"Aunt, can't you be a little nicer to me? You're my actual aunt!" Qin Bao'er pouted, her face like a bitter melon. Being forced to study was worse than facing a mountain of blades or a sea of flames for her.
"I'm being nice to you because I want you to succeed in the future. It's settled, I'll find a tutor for you!" Liu Mingyan said seriously, not joking at all.
"Brother Xingchen, can't you control your subordinate? Don't let her keep picking on me." Qin Bao'er complained, realizing her good days were over, and she'd have a tutor overseeing her studies at night.
"That's beyond my control. It's after work hours now, so as the boss, my words don't hold much weight." Ning Xingchen shrugged, pretending to be helpless.
"Hmph, having a tutor isn't unacceptable, but I only want Teacher Su. If anyone else teaches me, I won't study!" Qin Bao'er huffed.
"Alright, then we'll ask Teacher Su to tutor you in the evenings." Liu Mingyan agreed without hesitation.
Qin Bao'er was dumbfounded. She hadn't expected her aunt to agree so quickly without any hesitation.
"Xingchen, since you get along well with Teacher Su, you should contact her about this." Liu Mingyan said with a meaningful look at Ning Xingchen.
"We're not that close, actually." Ning Xingchen coughed lightly, knowing Liu Mingyan must have misunderstood something.
After dinner, it was already late. Ning Xingchen pretended to go home to test Liu Mingyan's reaction.
Just as Ning Xingchen was about to get up, Liu Mingyan said, "Xingchen, it's so late. You should stay here. There's a bed in the study."
"Alright." Ning Xingchen agreed before Liu Mingyan could finish her sentence, his response taking less than a second.
"Brother Xingchen, the bed in the study is small. Why don't you sleep in my bed?" Qin Bao'er, with a face full of innocence, grabbed Ning Xingchen's hand.
"Well... I'm not sleepy yet." Ning Xingchen actually wanted to sleep with Liu Mingyan.
"No problem, we can play online games!"
"You should go to bed. Don't bother your Brother Xingchen. He doesn't need to get up early for school, but you do." Liu Mingyan pulled Qin Bao'er into her room.
After coaxing Qin Bao'er to sleep, which took half an hour, Liu Mingyan exited the room and saw Ning Xingchen sitting on the sofa, smoking, with a smile on his face as he looked at her.
"You should rest early too. Staying up late is bad for your health. I'm going to bed." Liu Mingyan said shyly, feeling embarrassed under Ning Xingchen's heated gaze that roamed over her sensitive areas.
"Okay, I'll go to bed too."
With that, Ning Xingchen walked over and hugged Liu Mingyan from behind. Holding her soft, delicate body made him feel a thrill.
"You're in the wrong room!" Liu Mingyan teased, pushing Ning Xingchen gently out of a sense of maidenly modesty.
"Darling, stop pretending. You know what I want!" Ning Xingchen smiled mischievously.
"Not tonight, it's my period." Liu Mingyan quickly found an excuse.
"That excuse is too old. If I fall for it again, I'd be an idiot!" Ning Xingchen laughed, inhaling the faint fragrance of Liu Mingyan's hair.
"It's true!" Liu Mingyan insisted.
"I don't believe you. Let me see!" Ning Xingchen said, picking her up and heading to the bedroom.
That night, they spent a long time together before finally falling asleep, though they didn't go all the way.
...
The next morning, Ning Xingchen arrived at the company and asked An Yuqing to notify the planning department for a meeting.
Ten minutes later, Ning Xingchen and An Yuqing entered the conference room together.
Ning Xingchen sat at the front and center, casually glancing around at everyone. The large rectangular table was almost entirely occupied.
Ning Xingchen noticed a man in his early thirties sitting to his right. He knew this man well: Hu Chunyu, the head of the planning department. Hu Chunyu was known for being arrogant, looking down on others due to his talent.
After the meeting began, Ning Xingchen skipped the usual motivational opening remarks and got straight to the point.
"I've called this meeting to hear the progress on the planning of the Battle of Kings mobile game."
"Mr. Ning, our planning department has been working according to your ideas, planning the details and background stories of the Battle of Kings." Hu Chunyu, as the head of the planning department, reported the work progress to Ning Xingchen.
Before Hu Chunyu could finish, Ning Xingchen interrupted him, as he was saying a lot of unnecessary things that didn't help the progress of the game's release.
"Do you have a complete plan?" Ning Xingchen asked coldly.
"Not yet." Hu Chunyu shook his head.
"Follow all my ideas and submit a complete plan in three days." Time was tight. Who knew if Tianmei Studio might release a similar game earlier? Missing the opportunity would make it hard to make money later.
"Mr. Ning, three days is a bit rushed, isn't it?" Hu Chunyu complained.
"Overtime pay will be ten times higher. If there aren't enough people, hire more immediately. As the head of the planning department, if you can't complete such a simple plan, it's your problem. The company doesn't support idle people. If it's not done in three days, I won't hesitate to replace the director."
Hearing this, Hu Chunyu broke out in a cold sweat and quickly shut his mouth, not daring to say more.
"Meeting adjourned!" Ning Xingchen said lightly, getting up and leaving the conference room with An Yuqing following him.
After Ning Xingchen left, everyone in the conference room looked at each other, especially Hu Chunyu, who was anxious, realizing he'd have to work late for the next few days.
Back in his office, Ning Xingchen thought for a moment and then said to An Yuqing, "Secretary An, who's in charge of HR in our company?"
"Mr. Ning, it's Sister Duan," An Yuqing said softly.
"Okay, please call her in."
A while later, a woman in her forties knocked and entered. Despite her heavy makeup attempting to make her look younger, the marks of time were still evident on her face.
"Sister Duan, I hope I'm not interrupting your work," Ning Xingchen said with a smile.
"Mr. Ning, you're too kind. My job is to create value and profit for you." Sister Duan spoke skillfully, her voice soothing and pleasant, which was why she could manage the company's HR so well.
"Sister Duan, I heard you used to work at a headhunting company. Can you find me an expert in planning and marketing?" Ning Xingchen got straight to the point.
"Mr. Ning, consider it done. I'll get on it right away!" Sister Duan thought, Hu Chunyu must have offended Mr. Ning somehow and was now in trouble.
