Iris looked dumbfounded when she heard Clarissa's words. The young lady just informed her that Penelope had been murdered in prison. It was a shock to her, knowing how powerful her background was. However, it didn't come as much of a surprise to her, anyway.
"This is not an outcome I expected, but Penelope might have been caught up in a struggle that had absolutely nothing to do with her. Who knows? Maybe she was just at the wrong place at the wrong time."
"You mean, she went to find trouble with powerful enemies?" Cyrina asked Iris, not sure what she meant by being at the wrong place at the wrong time. They all knew Penelope was a coward, and finding trouble when no one was there to protect her was highly unlikely a step she would take. It wasn't in her nature at all.
