Chapter 7 - A New Road

The young bunny with his long teeth looked funny when he begged Ethan. But Ethan did not laugh. He was staring at his hands. Though he knew that Bunny had touched his head and something shrieked in his brain. The power did not come from the bunny. It was his power. He had beaten six people at once.

Even if the owner of the body was a strong man and often trained. It was not something one could do so easily. The gangsters looked trained too.

"How did I do it?" he did not ask it loudly. But she was sure that the bunny could hear his thoughts after he controlled his mind.

The bunny looked reluctant to reply. It took out its watch and looked at it with a grim and cold face.

"Tell me, or I will fight again, this time, I will go to their base to pick up a fight." the bunny's face snapped at Ethan at once. Its eyes widened with utter disbelief.

"You scum of a human? Could you not be satisfied with the life you have gained? What did you not have in this life? Then live a good life, leisurely, and enjoy it." It grinds its teeth with such pressure that Ethan was sure a few would fall out soon if there were any except the long one hanging out of his mouth.

But its reluctance told Ethan that there was something he did not know. And it had a lot of value.

"Fine!" he shrugged, giving the rabbit hope, "I will find myself then." Ethan took a step forward making the rabbit pull his long ears.

"Tch! Fine! Fine! You have earned the essence of my power when I shifted you here." it scowled as if it wanted to kill Ethan with its own hands. "And when it was mixed with the technique this body had earned. You are strong enough to handle these types of goons. Until it is someone much stronger or more than twenty-thirty people at once, it would be hard to defeat you." Ethan went silent at once.

His eyes narrowed at the rabbit. So the rabbit, which was an immortal being, used its power to connect his soul to the new body. And it left an essence of its power in his body.

"Did it not mean that I am a grim reaper too?" the rabbit hopped in the air as if it was trying to trample something beneath its feet.

"Ha! You wish!" it spat with force as its body trembled with rage. Why! Why did it make such a mistake and now its power was with a human? If god comes to know about it.

No, it had to make sure that this punny human would not make a mistake enough to get the attention of the god. It had to find a way.

Ethan noticed the regret on his face and was sure it was more than giving powers. The bunny was scared. But why?

Then it remembered another being with the rabbit that night. Could it be that the rabbit had made another mistake and did not accept it yet? His eyes flickered and gleamed with treacherous eight and his lips cursed into a cursed smile.

"So, what if others know about it? '' the bunny hiccuped, confirming Ethan's doubts. "But we can keep it a secret as long as you help me." The bunny knew that humans were greedy and now he had a living example proving it.

But what choice did he have? All he could do was nod and accept it.

"Fine! I will return later." The bunny disappeared but this time, Ethan was not as panicked as before. He could feel the paper coursing through his body and it made him full of pride and joy.

And when he noticed everyone cheering for him, he felt pride. So this body was trained in martial arts and fighting skills. Huh? He would find a way to make it useful.

As many started to leave when Ethan did not reply much, David came closer and sighed.

"I did not know that you were trained in fighting, Ethan. You never told me." his voice sounded a bit agitated but Ethan ignored it.

"I have learned a little." he did not have any to divulge further. Because he still needs to fight his limits. The bunny said as long as he did not fight someone stronger. How strong should that person be?

David only felt worried when he heard those words. His heart sank and he looked at Ethan gloomily.

"Those men must have been new in the team. But Ethan, what would happen if the man called the trained personnel, or worse what if he informed their team leader Martin? You are new so you have no idea. Their leader is part of a big underworld chain Dragonmoon. And no one dares to provoke them. Even the law and police are in his hands.

They could bring an army and no one would ask a question."

Any normal man would feel the fear. Ethan would have trembled if it had been the past. But now, he only felt a strange thrill coursing his body as he heard David. The bunny had told him that only a strong man could defeat him. But how strong?

If different men came from the gang, he would have the chance to test his powers completely and then he could extort some money from those goons too. He did not want to live in that crappy flat even if it had a better interior. Just his neighborhood made him feel like shit himself.

"Alright, I will be cautious." David sighed and shook his head. He felt like the young man was treating the matter too lightly. But even if he wanted to help, he was too old for a fight, and going to the police would not help.

It would be better if the gangster felt too afraid to inform anyone about it. Only then could they live peacefully. Ethan did not care what David was thinking. He had his plans ready.

And he could not get success until he let go of his fears. He had already died once. How much worse could it be? The bunny would not let him die this time.

It gave him the freedom to test his boundaries and go higher. And this time, he wanted to have more for himself.

"I have already decided, David. I will not live like a mouse in the gutter this time. I want to have a better life. And it will only be possible if I am brave enough." with that, he stood up and walked to the single person left behind. He was heavily injured and could not run with his gang.

He bent and took out the wallet of the person. He was still not satisfied, so he took out the chain and other silver jewelry too.

He counted the notes in the wallet and smirked under the mortified gazes of the spectators and then he threw the chain toward David, David's eyes widened as he caught it.

"This?"

"Did you not say you still need money for your daughter's education? Here, sell them."
