A door opened in front of Chase and a blonde girl came out. As soon as she saw him, she smiled and closed the door behind her.
"Haven't seen you at school yet, " She said, "Are you a new student?"
"Yeah." Chase lied as he started walking towards the stairs, the girl behind him.
"My name's Fiona, the student council president and you are?" The girl called Fiona said, introducing herself. Chase knew exactly who she was and wanted to go with another lie but it was better to tell her the truth.
"Chase." He replied as they reached the door leading to the outside of the building.
"C-chase?" Fiona stuttered a bit as they exited. "So you must be another Chase then."
"Who was the other Chase?" He asked as he kept walking for a bit before coming to a stop.
"He was a weak student that suddenly disappeared but no one really cared about him so it didn't affect us." She confessed.
"How about you?" He asked as he turned to face her. "How did you feel?"
"I didn't really care to be honest."
"If you're the student council president, why didn't you intervene?" Chase asked with a slight anger.
"It wasn't my problem and it was quite fun." She admitted.
"Fun huh?" Chase reflected.
"Anyways, I haven't asked what your surname is." She said.
Chase stared before slowly replying, "Tennyson."
Fiona was clearly in disbelief but she convinced herself that the person standing in front of her must have had the same surname as the one who disappeared and tried to compose herself but Chase made her fears come true.
"As in the one that disappeared." He said as he dropped his bag on the floor.
"I-I thought that you were dead." She blurted out as she took a step back.
"This conversation is over." He told her, making her step back even further. She didn't know why she was stepping back even though She knew that he was weak but the boy in front of her was different, different than the old one yet, she didn't know how.
"I didn't-" A round house kick to the face knocked her back into the school, shaking the building up a bit. She dropped on the floor and coughed out blood but didn't have time to recover as a knee came flying at her, knocking her through a couple of walls. Fiona clutched her face in pain and saw Chase approaching her from afar. She had to compose herself otherwise it could end very badly for herself.
'I told him not to cause trouble.' Maria told herself as she walked towards one of the windows of her office and examined the demolished buildings as well as the student council president clutching her face in pain. 'I guess I'll see where this goes for now.'
Fiona stood up and anxiously looked at Chase, "We can talk about this Chase, we don't need to do this." Chase ignored her and fired a black energy ball. She parried it and reacted with her own energy ball. An explosion occurred, making her think that she had got him but as the smoke cleared, Chase appeared perfectly fine.
'How is that possible?' She thought to herself, 'Normally he would have never been able to eat that attack or even fire his own.'
She didn't have time to think as the ground beneath her had started shaking. She barely dodged the ice pillar that came from underground before being hit by another one in the back. Chase summoned a lightning spear in his hand and threw it at her with full force but luckily, Fiona saw it and dodged to her right but the spear was coming back towards her.
'Guided attack huh?' She thought to herself as she analysed her surroundings, looking for a way out of her situation but, she settled on the most obvious thing: running towards the same person who threw it.
Chase anticipated it and threw out energy bullets at her but they were getting easily parried. She appeared in front of him and as Chase reached to grab her, she appeared behind him just when the spear was about to connect with her back. It collided with Chase instead and another explosion occurred, damaging the nearby surroundings.
'I need to leave quickly.' She thought to herself as she flew back out into the open, 'I need to go talk to the principal, she should still be at school.'
Lightning was heard above her and she looked up just in time to see Chase throwing out a huge electric bolt that split the school in half. Fortunately, she dodged it but one of her arms had been hit and it bled, stinging in the process.
'Not again!' Maria sighed as she sadly watched her school split in half. The guards at the front of the school saw what had happened and tried to get closer but, an invisible electric barrier blocked them from moving in. Some people saw what had happened to the school but the atmosphere had become gloomy, sending chills down people's spines as they tried getting closer.
"Chase, stop this!" Fiona shouted as she gripped her bleeding arm.
"Say," Chase said as he floated downwards, "how fun was it?"
"What?"
"The bullying?" Fiona didn't say anything and just looked down.
"Silence huh?" Chase said smiling, "If you don't fight me, you might end up like Lucas."
"Lucas?" She asked, clearly shocked by what he had said. "What happened to him?"
"I think that you should just worry about yourself right now." Chase said as he dashed towards her. Fiona stopped gripping her arm, stood up and dashed towards her opponent as well.
She lashed out first with a right kick. Chase grabbed her leg with his left hand and kicked the back of her other leg, making her stumble a bit as he took that opportunity to give her a solid punch to the face letting her leg go at the same time. She hit her head unto the ground and the body followed afterwards yet she wasn't knocked out. Chase tried to curb stomp her but a huge blue shard fell out of the sky shifting his attention from her.
She took that opportunity to sweep his leg and it worked out how she wanted it to. Before his body hit the ground, she kicked him in his stomach, sending Chase flying for a couple of meters before being hit by a numerous amount of energy blasts. He put his arms in an X shaped position to protect himself from the attacks and it seemed to be working but Fiona appeared behind him, grabbed him by the leg and swung him violently towards the ground head first. Chase tasted blood.
'She's holding her own.' Maria thought with a smile on her face, 'She's grown stronger than before but Chase..."
"There's no way you beat Lucas like this Chase!" She said as she grabbed his leg and flung him again towards the ground, "There's no way."
She went for a third swing but her hand started tingling and she let go of Chase almost immediately, letting him back flip and land on his feet with his foot surrounded by lightning.
Even though there were particles of electricity in the air that could be felt and affect someone's nervous system, it barely affected Fiona's movements since she was strong enough to withstand it but at certain instances she could feel a slight shock coursing through her body. Chase wasted no time and flew right at her. He went for a punch but she blocked it and she threw one but Chase had blocked it. There was an exchange of fists that would have not went on for a while if Chase had stopped playing around but he liked fighting, ever since he had powers and every time fists were exchanged, he grew stronger.
Fiona threw a punch that was easily dodged again and Chase attacked with a right hook. Upon contact, Fiona's brain shook a bit as she took a couple of steps backwards, clutching her head. Chase continued with a punch to the stomach and a knee to the face, ending the combo by a grab of her head, connecting it with the ground, leaving the ground with cracks.
Fiona was panting quite heavily and looked as if she couldn't go on any longer. Her brain was still shaking, she started feeling pale from the blood loss in her arm and the shocks in her body were getting stronger, probably because Chase had gotten stronger in the process but was still holding back.
He turned around and went back to pick up his bag. But, Fiona raised herself up once again yet, she didn't seem to want to fight.
"Y-you were still holding back weren't you?" She asked him as she wiped the blood from her mouth.
"Who knows." Chase replied as he walked towards her.
"I g-get it, you're stronger now, " She panted, "Are you going to kill me now?"
"Nah." Was the last Chase said before turning his back from her and walking away. Fiona looked up at the darkened sky and heavily sighed before collapsing on the ground, blood slowly oozing out of her body.
She managed to look up once more and the last thing she saw was Chase holding up a gun.
