ford

once that was done lillian upgraded her to a VIP room

Just when the receptionist was about to finish

She heard footsteps coming from behind her

She turned around to face him with a small grateful smile on her face

Xavier had arrived with her bag

He handed her the bag after he gently grabbed her hand so she could hold his arm

The warmth made her smile a bit more genuine

The receptionist felt astonished looking at this scene, Dr. Ford was an extremely cold person.

Once Rhen recieved her bag she immediately searched for her bank card

And when she had it in her hand, she gave it to the receptionist to swipe it!

Then when that was done the receptionist put her hand out to pass her the VIP room card

When Xavier saw the card in her hand, astonishment flashed accross his face before it returned to normal

" you upgraded your room to a VIP room?" He asked curiously

" Yes, after all I have the money... so shouldn't I live well"

she spoke in a certain tone but it was laced with devastation

Even though she had money to live well because of her paintings, every person would still try to save as much as they could,

'but what was the point anymore'  she thought

After hearing the sadness in her voice

Xavier grabbed the hand that she had held on his arm, the temperature of his hand brought a warmth to her hands and heart,

However She hadn't noticed how much warmth it had brought to her heart until much later.

" let's walk, I still have to take you to my favorite place here "
