Mr. Herbert had actually left the mercenary months before Layla's birth, he's said to have married a nurse but they were apart because she served in another realm.
"So he's no longer a mercenary and… got stabbed by a former subordinate and bled to death." This had an an asterisk and the Manager had stated that it wasn't a factual information.
