I hugged dad and cried for God knows how long and he patiently patted my head. " Dad, am so sorry, I should have never asked you to bring Helen and kaida home, I was to naive, if I didn't do that probably we would have had a beautiful life". I sobbed
" Sweetheart, you did it out of the kindness of your heart, and no one can fight nor deny their destiny. All is well, am glad you are alive and healthy. Tell me, how has your life been in the past 7 years?" Dad asked me.
" I planned my revenge, I want to take revenge on those three for ruining our family, I left this country and only returned 3 days ago. I have build the world's leading company now, Lena techs and more. But most importantly, I have a daughter Selena, Selena Thayer" I told dad as briefly as possible.
" Am proud of you my dear, are you now married, or you have a boyfriend?" Dad asked. I knew the question was to know about my daughter but he didn't know how to ask without making it awkward.
" No dad, I have no one in my life, I have no place for love and relationships in my life now, my only motivation is my revenge. And Selena, she is the result of what happened on the engagement day" I told dad.
" And you still chose to keep her?" Dad asked with a surprised tone. " Yes dad, it wasn't the baby's fault, and so far she has been the biggest blessing of my life, I love her so much dad and even you would love her I am sure of it" I said with confidence.
" I want to meet my granddaughter, is it possible?" Dad asked with hope. " Yes dad, it's very much possible, infact I would take you to her today" I replied.
" What if that Helen and kaida see us" dad asked with fear, how much must they have tortured my dad for him to be so afraid of them I thought. " Dad, don't worry, your daughter is here, you can walk around with your head held up high" I assured him.
I got dad ready and we went out together, no one had the gut to ask. We met kaida while driving out, but I didn't give a damn. We drove out to the park first. Dad and I took a walk and chatted about the good old times. I had called for another driver that would take us to Kendall's house. 15 mins later, a silver Austin Texas was parked outside the park and dad and I went to the car and entered and the driver drove us to Kendall's house.
Shortly afterwards we were at the front door, we walked in and I supported dad inside. Kendall was not in the living room, she is either cooking or taking a nap, Joseph and Steven were talking about something their expressions serious and Selena was watching frozen but her mind seems to be somewhere else.
" Sel" I called out. The moment she heard my voice she smiled a cute gummy smile and ran towards me I squatted and she ran straight into my arms, we hugged eachother tightly. I missed her, I missed my daughter so very much in just a matter of 2 days, how would I bare to stay away from her for months. Now I understand, mom and dad never left me for business because they loved me any less, they did it out of compulsion and now finding myself in the same situation I understood them better.
" Mommah, I missed you so much, you didn't even call me" she complained. " Am so sorry my love, mommah is so sorry it won't happen again, look who I bought you" I told her. " Is he grandpa, did mom manage to save grandpa from the bad guys" Selena asked with anticipated eyes.
" Yes little muffin, your mommah saved your grandfather from the bad guys, won't you give me a hug or do you only know your mommah" dad said with a smile. Disentangling from me, selena threw herself into dad's arms and he showered her with kisses. Joseph, Kendall and Steven all stared at us with mixed expression.
Tears streamed down dad's eyes and Selena cutely wipes them away, "don't cry Grandpa, mom always used to say,Tear drops might wash away a tooth or two,
And then your smile won't be as bright and new.
So let's wipe away those tears and grin,
And show the world your beautiful smile within!, so plz grandpa don't cry, we don't want the tears to wash away your teeth's do we"
Dad looked at me and I nodded, I taught my daughter what my parents taught me and I could see dad felt touched. " Okay muffin, grandpa won't cry ok" he said with a smile.
" Uncle, plz come in and seat don't stand at the door" Kendall said. Dad walked in to the living room and we all waited for him to seat first, instead of seating on the sofa, he sat on the floor, and I could see how much Helens act have damaged dad's self esteem.
" Dad plz" I held him and helped him sat on the sofa, Selena entertained him for a while and Kendall and I went in to finish cooking. An hour later we came out after preparing a ton of dishes.
We all served dad food and Selena fed him, he looked genuinely happy and his interactions with Selena melted my heart. After eating, I told Selena to take dad to the room and play with him while I have a talk with the others.
Once dad left I went ahead and told them each and every single details about what happened since my arrival at that house. Kendall was shaken with anger after I finished. " How dare those three treat uncle like that, I swear I would kill them, who unearth can do this to an elderly man".
" Give us the permission to take action on them directly Aria, this is not done". Joseph said.
" And why are you entertaining that cheap low life man Aria, this is not done" Steven said with anger
All of them were angry and their anger is justified.
