Luke and Ilyrana were escorted into the meeting room of Esbakan's main building, a spacious chamber with high ceilings and elegant decor. Mayor Sherman, ever the gracious host, suggested they be seated and offered them refreshments from the city's finest chefs. Luke, feeling the pangs of hunger, accepted with a nod. Declining would have seemed impolite, especially given the honour and respect Sherman was showing.
As they settled into the room, Mayor Sherman made it clear that the meeting would be private, with only the three of them present. The staff quietly left, and the door closed behind them. Mayor Sherman, looking both excited and slightly apprehensive, addressed Luke.
