The aftermath of the five fireballs was catastrophic. The once-imposing walls of Edenhide were now marred with gaping holes, sections crumbled into rubble, and thick plumes of smoke billowed into the air. The damage was severe, with charred stones and scattered debris marking the impact sites. Some sections of the fortress wall, weakened by the initial strike, teetered precariously, threatening to collapse entirely. Bodies of knights who had been stationed on the walls now lay lifeless among the ruins, their armour scorched and twisted by the intense heat.
In the fray of the Edenhide army, the tension was palpable. Among the ranks, a knight with a Sir title, his face pale and eyes wide with fear spoke up in a trembling voice. Unlike most of his comrades, this Sir was well-read, having devoured the ancient texts of the Noirists, to which they believe as a cult that revered the dark arts and spoke of powerful mages who could summon wrath from the heavens.
