Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Lin Xun'er Got Jealous

"Xun'er, Xun'er," Ning Xingchen called out twice, but Lin Xun'er walked towards the door without looking back. He tried to grab her hand, but she quickly avoided it, leaving Ning Xingchen feeling awkward.

Having no choice, Ning Xingchen hurried after her. No matter how big the misunderstanding, he needed to clear it up.

He rushed out the door and quickly caught up with Lin Xun'er, smiling as he said, "Xun'er, don't misunderstand. That girl has nothing to do with me. She's actually my junior."

"Ning Xingchen, you don't need to explain. To be honest, even if she were your wife, it has nothing to do with me," Lin Xun'er turned to look at Ning Xingchen, her tone cold.

"Xun'er, you know how I feel about you. Please don't be angry, okay?" Ning Xingchen grabbed Lin Xun'er's arm.

"Let go of me. I need to go to the restroom. If you insist on following me, I don't mind," Lin Xun'er glared at Ning Xingchen.

"Alright, I'll wait for you outside," Ning Xingchen sighed. Lin Xun'er's reaction was definitely out of jealousy.

"Hmph, it's true that men become bad when they have money. It's only been a few days, and you've already found a pretty girl. You're just part of the appearance club, always attracted to good-looking girls," Lin Xun'er muttered to herself, looking a bit forlorn.

When Lin Xun'er came out of the restroom, Ning Xingchen quickly approached her and said, "Xun'er, my relationship with Zhou Sitong isn't what you think."

Seeing Ning Xingchen repeatedly and sincerely explaining, Lin Xun'er believed he wasn't lying. However, seeing him with another girl still made her unhappy.

"It's normal for you to have a girlfriend. You don't need to care about my feelings," Lin Xun'er said, somewhat insincerely.

"Of course I care about your opinion because you're my first wife!"

"Are you kidding again?" Lin Xun'er frowned slightly.

"Alright, alright, I'll stop. I just got a call from Yao Le. He said there's a high school reunion this weekend. Are you going?"

"I'll see if I have time. Yao Le called me too," Lin Xun'er replied.

"What? How does that guy have your number? Xun'er, Yao Le is not a good guy. You should stay away from him. Back in high school, he was dating a girl in our class while also seeing someone from the next class," Ning Xingchen, who was close to Yao Le, knew his true nature well.

"How do you know so much? It seems like you and Yao Le are birds of a feather," Lin Xun'er looked at Ning Xingchen meaningfully.

Hearing this, Ning Xingchen chuckled awkwardly, realizing that Lin Xun'er was still jealous because of Zhou Sitong.

"Well, I just heard it by chance. Hey, Xun'er, wait for me!"

Lin Xun'er's lips curved into a faint smile, her face radiantly beautiful. She enjoyed watching Ning Xingchen trying to come up with serious-sounding stories.

When they returned to the ward, Ning Xingchen was surprised to see how well Zhou Sitong was getting along with his mother. They were chatting happily, clearly enjoying each other's company. It seemed Zhou Sitong had a knack for getting along with elders.

Lin Xun'er, however, still harbored hostility towards Zhou Sitong, especially since Zhou Sitong had openly claimed to be Ning Xingchen's girlfriend.

"Sitong, didn't you say you had classes earlier?" Ning Xingchen gave Zhou Sitong a look, signaling her to avoid causing more trouble.

"Earlier? Did I say that?" Zhou Sitong feigned innocence, pretending not to understand.

...

Just then, Ning Xingchen's father, Ning Kang, walked in from outside, saying with a smile, "All the paperwork is done. Juan, we can leave the hospital now."

Seeing Ning Xingchen's father, Zhou Sitong quickly stepped forward and said, "Hello, uncle, my name is Zhou Sitong, and I'm Ning Xingchen's girlfriend."

Her words stunned Ning Kang, who looked puzzled.

"Son, who is this girl?" Ning Kang asked, looking confused.

Ning Xingchen had to explain again that Zhou Sitong was his junior, not his girlfriend.

Zhou Sitong pouted cutely, feeling a bit unhappy. She guessed that her senior was so eager to explain because of the pretty girl named Lin Xun'er.

In terms of appearance, Lin Xun'er and Zhou Sitong were equally stunning. Both were unbelievably beautiful, around the same age, with only a year or two difference. Deciding who was more attractive would be impossible, even for a deity.

Lin Xun'er had an ethereal, pure beauty, like a fairy untouched by the mundane world. Zhou Sitong was lively and direct, youthful and adorable.

Both were wonderful, and Ning Xingchen wanted to marry them both, but his feelings for Lin Xun'er were deeper at the moment. So, he had to put Zhou Sitong off for now.

After taking his mother home, Zhou Sitong insisted on tagging along, seemingly planning to stick to Ning Xingchen all day.

Ning Xingchen had bought another villa in Junting Kaixuan for his parents, just a kilometer away from where he lived.

Ning Kang and Su Juan could hardly believe it. Their son had bought them a villa, a luxury mansion. It felt like a dream, and they were in disbelief.

Lin Xun'er wasn't surprised. She even helped explain, saying Ning Xingchen had earned the money by trading stocks.

Ning Xingchen gave Lin Xun'er a grateful look, her understanding warming his heart.

No matter what, Ning Xingchen's filial piety moved Lin Xun'er. When someone becomes wealthy, the first thing they should do is be filial to their parents, then help relatives and friends, and finally give back to society. This aligns with Confucian values of extending care from oneself to others.

The villa was already fully furnished with luxurious European aristocratic style. The furniture and appliances were complete and top-notch.

Given that his mother was still recovering and needed care, Ning Xingchen had hired ten servants: cooks, masseuses, and cleaners.

With their son doing so well, Ning Kang and Su Juan were all smiles, beaming with pride.

"Xun'er, why don't you stay here too? There are plenty of rooms, and it's close to your workplace," Su Juan invited Lin Xun'er.

Ning Xingchen eagerly awaited Lin Xun'er's response, hoping she would agree.

"Auntie, now that you have so many servants to take care of you, I'm relieved. I'll still go home, though, since my mom is alone, and I don't want her to feel lonely," Lin Xun'er explained.

Ning Xingchen wanted to say something but held back. Lin Xun'er wasn't the type to be vain. She was pure and kind, and she didn't want to accept any benefits from Ning Xingchen without a confirmed relationship.

Ning Xingchen's hopes were dashed. He realized it would take more time for Lin Xun'er to fully accept him and become his girlfriend. He couldn't rush it.
