They spent a few moments in silence, both trying to remember something, anything. But the mist kept clouding their thoughts, preventing any memories from forming. They couldn't even remember why they were together, or what had happened before entering the mist.
Zhilan clenched her fists, frustration and fear beginning to mix inside her. How could they have forgotten everything? She couldn't explain it, but something in her instinct told her they couldn't stay still. Although she didn't know why, she felt they had to keep moving, as if a part of her knew there was something to seek beyond the mist.
"We... we can't stay here," Zhilan finally said, her voice trembling slightly.
Ethan looked at her, his eyes empty but with a small glimmer of recognition. Although he didn't know who she was or who he was, something inside him aligned with her intuition.
