As soon as his grandfather was gone, Liam's unease returned. He couldn't shake off the feeling that something was amiss. He threw off the covers and carefully got down from the bed, his head bandage a reminder of the accident. Despite his grandfather's assurances, Liam felt an overwhelming urge to see his mother. He was convinced that she was somewhere in the hospital, being treated, just as his grandfather had said.
With a determined look on his face, Liam left the cabin, his small feet padding softly on the hospital floor. "Mommy will be in this hospital," he thought to himself, "and I'm going to find Mommy."
Liam's quest to find his mother had brought him to the operating room. As he turned a corner, he noticed his father standing outside the door, facing away from him. With a wave of hope, Liam hurried towards his father, his small feet making quick sounds against the floor with urgency.
