Luke stood outside the small house, hesitant as he raised his fist to knock on the door. It swung open before his knuckles even made contact, revealing a burly man with a scowl etched deeply into his face. His arms were crossed, and he leaned against the doorframe, looking down at Luke with a mix of boredom and suspicion.
"You're looking for a ride, right?" the man grunted, not bothering with pleasantries.
"Yeah, I need to get to Virencia," Luke replied, his voice steady despite the man's looming presence.
The man's eyebrows shot up in disbelief, and he let out a low whistle.
"Virencia? That's a hell of a long way from here. You do realize what you're asking for, right?"
Luke nodded, already anticipating where this conversation was headed.
"I know it's far, but I was told you're the one who can take me anywhere. That's what your offer says."
