Luke sat quietly in the corner, his gaze occasionally shifting between Mayor Sherman and the pile of paperwork scattered across the desk. Though no doubt important, the mayor's work didn't exactly scream excitement. Forms were signed, documents stamped, and orders were dispatched. Luke sighed inwardly; this was the unglamorous side of leadership, the grind of bureaucracy. Still, he couldn't shake the sense that he was imposing without contributing anything meaningful.
Just as he began to lose himself in his thoughts, the door to the office creaked open, and a knight stepped in, armour clinking softly with each step. The mayor looked up from his papers, his brow furrowing in curiosity.
"Ah, Sir Gerard," Mayor Sherman greeted. "What news?"
The knight gave a small bow before speaking.
"We've found a man and a woman, capable of doing the task, sir."
