Ethan, after teleporting, let out a faint sigh, regaining his balance in the last place he remembered before being captured by Anuket. He hadn't expected to go through the experience he just had, but now, with his mind focused on finding the others, he hoped he would never have to deal with Anuket again.
The place, covered by an arid and suffocating landscape, showed no trace of his allies, but Ethan knew they had come this way. Now, he had to go further, to the magical barrier that Maia had detected.
"Where exactly is that place, Maia?" he asked, surveying the terrain.
"The barrier is north of your current position," Maia said directly into his mind. "I can't penetrate it, but I'll keep monitoring as you approach. Perhaps with your strength, you can break through."
Ethan nodded. At least he had a clear direction. With a swift movement, he set off, advancing through the rocks and rough terrain that surrounded the area.
