Sebastian POV
"Boss, we should deliver a bouquet or something to Sky Corporation," my P. A Samson tapped on my desk making me look up from where I was hunched in front of my computer.
I kept putting off seeing an optician and my reading vision was getting terrible every day.
"Why is that?" I gave him a sideways glance "Did someone die? Or is that itch back again? The one that makes you spend money on things that is not necessary,".
"Giving flowers to Sky Corporation is not a bad idea, boss. Have you checked their shares this evening? It's basically over the top. A lot of people are rushing to buy with them because the new CEO, Amelia Winchester might look young but everyone fell in love with her and from what I've gathered, she's smart,".
"So?" I sighed in relief after reading the last clause of the agreement between Grey Corps and Rex Entertainment. Before looking up to face Samson now.
"This is our chance to make a good impression. I don't know what about the former Chairman you hated that made us not do business with them for years but with the new change, I'm sure, Miss Winchester will be looking for someone she can trust… and you can take up that role easily. Who knows, their influence will rub off on us,".
"You think so?" I scoffed and rose to my feet crossing the room to the coffee stand at the corner "I'm sorry, Samson but I'm not interested in doing anything with Sky Corporation. They could have Moses in the Bible as their CEO and I won't give a damn. I just don't want to be associated with them,".
"Why?" Samson sighed in frustration "Surely there must be a way to fix it. It's been going on for years and it's causing us a lot of losses. Projects and deals we could have easily closed are shifted to all these baby companies without experience and with us just entering the international market, we will need a company like Sky Corporation. Their reputation is outstanding,".
"If you love them so much, then buy a stock or whatever, Samson and leave me alone," I said quietly trying to organize my thoughts. "And it seems you have less work these days because I don't know why my schedule is packed with lots of things to do and you just prance about blackmailing me into doing what I don't want to do. That isn't what you're paid for Samson,".
"I'm sorry, Mr Grey," he lowered his head "I only want to be of help to you. Grey Corps means a lot to me too,".
"Don't let it mean a lot to you, Samson… I do not appreciate it. You cannot be more passionate about my company than me. Anyways," I walked to the couch in the office "Ask the Legal department to look at the agreement with Rex especially clauses 17 and 21. It's tricky. Also, let them tell me if it will be wise to proceed,".
"Okay, Mr Grey," Samson nodded doodling my instructions into his notebook. "Is there anything I can do for you before I leave?"
"No!" I shook my head "We're done for today. See you tomorrow and you should probably give me a morning call. At this rate, I might oversleep if I am not careful,".
Samson gave me a strange look but nodded and gave me one last curt bow before leaving the office. I let out a soft smile as I watched him leave. He will sulk for a few hours and tomorrow we'll be fine. He was a good lad and very passionate about the company.
My mind strayed to the interview I saw on the news today and I couldn't help but wonder how she was doing. It's been three years since I last saw her… rather since she called off our wedding without any explanation.
"Hey!" Someone tapped on my arm making me jerk my head back. When I turned and saw it was my brother Trevor, a wave of apprehension washed over me. If he knew what I was thinking he would kill me.
"Hey there!" I grabbed him quickly for a quick hug before he could interpret my emotions. Trevor had a way of knowing my thoughts most time. "Did you just arrive? I didn't hear you walk in,".
"I thought I was stomping loud enough," he hissed and wiggled out of my arms "Why are you still in the office by this time? What did we agree with you working so late at night?"
"Something urgent came up this evening making me stay back but I promise from next week, I'll be tucked in my bed before 9 pm,". My eyes strayed to the food bag he was holding "Is that for me?"
"Yes!" he rolled his eyes and dumped the bag on the table "Pasta and meatloaf just the way you like it,".
"What will I do without you?" I gave him a cocky grin and reached for the bag immediately "I was so busy working that I skipped lunch. Thank you for bringing me this,"
I pounced on the food, sighing with relish as I took a spoonful. Trevor was such an amazing cook and never once have I regretted sending him to a chef's school. All those years of hard labour finally paid off.
"How are you holding up?" Trevor suddenly asked making me stop eating.
I knew what he was talking about. For a few days now, he has been trying to lure me into a conversation about her and I've successfully deflated it until now.
"Fine!" I answered, talking with the food in my mouth. "We'll close the deal on Rex Entertainment before the week ends and that's a great start for the new month, don't you think? By the way, how's that masterclass of yours coming along? Do you want me to…".
"That's not what I'm talking about, Sebastian," he interrupted giving me a cold look "I'm talking about Sienna – Sienna Winchester,".
"Okay!" I shrugged giving him a indifferent glance "What about her?"
"Don't play dumb with me, Sebastian. Her face has been plastered all over the news for a few days now and they're saying all kinds of things. She's currently on the run now,".
"Why are you obsessed with her?" I exploded "It was me she jilted and not you. You're rich, successful and pursuing your dream. Can't you just live your life and forget about her?"
"No!" Trevor shook his head and sauntered towards me "No, brother. That woman caused us so much. She nearly tore our family apart and until she's dead, I won't stop obsessing over her. Besides, it's been three fucking years and you cannot say her name yet? Still obsessed with her?"
"Trevor… I'm warning you…" I said through gritted teeth, "Don't you dare bring that up now?"
"But it's true, Sebastian Grey. You still love her, don't you? I bet you are worried about how she's faring, perhaps that's why you've been working late for three days now and don't give me bullshit about just wanting to work. Anyways, you should consider going into therapy because if you fuck this up this time around…" he scoffed.
"What are you talking about? Fuck what?"
"Stay away from the Winchester's business and we'll be fine. If you try to help her in any way… then we'll be done for good, Sebastian. So, I'm asking you to choose between your family and that bitch,".
"Can you please stop calling her names? She's not even here Trevor. She's not contacted me yet. Why are you being so paranoid over nothing?"
"But you've already made moves to help her. You think I don't know about your little trip to Los Angeles a few days ago and how you kept asking questions… the neighbours trying to find…".
"I went there for business and nothing more and maybe you should concentrate on running around the pans and pots in your kitchen and keep your nose out of my business,". I sucked in a deep breath. "I'm done here, goodnight,".
I went back to my table, picked up my work bag and jacket and brushed past him. I wanted to go for a drive around the city and enjoy the quiet, peaceful nightlife but I couldn't afford it. I had a lot planned out for this morning. By the time I arrived at my Penthouse in Manhattan, it was 2:45 am.
I let myself into the house, not bothering to put the lights on. As I made my way through the darkness, my phone suddenly vibrated in my pocket. Frowning I pulled it out, squinting at the bright screen. It was my other P.A., Daniel.
Wondering why he was calling me on this line, I sighed and answered. "Hello?"
"Mr Black?" his voice came through laced with urgency. "I have reports regarding Miss Sienna Winchester just like you asked,".
I tensed. "What is it?"
"The police broke into the Motel she was lodged in a few hours ago and she's on the run again. The man with her, Monty, is trying to secure a meeting with you. It seems he knows who you truly are. Because he's reaching out to all our contacts and begging them to allow him to see you, saying that once we mention it's for Miss Winchester, you'd budge,".
I scoffed… that old fool knew how to get my attention.
"Will you meet with them, sir?" Daniel's voice bored into my thoughts.
I hesitated, torn between my desire to see Sienna after three years and the promise I'd made to myself and to my brother, Trevor to stay away from her affairs.
"I'll… consider it," I said finally. "No promises yet but let them patch through to my secretary at Blackway Industries to book an appointment,".
"Very well sir. I'll relate it now!".
If I help her, I would make sure she regrets hurting me, casting me away like some leftover meal. I was going to get my revenge and nothing will stop me. I had Sienna Winchester right where I wanted her to be…
At my Mercy.
