Chapter - 18: The Power of Bao

--------

"It's your moment to shine, Stormy. Show everyone the power I've given you!" I exclaimed, feeling her energy swell behind me, a wave of power intensifying with each passing second.

"Yes!" she replied enthusiastically, her voice vibrating with determination. Suddenly, a gigantic storm began to form around her, with dark clouds gathering and lightning flashing in a magnificent display of power and beauty.

Contrary to what many might think about the Trix, it was Stormy who possessed the greatest potential of the three. Not that it was a surprise, considering she had absolute control over a force of nature.

I had spent too much time focusing on Icy, the toughest of the trio, and on Darcy, the seductress with her mind-controlling powers. But Stormy was a rough diamond that I could shape as I wished.

"Take this, ugly blue face!" she shouted fiercely, launching her attack at a foe standing before us.

He remained surprisingly calm, absorbing the electric energy that surrounded him. Around him, the environment transformed into a world of lightning, creating an electric and tense atmosphere.

"What do you think you are, a Dragon Slayer?" I spat, watching the scene in surprise since I hadn't remembered he could do something like this.

Had I underestimated him? Most likely, considering he was a villain from a cartoon, a universe where his true prowess remained hidden behind the facade of a flashy character.

His ability to absorb the electrical energy from Stormy's lightning proved to be more effective than I had imagined. As the power accumulated around him, a wide grin spread across his face, an expression of triumph that practically gleamed.

In an instant, Tchang Zu's calmness transformed into pure aggression. With a swift and decisive gesture, he unleashed all the energy he had gathered, releasing an attack far more powerful than we had anticipated. Whirling bolts of lightning erupted from his body, forming a violent storm of energy that surged towards us at an impressive speed.

"You're nothing but bugs to crush!" he roared, as the electric discharges rained down in our direction, striking the ground with the force of an unstoppable tempest. His fury was palpable, and the energy he exuded seemed sufficient to obliterate everything in its path.

More than just lightning, his attack could be considered pure plasma, and honestly, I was shocked he could do something like this with such ease. It made me realize that one should never underestimate cartoon villains.

"Maxwell?!" I felt Stormy's panic rising as she pressed against my shoulders for protection. It was a good feeling since I could feel the sensation of her breasts against me.

"Really, some creatures can be so stupid," I commented with a broad smile, trying to mask the growing tension. "Do you really think I didn't have a plan in case the attack didn't work?"

My body began to change drastically, almost as if it were an automatic response to the impending threat. From my back emerged several black tentacles, moving like live snakes.

"Perfect," I murmured to myself, as the tentacles stretched and unfurled, preparing to stand like lightning rods and catch the burst of energy he had unleashed against us.

"Really, did you think you'd be the only one with an ace up your sleeve?" Each time a bolt of lightning struck my tentacles, I felt a surge of energy traveling through them and rising within my body, bringing with it a growing sense of euphoria.

My body transformed under the pressure of the energy I was absorbing. Each electric shock that the demon dragon hurled at me through the black tentacles sprouting from my body was converted into pure power.

Then it happened again; my Red Spellbook, floating beside me, began to glow intensely, making me grin widely, a smile that couldn't help but break across my lips.

I paused for a moment, watching the book float next to me. The pages began to flip on their own, as if searching for something, and the red glow it emitted grew more and more intense.

It was an almost tangible feeling: a magical connection far stronger than I had ever experienced before. When it finally stopped on a page, I saw that two new spells had materialized in the book, written in brilliant red characters.

Two new spells, each with unique potential. Most notably, the last one would become my trump card, to be used in the most critical moments when the odds were stacked against me, given the extraordinary power it possessed.

The Third Spell: Jikerdor

[Generates a sphere that moves slowly through the air and, once close to the target, emits a powerful magnetic field. This field inexorably attracts the opponent toward any nearby metallic objects, making it difficult for them to move or defend themselves.]

It was a rather useless spell if not used in combination with others, which was why it wasn't often utilized in the original series. Its effectiveness depended on the presence of metallic objects nearby.

However, it was better than nothing, as it could enhance any type of electric attack, and that shouldn't be underestimated. Various ways to exploit it to my advantage were already coming to mind, making it much more useful.

But what truly intrigued me was the next spell. How could I ignore it when it held the power to destroy an entire planet at maximum strength, if not more?

Spell Learned

The Fourth Spell: Baou Zakeruga

[The most powerful attack of the Red Spellbook summons a gigantic dragon made of lightning. This dragon appears and launches itself at the target, enveloping it in its enormous jaws and destroying everything in its path, reducing the enemy to ashes in an instant.]

Yes! It was finally in my hands. The moment I had been waiting for since I acquired the Red Spell Book had come to pass. I longed for this spell in my magical arsenal, and fortune smiled upon me by introducing me to a being capable of controlling lightning.

But the situation made me realize something: the description of my disadvantage was more accurate than I wanted to admit. Despite all my preparation, it was better not to become too arrogant.

Honestly, I wanted to use my osmonian powers to absorb Tchang Zu's DNA; this was a unique opportunity to gain devastating strength, but I held back since, in the long run, it would be better for me.

I didn't want to reveal more than necessary, not at that moment. A partial transformation, even just to tap into that power, would have highlighted my abilities too much, and I couldn't afford to show my cards so soon.

"Maxwell! He's attacking again!" Stormy's urgent voice brought me back to reality. Turning, I saw Tchang Zu with his arms raised to the sky, as the storm around him seemed to respond to his will, condensing above him like a hellish vortex ready to unleash.

"Ah, so you've finally lost your patience?" I commented indifferently, a sarcastic smirk on my lips. "I truly am the worst enemy you could have encountered; I almost feel sorry for you."

I don't think it's a good idea to provoke him!' Stormy told me, as she clung tighter to my body, and I couldn't help but take a handful of those ass that continued to rifle under my gaze.

'Ah,' moaned Stormy, leaning her head on my shoulder to hide the expression of pleasure that was actually fascinating me. I can't believe you're doing this,' she said, lifting her gaze to me with a mixture of annoyance and lust.

"You need to have more faith in me, my little witch. I have everything under control," I replied, trying to reassure her with a smile.

"You say that, but that being is preparing an attack that could destroy the entire city," Stormy shot back, crossing her arms and casting worried glances at the opening sky. "Are you really sure you have the strength to face him?"

I didn't respond immediately, feeling the weight of her concern. The words about to leave my mouth weren't simple; they were charged with all the emotions bottled up inside me.

"Baou Zakeruga!" I exclaimed, my voice booming in the air like thunder, as the sky tore in two, as if a wound had opened in the very fabric of the world.

From that fissure, a divine beast began to materialize, a colossal being shimmering with pure lightning rising majestically, an electric dragon, a creature of incredible proportions, so large it seemed to cover the very horizon.

Stormy looked at me, her eyes wide. "Oh, wow. This is... huge!" she exclaimed, a mix of awe and admiration in her tone.

It was as if lightning had become flesh and bone, the roar of the dragon resonating like the thunder of a thousand storms, and the air around us seemed to implode under the pressure of its power.

Its jaws opened wide, enormous and unstoppable, ready to devour everything in front of it. Tchang Zu, for the first time, lost all traces of arrogance. I saw him stiffen, his eyes widening in an expression of pure terror.

He tried to react, attempting to draw on his own energy to fend off the assault, but it was too late. The lightning dragon lunged at him with a speed that defied logic, every law of physics.

The impact was apocalyptic. The dragon enveloped Tchang Zu in its massive jaws, and the entire world seemed to explode in a whirlwind of lightning. The electrical energy discharged upon him with a fury that shook the ground and made the mountains tremble in the distance.

The sound was deafening, a rumble that seemed to come from the beginning of time itself. Tchang Zu's body was completely engulfed by the dragon's jaws, and every trace of resistance dissolved in a flash of blinding light.

The electric energy consumed the demon dragon, reducing it to nothing more than ash and dust. The ground beneath him disintegrated, and for a long moment, all that remained was silence.

When the roar ceased and the light faded, nothing of Tchang Zu remained. His body had been completely annihilated. I found myself standing in the center of a smoking crater, the air still charged with residual electricity.

But it wasn't over yet. As I surveyed the surroundings, I noticed that there were still many demon sorcerers scattered across the battlefield. I shouldn't have been surprised; not as long as the interdimensional portal above my head remained open.

However, my previous attack had had the desired effect: the battle had slowed down. The demons, deprived of their commander Tchang Zu, seemed less coordinated, more hesitant in their movements.

This had allowed the fairies to catch their breath, although fatigue was evident on their faces. They were nearing the limits of their physical abilities, but now they at least had a chance to recover and finish this battle once and for all.

I couldn't allow the portal to remain open any longer. I knew that if it wasn't closed, we would soon face new reinforcements, perhaps even more powerful ones.

With a decisive motion of my arm, I summoned a long blue bow, made of the pure energy emanating from the power I had absorbed from the interdimensional portal, but I had no other choice. I had to close it with a single attack.

In my mind, I thought of the Quincy from Bleach, their attacks. I was determined to replicate that same devastating precision. I felt the energy flowing through me as I formed an arrow of pure luminous power between my fingers.

The arrow shone with an intense, almost blinding light, and I aimed for the exact center of the portal, its epicenter. "Don't fail," I whispered to myself as I drew the bow, the arrow pulsing with power in my hands. Taking a deep breath, I let it fly.

The arrow shot through the air, a blue lightning bolt cutting through the sky with incredible speed. I held my breath as it traversed the portal, entering its core.

For a moment, everything seemed to freeze.

Then, with an immense roar, the portal began to collapse in on itself, a vortex of energy imploding inward. The demon sorcerers still present on Earth emitted cries of anguish as the connection to their dimension was severed.

In a matter of seconds, the energy of the portal dissipated, leaving the sky clear, devoid of that interdimensional threat. I knew I had won, but I couldn't let my guard down. The fairies, though exhausted, were still moving, trying to eliminate the remaining demons.

But without reinforcements, and with the portal closed, I knew we could finally prevail. However, it was better to deal with it immediately since I didn't want any unforeseen situations.

So, without wasting a moment, I focused, calling forth the power of my ice grimoire. I felt the icy energy growing within me as I raised my hand toward the sky and, with a simple command, whispered, "Jotunheim Blades."

Suddenly, the sky above us darkened, and hundreds of shimmering ice swords appeared high above, emanating a sharp cold that could be felt for miles.

With a decisive gesture of my hand, the swords launched downward, plummeting onto every remaining Demon Sorcerer on the field. The blades struck, piercing their bodies and freezing everything they touched.

The ground beneath their feet began to be covered with a layer of ice, as their final scream faded into the frost. In mere moments, the battlefield was cleared of my enemies, the Demon Sorcerers, their bodies frozen into ice statues that shattered into tiny fragments seconds later.

"Wow!" exclaimed Stormy, watching in awe at the result of my spell. "Couldn't you have done that earlier?"

"It's not that simple," I replied, breathless. "There were too many people before." I felt my body still shaken from the Baou Zakeruga spell, which not only consumed much more magical energy than I had anticipated, but had also drained me emotionally.

It was as if the attack had dragged out every ounce of anger and determination I had within me, leaving me empty and exhausted, something I needed to control before attempting to cast the spell again.

Moreover, the effect of the ice swords had been so devastating only because, when I use my grimoire, I receive a significant boost to all spells related to that element. Without that buff, the result would have been considerably less spectacular.

As I used my dragon nucleus to recover, a familiar voice interrupted me. I turned and saw the blonde and the redhead from the Winx landing beside me, their faces filled with surprise.

"Oh, you were the one who summoned that gigantic dragon!" said the blonde, scrutinizing me with a mix of curiosity and disbelief. It was clear this was the first time they had seen someone like me.

Trying to maintain my composure, I gave a slight bow. "Allow me to introduce myself. Maxwell," I said, while their magical outfits, reduced to mere rags, left little to the imagination. I tried to keep my gaze focused on their faces.

"Princess Stella of Solaria," replied the blonde proudly, then gestured to her friend beside her. "And this is my dear friend Bloom."

Bloom looked a bit nervous, her gaze flickering between me and the smoking crater I had created. Before I could say anything else, Stella stepped forward, a look of admiration in her eyes.

"Maxwell, you were truly amazing," Stella said gratefully. "Without your help, we wouldn't have made it." Then, with a proud smile, she added, "As a token of gratitude, I invite you to my Princess Ball, which will take place in a month."

For a moment, I remained silent, as Stella's words echoed in my mind for a few seconds before registering officially in my thoughts.

The Princess Ball? In a month? It couldn't really be that easy to gain their trust after a simple battle, could it?

Bloom, still a bit shaken, interjected, "Are you sure, Stella? We don't know him that well..."

But Stella was confident, her determination evident. "Yes, Bloom, I'm sure. Maxwell saved us along with all of Magix. I'm expecting him at Alfea in a month. Don't worry about transportation; I'll arrange it."

I accepted the invitation with a smile, holding back the satisfaction I felt. "I look forward to it," I said, my tone calm, but my mind was already elsewhere, thinking about the future, as this would be the perfect opportunity to get closer to the flame of the dragon.

After saying goodbye to the Winx, I rejoined the Trix. I let the Winx handle everything else since I still needed to find a place to spend the night; fortunately, I already had a place full of cute witches in mind.
