Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: The Objective

Locke and Neptune both wandered around the forest, planning on finding some members for their secret organization.

But as they were traversing through the forest, they felt that they weren't the only ones around.

"Do you feel something, Neptune?" Locke said, observing his surroundings.

"Yup, you're not the only one who senses that weird vibe..." Neptune said, gripping tightly to his trident, preparing himself for any incoming attack.

They suddenly heard rattling from the bushes and suddenly, a sword was launched with Neptune blocking the attack with his trident.

But then, the area was suddenly filled with smoke, much to Locke and Neptune's surprise.

From the smoke, there came a shadowy cloaked figure, armed with a sword, with scary eyes, it was at that moment that Locke and Neptune nearly felt fear.

"Looks like we got ourselves cornered by an Assassin..." Neptune said.

"Then again, if we beat her now, we can make her as our ally..." Locke said standing up, clearing up the smoke with his spells.

The assassin swiftly charged towards Locke with Neptune attacking her from behind, slamming the bottom tip of the handle of his trident on the assassin's head.

Locke proceeded to chain the assassin with his chains from using his spells.

"Now our assassin here is quite a young beautiful girl..." Locke said, holding her chin.

"Back off..." The assassin said.

"Oh it looks like she regained her senses." Neptune chuckled.

"Who are you two?" The assassin asked.

"You may call me as Locke, I am a sorcerer, not an official sorcerer but you get the point and over here, is my associate Neptune..." Locke said.

"You know we could use your particular set of skills in a group that we are forming, so..." Neptune said.

"Will you join us?" Neptune asked the assassin, waiting for her response.

"Hmmm, needless to say you two have impressed me with your combat skills and since you've managed to defeat me, I have no choice but to follow you, as I believe in my honor..." The assassin said standing up.

"Very well, now Locke...what's our next move?" Neptune asked.

"I'll go find some more members for our group, but for now, I guess you two can go ahead and locate the whereabouts of that bastard girl..." Locke said frustratingly.

"Ah that girl..." Neptune stated.

"Who is this girl you guys are talking about?" The assassin asked.

"This girl is someone that we despise, she has defeated us before and now we want payback..." Locke said, explaining the situation to the assassin.

"I see so in that case, I will gladly assist you in battle..." The assassin said, stepping forward.

"Very well, let us go and find her and get our revenge..." Locke said.

Meanwhile back in Elderith, Athena was sharpening her blade, seemingly preparing herself for the next battle she will face.

Oskar and Amara suddenly passed by, and approached towards Athena.

"Looks like someone's ready for battle..." Oskar said.

"That's a pretty nice sword you've got..." Amara stated.

"Thanks, it's a really trusty tool that I've been using ever since the Eldenmorian War..." Athena chuckled.

"I know..." Creo said as he came forward, approaching towards Athena and the others.

"Oh you're here as well Creo?" Athena said, as she wasn't expecting Creo to arrive so soon.

"I came back after wrapping things up in my workshop, do you miss me that much?" Creo said, sitting next to her.

"Since when were you the type of person to flirt, Creo?" Oskar chuckled.

"I'm not flirting with her, I'm just asking her a question that's all..." Creo replied.

"Enough is enough, let's just focus...anyways do you have a mission for us today, Creo?" Athena asks him, waiting for his response.

"Hmmm...actually now that you mention it, yes, I do have a mission for you three and I'll be tagging along with you guys..." Creo smiled.

"Well that's quite surprising, I thought you had other things to do..." Athena said, confronting Creo.

"Hmph, can't just a guy have some fun with his friends, come on let us go!" Creo said, leading the group.

The four of them eventually set out of the kingdom to go on a mission.

"So tell us exactly what mission we are gonna do?" Amara asked.

"I guess it's time I must relay the news to you three..." Creo sighed, stopping in front of them, turning around, facing them.

"You see...where do I begin...we are in the middle of a secret war..." Creo stated.

"A war between superhumans...our enemies are getting stronger and they seek the same thing that we are going to find..." Creo continued.

"And that is?" Athena asked.

"They seek after this artifact known as the Mystic Scroll... "

"What does it exactly do?" Oskar asked.

"I'll tell you something...it's what we want..." Neptune said, attacking them from behind.

"So you're still alive huh?" Athena sighed, drawing out her blade.

"Well I've been better..." Neptune continued.

The assassin appeared behind him, revealing herself before the four.

"I see you've brought yourself an accomplice..." Oskar chuckled.

"It's more of a partnership than being a lackey..." The assassin replied, throwing a dagger at Oskar.

Creo proceeds to block the dagger using his sword.

"Not bad..." The assassin remarked, charging towards Creo aggressively.

Oskar interferes and immediately attempts to punch the assassin with Neptune blocking his attack.

Athena confronts Neptune, with the two fighters clashing their weapons with one another.

"What's so important about this artifact?" Athena grunted, attempting to kick Neptune.

"Hmph, that would be a waste of time for me to explain, besides you and your group are in the middle of our way..." Neptune replied, blocking her kick, pushing her aside.

Amara proceeds to use one of her potions to become invisible and used the opportunity to make a sudden attack against the enemies.

The trick was effective until Locke arrives, with him using his spells to reveal Amara's trick.

"No way, you're still alive..." Athena said in shock.

"I've already told you, I'm a man who knows how to deceive his opponents..." Locke chuckled, casting a spell on Athena and his group.

"Take cover!" Creo said, using his powers to create a shield and block Locke's attack.

"Impressive work, you have proven to be quite a difficult opponent for us..." Locke said.

"But unfortunately we won't stay long for any much more chit chat, so we'll just finish the job shall we?" Locke said.

Both Oskar and Neptune exchange blows but Oskar eventually subdued Neptune by disarming his weapon and grabbing him by chokehold.

"Hmph, that ain't good..." Locke said.

"Well as much as I like our battle to continue but me and my associates will be off now..." Locke sighed.

"Come now Neptune..." Locke said, giving off a gesture towards Neptune

Neptune eventually got back up to punch Oskar and grab his trident.

"You too as well..." Locke said, looking at the assassin.

The assassin sheathes her blades and went ahead to follow the two.

"Wait this isn't over yet!!!" Athena shouted.

"We'll see each other next time..." Locke said, opening a portal.

"Farewell..." Locke said, closing the portal behind them.

"There's always a next time Athena, for now we must go back and recover from this incident..." Creo sighed, placing his hand over Athena's shoulder.

"I guess you're right...it's a shame we couldn't have stopped him at this very moment..." Athena replied, turning to face Creo.

The four of them got back up on their feet and exited the forest, empty-handed.

"I'm still curious about what that scroll does?" Athena said.

"Maybe it's a scroll that has the ability to grant its user its own wishes?" Amara replied.

"Unfortunately that isn't the case..." Creo said, as he stopped whilst they were walking.

He turned around to face them as he began to explain some information he learned about the Mystic Scroll.

"So let me break it down, this artifact, the Mystic Scroll is truly worth fighting for, it's power is to allow the user to manipulate and rewrite how reality will flow..." Creo said.

"Are you joking, cause this is some serious level threat..." Athena said.

"Yes I'm very certain..." Creo replied.

"Which is why we must get it quickly before it falls into enemy hands...that will be our objective...do you guys understand?" Creo said.

"Yes, we understand..." The three said in unison.

"Ok it's good that you guys understand the situation, now we must first begin planning it by tomorrow, I'll see you guys at the meeting place..." Creo said.

"Alright!" The three said.

All four of them parted ways as they decided to rest for the day.

Meanwhile Locke and the others headed for a hiding spot to further plan out their way in obtaining the scroll.

And so the battle for the Mystic Scroll has begun, which faction will ultimately win, will it be on the side of Athena or will it be the side of the enemies, stay tuned to find out.
