The next day, Leon was completely dumbfounded by Caius Solaries' appearance.
Both his hands and legs were twisted in unnatural directions, and his entire body was pale as snow.
Leon secretly gave his sister Karen a big thumbs up for her work.
Lady Fray didn't even glance at the miserable sight. She directly asked Karen, "Karen, give me a report."
Karen immediately began her investigation report.
"His name is Caius Solaries, the 17th young master of the Red Moon Pavilion. He betrayed the Solaries family 12 years ago. The reason he spied on you, Madam, is that he lusted after your beauty."
Leon was even more dumbfounded after hearing the report. He looked at Caius with disdain.
"You can't even make proper judgments. How have you survived until now?"
Karen continued, "More importantly, I found out that the Solaries family and the Red Moon Pavilion have been in contact for the past few years."
Lady Fray simply nodded, saying with disdain, "The Solaries family always desired the throne, and the Red Moon Pavilion wants the Royal Family's Holy Weapon. It's not surprising that they've colluded."
"Well, dispose of his body. We'll continue our journey," Lady Fray said, waving her hand dismissively.
At that moment, Caius Solaries woke up, shivering upon hearing her words. He endured his pain and, with eyes full of hatred, said, "You can't do this to me! Anyone who kills me will be branded with the Red Moon Curse. They'll be hunted to the ends of the earth!"
Lady Fray and the others looked at Caius with disdain.
Leon, on the other hand, closely examined Caius' golden eyes. Deep within them, he saw a burning flame that no one else could see—only his Darkmoon Eyes revealed the dying, yet pure, flame of the sun.
"Shut up. How dare you speak arrogantly?" Karen said as she slapped Caius across the face.
Lady Fray turned to Leon, asking, "Little brat, how do you think we should handle this situation?" She specifically asked to test him.
Karen's heart trembled. "Why is Madam testing young master? He's only four years old."
Leon shook his head and asked, "Sister Karen, do you have a small container filled with Spirit Water?"
Karen, confused but compliant, handed Leon a small glass container with a light blue liquid inside.
Leon examined the container carefully, then walked toward Caius.
Lady Fray and Karen, puzzled, watched in silence.
Leon stopped in front of Caius and said, "The most important part of him is his eyes." He reached out his small, jade-like hand toward Caius' right eye.
Caius' face contorted in horror. Before he could react, piercing pain erupted in his right eye. He looked at the silver-masked boy and saw him holding his eye in his hands.
"Haaa!" he screamed in agony.
Meanwhile, Leon remained unfazed by the cries of pain. He calmly placed the golden eye into the container filled with Spirit Water. His hands, nor the eye, bore any blood, thanks to his precise mana control.
Without hesitation, Leon plucked out Caius' other eye and sealed it within the container.
"Just toss him out onto the street, Aunt. Plenty of people are after his treasures. Seal his mouth before you do. I'll be in the wagon," Leon said as he left the room with the container.
Karen opened her mouth to speak but was too shocked. She suppressed her surprise and asked, "Lady Fray, what should I do?"
Lady Fray smiled, "Just follow his instructions."
Karen nodded and disappeared from the room, dragging the screaming Caius Solaries along.
Lady Fray entered the wagon and found Leon sitting in his usual seat, studying the container filled with Spirit Water and golden eyes.
She sat down beside him, and the wagon resumed its journey.
Lady Fray looked curiously at her unusual nephew and asked, "Little brat, have you developed a habit of collecting eyes?"
Leon removed his silver mask and smiled. "No, Aunt. I won't explain—just watch."
Leon fully activated his Darkmoon Eyes. A dark crescent moon appeared in his gaze as he raised his hand, placing it over the container. He channeled his mana into the golden eyes.
The pale golden eyes began to glow brightly, emitting a radiant golden light that fell onto the wooden plank of the wagon. Leon immediately stopped, and the light faded, leaving behind burnt marks on the high-quality wood.
Lady Fray's eyes narrowed at the sight of the burn marks. She looked at the golden eyes and finally understood Leon's actions.
Lady Fray smiled. "Little brat, do you want to know the name of these eyes?"
Leon was surprised. "Aunt, you know about them?"
Lady Fray smirked. "Who do you think I am? These are called Solaris Helios Eyes. They are unique to the Solaries family. I didn't expect a traitor like him to awaken such rare eyes."
Leon grew more interested. "Aunt, can you tell me more about them?"
Lady Fray smiled, "I don't know much, but I can tell you this: Solaries family members can only awaken these eyes when their bloodline reaches a certain level. But improving their bloodline quality is incredibly difficult. Right now, there are fewer than ten members of their family with awakened eyes. The current head of the Solaries family, Ignatius Solaries, gained fame on the battlefield thanks to these eyes."
"Wow," Leon said, clearly impressed.
Lady Fray looked at him curiously. "Little brat, what are you going to do with those eyes?"
Leon thought for a moment. "I'm not sure. I'm just interested in their power. I thought I'd study them."
Lady Fray smacked him on the head, irritated. "You're just like your mother—always researching! Why don't you let me keep them safe? I'd love to see Ignatius' face when he finds out."
Leon handed the container to his aunt without protest.
Lady Fray took it with a grin. "Maybe we can turn them into artifacts in Moon Cliff City."
Leon simply nodded, not asking for further details.
The rest of their journey was peaceful, but the Silver Maple Town was not.
In one of the streets, a naked, eyeless corpse lay on the ground, its limbs twisted unnaturally. It was none other than Caius Solaries.
Two men in dark clothes approached the body.
One of them, clearly frustrated, muttered, "I told this piece of trash to be careful. He didn't listen and got himself killed. They even took his eyes."
The other asked, "Number 27, what do we do now? The vice pavilion master will blame us for sure."
Number 27 sighed. "What can we do? Find the murderer and bring his head to the pavilion. I can sense the curse mark nearby. Let's go, Number 28."
Number 28 nodded, and the two vanished into the night along with Caius' body.
