I was so happy that Aria and Steven could now be together and so grateful to Mandy for making such a heart touching sacrifice, now I have nothing but respect towards her.
" Hey girl, let's go party tonight, it's gonna be a blast" sky said as she jumped next to me. " Come-on sky, we are no longer college girls, we are women with kids, who would take care of the kids if we stay out at night to party" I asked.
" And so, if we are mother's does it mean our life has come to an end and we can no longer take some time for ourselves, I don't agree with that" sky argued.
" They are all kids, who would take care of them if we leave, what if they need something at night or fall sick, they would need us right" I argued back.
" Lila is there, Joseph too, they can take care of the kids. Joseph can control the kids and handle them when we are out and Lila can babysit Matteo for the night. I agree your son is just a couple of months, but his dad is around, and none of my kids are that little they are all over 10, so chill girl" sky said.
" I don't think it's a good idea, Lila is just 17 how can she take care of another kid, and Joseph he is a man he knows next to nothing about babies, I can't take that risk" I argued further.
" I insist you go, go out and enjoy yourself, you deserve a break and a rest from your responsibilites, I would handle Matteo, I promise you,okay!" Joseph said from the door.
" Even you need to be taken care of, am not going that's it" I said. " You are going kends, even if it means I would drag you all the way to the club, I would do it" sky said.
" And if you don't agree trust me I would lock myself and Matteo in a room and ni matter what we won't come out till the next morning" Joseph blackmailed
" Like seriously guys" I said dumbfounded. They both nodded their heads and I shook mine in defeat, " you both are something else" I murmured.
" Yep, so be ready at 9, by then the kids would have slept" sky said. " Fine whatever, so what about the art gallery opening tomorrow, are you done with all the prepartions" I asked changing the topic.
" Yep, I have planned everything out, infact our college mates would be there, it's gonna be so much fun, trust me" she said with a big grin.
" It sure is, how I miss the old times" I said equally excited.
After the kids slept at night we went to get ready, but what I saw shocked me, " sky what is this, do you expect me to wear this, no way" I argued immediately after seeing the clothes.
There were two dresses, a short bright yellow dress that's tight fitting and strapless and the other was a short red dress with a high slit and a low back.
" Yes girl, that's what we are wearing, let's enjoy our lives, you only get to live once YOLO, so it's better to enjoy it" sky said choosing the yellow dress.
" Sky we are no longer in our 20s , we are old now with kids, I can't wear this" I said throwing the dress away.
" Do you want us to look like ducklings, don't be a party pooper and go get dressed" sky said pushing me to the changing room.
I had no choice but to get ready, I looked at myself again in the mirror, it has been so long since I wore such tight fitting clothes, it brings back youthful memories.
I walked out of the bathroom feeling a little shy. " OMG girl, you look super hot, you are sure to turn heads tonight" sky said. " I don't wanna turn heads, am married already" I retorted.
"Fine whatever" sky said and pulled me to sit down in front of the mirror. She styled my hair in a long curly style, a smoky eye makeup and a deep red lipstick. Lastly a stiletto heels, a glittery clutch and a stack of bangle bracelets. OMG, it feels as if I time traveled to 20 years back, at first it was uncomfortable but now I feel confident.
As for her, she wore an oversized hoop earrings, a chunky chain necklace and black stiletto heels. Her hair was straightened back and her makeup dramatic.
" Now thats more like a perfect look for a night out" sky said satisfied.
We drove to a nightclub and it was so much fun, I respected my marriage and stayed away from guys at the club but it did not stop me from enjoying myself.
I drank so much alcohol that I became so tipsy and danced like crazy, I didn't feel like a wife or mother now, I just felt refreshed, a woman who was taking out time for herself amidst her responsibilities and enjoying her life.
It made me realize that I had been burning myself out too much over the past couple of years and it was taking a toll on myself, and indeed this is a night out worth it.

- "We're gonna light up the night, like a shooting star..."
- "I lose myself in the music, let the beat take control..."
- "We're gonna party all night, like there's no tomorrow..."
- "I'm on top of the world, nothing's gonna stop me now..."
Sky sanged after we left the club hugging onto eachother
" We are too drunk to drive.... Let's get a taxi" I said flagging a taxi down.
" You know this is my weekly routine to avoid burnout. Been a mother is such a task and I figured it's best I spare time for myself in between all the drama of parenthood, did you enjoy it" she asked me still tipsy.
" I sure did, thanks girl" I said hugging her. We managed to get home and ended up sleeping on the couch in the living room. When we woke up in morning, Joseph has already kept two glass of lime water for us to help with our hangover.
After breakfast we all continued with the prepartions for today's evening. It was a lot of fun to reconnect with old colleagues and all and I felt so refreshed and energized at sky's house and it bought fond memories.
We left back for America after the celebrations.
