Lily no longer resisted, leaning gently against Alex's chest, her eyes again falling on the diamond ring on her finger.
Alex drove her home, but before he could finish a cup of tea, her father, Henry Anderson, shooed him out, saying, "It's too late. You two can get cozy after you're married. Now go home."
Alex gave Lily a bitter glance while Lily helplessly looked back at him…
Her dad's temper was becoming more and more stubborn.
"Bye-bye." She waved to Alex at the elevator, then turned to walk back inside when her phone rang.
Lily pulled out her phone and saw that Ethan was calling again.
She froze, staring at the number on the screen before finally turning the phone off and not answering.
"Dad, do you have some issue with Alex?" Lily asked as she walked into the living room.
