Chapter Sixty-Four: Family

The Princess glanced at her brother and the young Mage, then she sighed. Such had been their dynamic for the ten years they've known each other.

One wanted control and flattery, the other wanted to be left alone and doesn't flatter. That's why she wanted to carry the conversation earlier but Zenith ignored her.

"But we are really happy that you came back to us." She chipped in when the silence lingered. "I thought you'd stay at Elder's realm—"

"I was tempted to," Zenith replied. "But I have duties."

The King's smile faded to a genuine one. "Don't push yourself now that the war is over. You can always visit anytime."

Zenith sighed. Why did the King think his duties involved visiting him? "Did you have something to tell me?" He could bet there was none.

"No." the King relaxed on his throne. "But we're family, right? We don't need to have a reason to see each other. Ah, and I prepared a feast as promised."
