Lightning flashed around him, creating a symphony of destruction and power. With a roar, he hurled a bolt of lightning directly at Thaiel, who was busy keeping the gap in the lightning cage open.
Ethan reacted instantly. He knew Thaiel didn't have the strength to withstand an attack from Thor, so he summoned his shadows in a desperate attempt to reduce the power of the lightning and protect him. The shadows swirled, absorbing some of the energy, but it wasn't enough; the shadows were especially weak against lightning. They were opposites, like light and darkness.
