Chapter 1 - The Difference Between Heroes and Inferiors

There are heroes in this world.

Once born, everything seems to revolve around them—whatever they do or whoever they support will succeed, no matter how unbelievable.

When Heroes struggle to win, they gain a sudden power-up, a second chance, allowing them to fight back and overcome all odds because Heroes cannot lose!

An absolute and irrefutable law.

Normal humans cannot hope to stand on the same level or hope to achieve anything a Hero wants to pursue. No matter how much blood or pain we endure.

"Why?"

"Just because Gods adore them? We should look on helplessly while the heroes take everything they desire. Even the ones we might love!"

These words of frustration…They were mine until I died.

Yes, I have already passed on once.

Killed by the so-called heroes for daring to stand beside them and fight.

Now that I'm looking back, it was a foolish choice.

Right?

"Push forward, Claire! Use your holy strike!"

"Understood, Ethan!"

On this day, the hero Ethan and his party charged into the demon queen's throne room, her four guardians slain, and all elite demons burned to a crisp by the gentle saintess Aria.

"I will cast divine smite! Step back, Ethan, Claire!"

Despite her petite figure, beautiful face and snow-like hair, she carried a horrible hatred for demons and those who weren't heroes.

However, she could cast devastating holy magic.

I watched the hero Ethan's holy sword, Articus, cut the Demon Queen's shoulder, breaking her purple magical barrier.

"You are finished, Demon!"

The next moment, a pair of hands pushed me forward, and a burst of black fire exploded from the Demon Queen's hands, burning my face and chest.

"Inferior, don't make us do all the work!" A feminine voice with a raspy tone echoed in my ears. The magic hero Margot pushed me into the Demon Queen's counterattack.

"Ahhhh!"

My skin bubbled with an intense pain throbbing from the flames as I tried to scream—my lips only inhaling the heavy smoke, depriving me of oxygen.

It felt like my lungs were on fire, unable to see from my right eye due to it being glued shut by the flames.

I saw them defeat the Demon Queen after using me as their decoy.

The Hero's blade penetrated her heart, and this was the first time I truly looked at the Demon Queen as her magic veil shattered, revealing her true face.

'Beautiful...'

She was more than the priestess, more than the mage, and more than the knight! Her beauty was too captivating, despite her curved horns and pale skin. I remembered her battle form, which had beautiful blue skin.

I fell in love at first sight.

No, rather than love, it should be called lust or obsession.

"We won!"

Claire's loud voice, a charming but deafening volume, echoed in my ears while the heroes and their retainers rushed around the throne, probably looting.

"I found some kind of relic. Is it useful to you, Ethan?" Aria's gentle tone echoed. Right now, even the holy saintess showed more interest in looting.

However, I remained facing the demon queen, our bodies less than a metre apart as her empty eyes, void of life, watched me in silence.

'I might die if they don't heal me...'

These thoughts passed by, filling me with hopelessness while my left eye locked on the demon queen, admiring her grace even in death.

'Why do I feel it is a shame for her to die?'

Although, even if she lived...

What qualifications do I have to look at her?

I was born an ordinary human without a hero's blessing or special fate. Thanks to my determination and sacrifice, I could enter their ranks as a mere meat shield.

Through hard work, effort and shaving years off my life!

Clang!

The sound of steel boots approaching me echoed in my ears, still whistling from the explosive blast which must have burst one of my eardrums.

"Agh....Ugh..." My lips moved, but it seemed the smoke and flames had damaged the inside of my mouth and tongue, rendering me unable to make out words.

I could feel it—my broken body had reached its limit.

While the terror of death and its dark shadow overwhelmed me, the hero spoke to me. His face close to my ear, the scent of his expensive aftershave and spotless armour without blood or blemish entered my left eye.

He dangled a red bottle, a rare item for normal humans... A high-health potion which could restore limbs and recover burns!

My heart raced.

Would the hero actually save someone like me?

He would be right—I helped them kill the Demon Queen!

"Oh? You thought this potion was for you. Sorry, champ, this is for Margot—she hurt her wrist pushing you forward. Haha. This is what an inferior as you get for trying to stand in the same place as us Heroes. Now let me ease your passing!"

With those words, the holy blade created to slay the evil penetrated my chest.

A sharp, burning pain filled my body the moment the blade punctured my lungs and sliced my heart before a strange sensation flooded my chest...

I felt the Demon Queen.

Her blood soaked the Divine blade that took my life... for a moment, I heard the most beautiful voice in my life.

The string of words seemed to cause my intense burning pain to vanish, and the throbbing sensation in my heart faded.

I felt pain throughout my entire body, unable to open my eyes.

A panic built in my chest.

Maybe everything was a dream!

However, the moment I opened my eyes, her beautiful crimson hair fluttered across her back as she sat at a wooden desk with a large mirror wearing a black pair of knee-high socks—her bra and panties remained on the desk beside her left.

The demon queen stood in front of me, naked.

A woman who should have been dead stood happily humming while painting her long, sharp nails, a black tail with a heart tip dancing in the air, revealing her alluringly huge and soft rump squashed against her wooden seat.

Once again, there was only one thing I could say in this confusing situation.

"After all, you are the most beautiful woman in the world."

[Demon Queen - Seraphina Astaroth Feels shocked by your change of heart!]

'What?'

'Why can I hear the oracle's voice? Only the heroes should be able to hear the oracle's voice!?'

The Demon Queen, Seraphina, turned to face me. Her look was not great, but according to the oracle's voice, she seemed shocked by my words.

For a moment, we looked at each other—I couldn't deny that I felt her charm, however, unlike at the moment of my death.

I felt I could resist the enchanting sensation she caused.

She then pointed at me with a confused face.

"Y-You... were you not impotent last night!? What is that club!?"

"Club?" I looked down only to realise that I was also naked and covered in wounds... but my skin was no longer burned by the sun and damaged from the long training.

Instead, it was smooth and soft.

Not to mention, the thing between my legs seemed to have gained a significant upgrade!

'No longer a grower!'

"I guess you're naked body was so captivating that I couldn't help but cure myself desperately overnight."

[Demon Queen - Seraphina Astaroth is confused and stunned by your words!]

"Y-You! Get out of this queen's room!" Her voice echoed throughout the room as she seemed to panic. With each movement of her hands, things flew across the room, with my body being flung like a pair of unwashed shorts!

Bang!

I slammed into the ground and once again blacked out.
