Chapter 1 - His beastly side

Blood.

A lot of blood.

The sight of it. The stench of it, all made my stomach churn and my throat itchy from the inside.

I wanted to run. To get as far away from here as possible. But my body....why wasn't it listening to me? If I stayed here any longer, I'd also end up among the pile of corpses littering the floor around my feet.

'I have to run. Crawling is also fine. So please, please God, save me from this. I promise I'll be a good person!' I cried in my heart, paralyzed by fear.

A distant clanking penetrated my ears yet I still couldn't move even the smallest part of my body. My eyes were a breath away from popping out as I stared at the horrific scene.

"Look who's here. If it isn't the betrayer's little sister!" A venomous hiss came from the dark side of this strange basement that was fit to be called a dungeon.

That voice! It instantly ignited a memory from the recent past...three years ago.

Knock-knock-knock!

"Kally? Could you please open the door?" Aya, my older sister, requested politely.

"We have a guest, could you please dress up and-"

I unlocked and opened the door, a displeased look surfacing. "Who is it? I'm not in the mood for one of those clowns from Mom's office."

"Hush!" Aya shot a glare. She quickly looked around her before pushing her way into my room, pushing me along.

Once we were in, she shut and locked the door. "This one is not a regular man. He's the son of the owner of Blaze Corporation."

I just stared at her, having not a single clue what on earth Blaze Corporation was.

As if understanding my blank expression, Aya grasped my hand and pulled me to my bed then sat us down. "This is a multinational corporation that sponsors other companies, including the one mom works at."

"So they deal with just anything? Even so, why is such an 'important' person doing in our 'humble' home?" I asked, sarcasm dripping from my tone.

Either she missed it or just chose to ignore it.

"About that..." A shy smile stretched out her lips. "We kind of met at some bar. I swear, I had no idea who he was then. He, um, he proposed to me yesterday and we're here to-"

"Whoa! Pause right there!" I cried jerking away from her. "Proposed?!"

"Yes. You know, the kind of thing that comes before a marri-"

I rolled my eyes. "I'm fifteen! Of course I know what a damn proposal means. But Aya-" I took her hands in mine. The pure happiness flooding her black eyes felt genuine and it made me jealous. What kind of man would sweep my sister off her feet like this?

"-Does this not sound a bit off? I mean, a man of his status should go for women from his class, no offense."

Aya just laughed. Her bubbly laugh was heartwarming.

She spent the next five minutes talking me out of my judgment and urged me to go meet him in person. Without much of a choice, I ended up following her downstairs.

Tanned skin, a lean muscular frame even with his suit on, short blond hair held back in a half ponytail, a firm jawline that had not a single hair in sight, dark blue eyes that looked both cold and warm...he was beautiful. That was the first thought that came to mind as I approached the coach he sat on, with Aya by my side.

When our eyes connected, an odd dread enveloped my heart. He possessed a kind of dangerous aura hidden under the layers of his pleasing face and body.

And then he stood up to tower over me by at least ten inches, his eyes boring through mine as if intimidating my soul to hold back any negativity I was to show. He was dangerous. Dangerously beautiful and dangerous dreadful.

"Hello there, little sister!" He smirked down at me and a wave of dense fear instantly descended upon my heart.
