XAVIER'S ARC
BOOK ONE
CHAPTER THREE
ATTACK ON THE CRÓDER
.....
"I give up," Xavier said to himself.
"I'll run away from them tomorrow as they escort me," so he lays his head down on the sofa pillow to sleep.
As his eyes were closed, he heard something outside. It sounded like a huge bat flapping its wings. Correction, huge bats, he thought to himself.
.....
He got startled, jumped out of bed, and got ready for whatever was coming. He knew what it was.
Then Xavier saw the silhouettes of echo-howlers in each of the four windows in the living room. They rolled their wings around their bodies as they approached the window and broke through, transforming into their vampire forms the instant they were in.
There were shards of glass everywhere.
As they touched down, all four vampires slipped in a serious direction. Alternating their attacks, they cut Xavier in the middle, and each vampire landed punches as they passed him. Then they stopped, a vampire standing in each corner of the room as they stared at Xavier.
Xavier was weak from the constant punches he'd endured.
"I wondered why it stopped.". Thinking, he rubbed his palm over his neck and investigated his hand.
"Blood," he murmured. Suddenly. He felt drowsy. Then it collapsed to the ground.
"Decent work, everyone. Now let's take him to Count Julio. He'll deal with him himself," said one.
"Oh yes, he's going to be so glad, and we'll be so rewarded," shared the female.
The broad, more robust-looking vampire threw Xavi's slim body over his shoulder and said to the others, "Let's get out of here before we get into any kind of trouble.".
"Too late", said the fourth, one caught out before being blasted by Jesse blazing flame Wave, he got thrown back. His back hit the windowsill.
"You two take care of them. Jesterie, let's go.". The broad vampire said this as the female jumped out of the window.
"Wait. Bruno, stay and fight. Don't leave me with..." the skinny-looking vampire said, looking at his partner as he got up.
"What's wrong with fighting by my side, trickles?" He asked, dusting himself off
"For one. You're so weak, Tim. That female human was able to pin you down, huh? How about that? Is that reason enough for you?"
"Well, you're skinny. And feel. But you don't see me whining about that. Well, do you?"
Suddenly, there was an explosion. And both vampires were thrown out of their houses. As well as a substantial portion of the wall.
Peter Cavaro had used his exploding quiver of lightning bolts on them while they were arguing.
"Hmm, guess I'll be fixing that tomorrow, he said as he looked at the gaping hole in the living room. Well".
The vampires were out. But. Had already begun killing their own.
"Jessie, come see.". Peter pointed at them.
"Yes, we must be ready for them, and they are fully healed."
.
"What about Xavier? I think the others had kidnapped him. "
Suddenly, Marco said between them, "I'm going to get Xavier back.".
"Marco!" his parents yelled. In unison, but there was no use. He was far too gone to hear.
"Peter, what are those?" They just tapped her husband, pointing to some strange creatures in the sky heading their way.
"Oh no," Peter answered.

DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE KID!
"You two stop right there," Marco yelled. He came to a stop.
Boris and Jesterie turned around to see who had commanded them.
"Little boy, it is best if you go home. Back to bed.". Jesterie whispered in a calm, persuading, sweet voice.
"I said put Xavier down. What's up with you guys? What do you vampires want with him?"
"Oh, so, you're friends with this little runt," he said, throwing Xavier's body to the side.
"I'll tell him his friend died trying to save him. What was your name again?" he asked.
About to rush in and attack, five more vampires showed up. Marco wished for a fast daybreak, but the moon had merely passed halfway through the sky. They dropped off two bodies, Boris and Jesterie.
"Oh, nice reinforcements. It's sad to see you weren't in time to help those two.".
He stared at Trickles and Timmy as they lay on the ground with austere looks.
"Nevertheless, this should be fun to watch.". He smirked at Marco, then yelled, "Get the boy.".
Marco smirked back, thrilled at the relief that he'd been underestimated. Meaning he could surprise them with what he had coming.
"Time for me to go all out.".
As Marco said this, a flaming sword appeared in his left hand and an axe in his right, both being manipulated by the flame in his lantern.
"To me, it's time to sleep.".
All five vampires dashed straight at him. Marco was startled at their peculiar attack strategy. Handed. His hell, this axe at one of the charging vampires. With his right hand now free, Marco boosted himself upward out of that center. And landed on the other side right after the remaining four had converged. Where he once was.
"Well, that was unexpected. I have seen a lot of fighting techniques and strategies.".
He pulled his axe out of the shoulder of the vampire, and it hit.
"But a group of five charging at once at an opponent is so peculiar.".
The vampire on the ground tried to get up and attack. Then Marco slammed his palm onto his face and manipulated a constant wave of fire onto the creature.
He lit a match and placed it in his now-empty lantern. The flame ignited upon touching the lantern fuel.
"Now it's time for me to have some fun.".
Suddenly, Marco sped around the group of vampires, thrusting his axe and sword at them multiple times. He noticed he was getting faster each time he went around.
It must be an adrenaline rush heightening my speed skills, he thought. Just what I need.
Unfortunately, he had to stop on his fifth round to catch his breath. He manipulated his weapons into a firebomb and launched it into the group of vampires.
The bomb exploded and sent the already injured vampires, thrown over the place and landing on the hard ground, sprawled and wailing curses at Marco.
Bruno, seeing this, thought it was time to make a hasty retreat. He bent over to pick Xavier off the ground. Then Marco shot a fireball that missed his arm just barely. Bruno looked over in Marco's direction. Marco gave him a stare, telling him that was just a warning shot.
"Don't test me well; I'll."
"Let's just leave them and go back to the count. It's daybreak," Jesterie gestured.
"This isn't the last you see of me, boy. "
They both morphed into their Echo Hollower forms, picked up Trickles and Timmy, and flew off, leaving the others.
