"Yuner, I am really proud of you," his mother said, hugging him warmly.
Just as Universe arrived at his clan after winning the competition, his mother suddenly ran to him and embraced him. Universe felt happy that he could help his family in times of need, but seeing the smile on his mother's face made this happy moment even better.
"Yuner, go rest. I will go talk to the elders," his father, who was smiling ear to ear, said to Universe before leaving the mother and son duo.
"Okay, let's go to your room. I have a big surprise for you."
Universe suddenly became interested. "What kind of surprise, Mother?"
"Just come with me, and you will understand," Universe could only follow his mother helplessly towards his room.
While walking, he looked around but couldn't find Shi Fan anywhere. He became curious because sometimes when he was not at the clan, Shi Fan always stayed with his mother. But today, his mother was alone, so he asked, "Mother, where is Shi Fan? Did she go somewhere?"
"Oh, don't worry. She has something to do, but she will be back soon," his mother reassured him. Universe nodded silently and followed his mother.
After leaving Universe at the door of his room, his mother left him alone. Not understanding his mother's purpose, he went inside and took a bath.
After that, Universe sat on his meditation cushion, pondering the complexities of the cultivation techniques he had been studying, when he heard a faint rustling noise outside his window. Curious and slightly wary, he approached cautiously.
To his surprise, two figures materialized on the ledge outside his window. They were his sisters, Yu Er and Yu Ling, disciples of the renowned Flying Sword Sect known for their mastery of sword techniques and profound spiritual cultivation. They grinned mischievously at Universe, their eyes alight with excitement.
"Brother, we heard you won the competition and defeated all those young master losers. But the most important thing you can cultivate now," Ling announced cheerfully, her voice barely above a whisper to avoid alerting any other clan members or elders.
Yu Er, with her calm demeanor and soft gaze, added, "We thought we'd surprise you and lift your spirits."
Despite the late hour, Universe couldn't contain his joy at seeing his sisters. It was a rare occasion to have them visit him from the Flying Sword Sect. His eyes began to moisten; these two were the ones who had loved him dearly when he was just a toddler.
Quickly, they slipped inside his room, their silken robes whispering against the stone floor. Ling eagerly recounted tales of their recent adventures in the Flying Sword Sect, showcasing a few techniques they had learned under their master's guidance. Yu Er demonstrated her prowess with a miniature flying sword, a marvel of cultivation refinement.
As they laughed and reminisced about their childhood antics and shared dreams of reaching greater heights in their cultivation paths, they failed to notice the faint footsteps approaching Universe's chamber door.
Just as Shi Fan's silhouette appeared in the doorway, Ling and Yu Er darted behind the curtains, concealing themselves with practiced ease.
There was a knock on the door, and Universe went to open it; he knew it was Shi Fan, so he wasn't surprised.
"Shi Fan, how are you? When I came back, I didn't find you. Has something important happened?"
Seeing him, Shi Fan's eyes brightened, but suddenly, they dimmed. She wanted to say something but ended up saying nothing.
"I just came to inquire if Young Master needs anything."
While looking to the side, Universe replied, "Ah, no, Shi Fan. I don't need anything. You can go and take some rest; you seem tired."
Nodding, Shi Fan didn't stay any longer and left.
"Okay, you can come out now."
Once the coast was clear, Ling and Yu Er emerged from their hiding spot, exchanging playful glances with Universe.
Curious about their hide-and-seek, Universe couldn't help but ask, "Why all this hiding? I think Mother knows about you guys, so hiding from everyone else..."
Yu Er and Yu Ling looked at each other and said, "Yuner, in the sect, nobody knows that we came home. They view it as just a mission. That's why we are hiding. If the word spreads to the sect, our master won't let us come here again for a long time."
Hearing this, Universe understood their dilemma and said nothing more. After that, they talked for a few more hours. They even asked him about his sudden cultivation, and Universe only replied, "Sisters, if you trust me, don't ask about it. But one day, when I am ready, you will definitely be the first ones to know."
Both exchanged glances and said nothing more. Everyone has some secrets, and they knew it. Understanding that Universe wasn't willing to tell them now—or not lie to them—they changed the subject and started asking about his fights with all the pampered young masters.
They talked for quite a while, but everything comes to an end, just like their separation.
With a promise to meet again soon under the moonlit sky, they bid their brother farewell, disappearing into the shadows of the cultivation world, leaving Universe with a heart full of gratitude and a renewed determination to excel in his cultivation practices and meet his sisters on a bigger stage than this one.
"Alright, Alfa, let's start reading cultivation session."
"I thought you wouldn't ask."
Universe suddenly stopped, feeling excitement from Alfa. So he asked, "Why are you so excited?"
"Obviously, if you cultivate hard and grow stronger, then I will also grow with you. Or did you think this mobile phone of yours is only capable of that?"
This time, Universe was surprised. He had thought that his mobile phone's abilities were already at their maximum and had never considered that it could be upgraded.
