...
After a nice breakfast, the 4 of us set off for our next destination, Vermillion City, but not before making a stop at Pokémon Tech.
With that said, we set off, at least until we reached the entrance of Route 5.
"Wait a minute" – Celeste said suddenly.
"What's wrong?" – I asked curiously.
Roxanne was also curious to know what Celeste wanted to do now.
"If I'm right if we go this way, we'll arrive to Saffron City" - Celeste said.
"Yes, but... What about that?" – Roxanne asked.
"Well, our first stop should be Pokémon Tech" – Celeste said.
"Oh, that, don't worry, the Pokémon Tech is located before you arrive to Saffron City, besides, we'll go around Saffron City, it's better than crossing it on foot, it's a very crowded city, so most trainers prefer to go around it, unless they want to challenge Sabrina" - Roxanne said.
I see, I guess it makes sense, Saffron City is the capital of the Kanto region and therefore the most urbanized and crowded city in the whole region, I guess most trainer prefer to go around it to avoid all that or it's just tradition to do it or something like that, anyway, I prefer to go around it too, I don't want to see the city until I win my fifth badge.
"Okay, then let's go" – I nodded.
Both girls nodded and we headed to the Pokémon Tech.
…
In the meantime, in a place not far from there.
In a tree very close to Cerulean City, Team Rocket was located, which had a kind of headphones that allowed them to hear what Ash and his girls were saying from afar, simply technology from the Pokémon world, don't give it any more importance.
"Have you heard that, nya?" - asked Meowth.
"Loud and clear" - Jessie nodded.
"The brat and his companions head straight to Vermillion City, but first they'll make a stop at the Pokémon Tech" - James said.
"That's right, but what they don't know is that a trap awaits them" – Jessie smiled.
"But first we have to dig it up, nya!" – Meowth exclaimed.
"Right, let's go, if we hurry, we'll get there before them!" – James exclaimed.
Then, the three of them went for a run.
…
Somewhere along Route 5, Jessie, James, and Meowth were digging a trap.
"Are you sure they'll fall into this trap, Meowth?" – Jessie asked.
"That's right, it's too simple, no one would fall for something so stupid" – James nodded.
"Fools, I'm an expert in the delicate art of camouflage, you'll see that when this is all over, I'll camouflage it so well that you won't notice, nya" – Meowth said.
"Ok, let's suppose we believe you, how do we know they're going to pass through here?" – Jessie asked.
"That's easy, nya, because it's the only way to arrive to the Pokémon Tech" - Meowth said.
"Good plan, Meowth" – James said.
"Well done, this time we will surely catch that Pikachu" – Jessie nodded.
The three had been following Ash and her friends, but until now, they had no chance to get ahead of their movements, as they lost sight of them in the MT. Moon, they were supposed to go through the normal path, like all trainers, however, at some point along the way they disappeared and only saw them again when they left the Pokémon gym.
"Yes!" – the three of them nodded happily.
Then, they continued digging their trap while imagining how their boss would reward them for such a great feat.
…
With Ash and his girls.
We had been walking for a while along Route 5 while following the only path to get to Pokémon Tech, which, by the way, was made entirely of soil, not like the path of the MT. Moon.
"Are you sure this is the only way?" - asked Roxanne curiously.
"Ehem, of course, I looked at it last night while you were... I looked at it last night while I was bored" – Celeste said hurriedly.
"Haa... okay, let's continue, by the way, how long will it take us to get to Pokémon Tech?" – Roxanne asked.
"I'm curious too" – I nodded.
"It's very close, just 4 hours" - Celeste said.
The truth is that, considering everything we had walked, it was actually quite close.
"Oh, I guess that would have amaze me before, but after walking so much... I'm no longer amazed" – Roxanne said.
"Did you never go on an adventure? I mean, you're a gym leader, maybe you had to go on adventures or something" - I asked.
"No, that's not how they choose gym leaders, to be a gym leader you have to take an extremely hard test, it's something like an exam that proves your skills as a trainer, in fact, believe it or not, the exam is very difficult to pass and only 1% of all those who take it, they pass the exam and you can't always be a gym leader, many have to go to regions far from theirs while others have to wait until the former gym leader retires" – Roxanne explained.
Surprisingly, it's just like I thought it would be.
"I see, interesting" – I nodded.
But just when Celeste was going to say something, suddenly, something strange happened, it was almost instantaneous, the truth is that we fell into a kind of hole.
"Ouch! What the hell happened here?" – I complained.
"Watch out, Ash!" – Celeste said.
I was still disoriented from the previous blow, so I couldn't react in time, what happened? The ground beneath us cracked and we fell down a gaping hole as we screamed.
"Ahhhhhhh!" – we all shouted.
…
Meanwhile, with the Team Rocket.
"Didn't you say the plan would work?" – Jessie asked with a frown.
"How could I foresee that there would be anything under the hole we dug? That's impossible to know, nya!" – Meowth exclaimed.
"This plan wasn't good from the beginning, I think we should have bought that cool robot we saw at headquarters..." – James said.
"It was too expensive!" – Jessie and Meowth shouted.
"Well, now we've wasted the money we've spent on that expensive shovel and we have almost no money left to eat this month!" – James complained.
"Don't worry, there's a solution to this" - Jessie said.
"Which one?" – both boys asked.
"Simple, we'll wait a while and then we'll dive down the hole, wherever they landed, we'll fall into the same place" - Jessie said.
"That's scary, nya! Haven't you seen how huge that hole is?" – Meowth said scared.
"I said we'll do it and there's no more talking, we can't waste the money!" – Jessie said furiously.
Seeing her like this, neither of them could say a single word against her and they simply accepted their fate.
…
In the hole.
Luckily for our heroes, they didn't fall down the hole vertically, but, for some strange reason, they fell down a kind of stone slide, so they reached the ground without any scratches, just the fright of having fallen through such a big hole...
There, the 4 of them lay on the ground, fainting from the impression of suddenly falling down such a huge hole.
"Ouch, what happened?" – Ash wondered.
He was the first to get up.
I didn't know what had happened, I was confused and disoriented, I didn't remember very well what had happened, I just remember that we suddenly fell into a hole and that, the next instant we fell through a huge hole... Hold on...
"Celeste, Roxanne, Pikachu!" – I shouted in a hurry.
They too had fallen through the hole and unlike me, they didn't have the luck of a protagonist!
I quickly got up, but when I saw the three of them lying on the cold stone floor, unconscious, my heart almost stopped with fright.
"Girls!" – I shouted.
I quickly went to check the pulse of the three and thanks to Arceus they were fine, they had no apparent injuries and the pulse was normal, they were just unconscious.
"Thank you, thank you very much, Arceus" – I said happily.
Now, I just have to wait for the three of them to wake up to see what we should do next.
