Chapter 94 - Chapter 93

Emiya residence.

It's been two days since I've been back. As it turned out, it had only been a week here, and there hadn't been much change. Everything was still roughly the same as when I left: all the same residents, all the same daily activities, and all the same story arc. And while that was the case, I preferred to give all my time to rest.

Goetia returned to my body, but occasionally left it to spend leisure time with Runeas and Rea-chan, chatting mostly about the Underworld and its history. The servants belonging to the legend of King Arthur organized sit-downs amongst themselves. They were even occasionally joined by Morgan, but she was mostly silent as Merlin explained to me.

Emiya, Medusa, and Artoria went on dates and such. Heracles and Lancelot were sparring amongst themselves, Enkidu and Gilgamesh were traveling, and the Assassins were doing my bidding on surveillance. Alaya, on the other hand, like Fou, was busy doing nothing. Since she decided to fully play the role of a schoolgirl and it's vacation, her routine consisted of "eat", "play", and "sleep".

Among something special, only a couple of letters arrived at Emiya's residence and were addressed to me personally.

The sender of the first was Yasaka, whom I had, frankly, completely forgotten about. She invited me for a cup of tea, which could be considered a light date. Apparently, she had already solved internal issues and wanted to discuss them with me.

The second letter was sent by Michael. In it he informs me that soon representatives of Heaven will come to my house and asks me to accommodate them. Michael argued that in this way it would be convenient to keep in touch with the Heavens, and since I "agreed" sometimes to give advice to the Heavenly faction, I had nothing to do but to give my tacit consent. Apparently this was what Zelretch was talking about when he mentioned increasing the number of rooms.

After eating dinner together, the residents went about their business, and only Rea-chan and I remained in the house. Tia decided to visit Tiamat, taking Ophis with her. As she said, to organize a family reunion. Well, I guess she missed her. Let her have her fun.

After a bit of thought, I increased the size of the residence due to the decent amount of occupants. Mostly, it affected the kitchen, the bathroom, now turned into a full-fledged bath, and the rest of the common areas. Even if the Servants didn't need all that, they were no strangers to the comforts and pleasures of everyday life.

As the fourth cup of coffee was pouring down my throat, the doorbell suddenly rang.

- Hmm? Who's that at this hour? - I raised an eyebrow and gave a short nod to Rea-chan. Seeing my gesture, she made a short bow and went to open the door.

She returned a few seconds later, and right behind her were Sona and Tsubaki, who walked inside and sat down across from me. Sona looked serious. More serious than usual. Apparently, the case she had come with required special attention.

- What is it, Sona? What's with the late visits to the house of a grown, handsome and charming man like me? What will your parents think when they find out about this? - I began cheerfully.

- For the sake of my honor and dignity, which you definitely do not have, I'll ignore your obvious provocation and get to the point, - she said businesslike and adjusted her glasses - The day after tomorrow there will be a reception at Lord Lucifer's castle. It will be attended by the heirs of the clans and representatives of the Scandinavian faction.

- Let me guess, Sirzechs wants me there, right? - I asked, to which Sona nodded in agreement - And when did you become the liaison between me and the demons? That summit thing and this reception thing.

- I don't mind being a liaison if it benefits my race," Sona shrugged in an ungirlish way, "And that's not the only reason I'm here.

- Oh? Is there something else?

In response to my words, she slipped her hand into her pocket and pulled out a pink, glitter-covered envelope sealed with a yellow star, then placed it on the table. And from that appearance, I knew perfectly well which personality it belonged to.

- Serafall? What does she want?

- I don't know. She only asked me to give the letter to you.

- Should I burn it, my king? - Rea-chan asked, looking at the envelope in disgust.

- I would ask you not to. Even with the personality my sister has, she is still a Demon Lord. Let Romani-sensei at least read it, and then do whatever you want.'' - Sona said with a tired sigh.

- Well, that makes sense," I said, scratching my chin and taking a sip of coffee, "Is that it?

- Almost. I'd like to know if training with Archer-sensei will resume? My entourage is already used to him.

- Nope. Not anytime soon, anyway. Like Rias, you'll have another teacher, but I don't know which one yet. There will be training, though. I can promise you that.

- Although it's not exactly what I wanted to hear, it would be idiotic to refuse to be mentored by ancient heroes," she said, wiping her eyelids and getting up from the couch, "In that case, my business is done. Good night, Romani-sensei.

- You too, So-tan. - I said cheerfully, and got a twitch of her eyebrow.

Then a blue magic circle lit up beneath Sona and Tsubaki, in a flash of which they subsequently disappeared, and it was just me and Rea-chan in the living room again.

- Are you really going to read this garbage? - Leviathan's descendant asked with a grin.

- Well, just to read it, I think it's worth it. I won't go blind," I grinned and put the envelope in my pocket, "But tomorrow. Go get some rest, Rea-chan. Talking to Goetia must really suck the soul out of you.

- I heard you, Romani. - came a voice in my head, full of irritation.

- No, you didn't. His Majesty is quite a pleasant conversationalist. His words have a depth and wisdom that keeps you from getting bored or tired. - Rea-chan shook her head.

- By the way, somehow I didn't find the time to ask, but what can you say about Runeas? After all, you were able to talk to one of the original ones.

- Hmm..." she pondered, "I guess you could say that's about what I expected. A bored and powerful demoness looking for something to relieve her boredom. But it's nice to spend time with her without any unsubstantiated statements or pompousness.

- I see. Well, I'm glad you do. - I said and yawned. I'm going to bed. Unless something special happens, I will not be awakened.

- As you say, my king.

At these words I got up and headed to my room.

The reception is the day after tomorrow, which means I can do something useful. Tomorrow I should go to Azazel's and check on Da Vinci. I haven't heard from her in a while. Besides, I'd forgotten what I'd asked her and the Governor General of the Fallen to do.

Maybe they'll work something out, and now it's time to rest. "The morning is the morning," huh?

A while later.

I woke up suddenly in the middle of the night, feeling someone crawl into bed with me. Of course, my first assumption was Tia, that she liked to do that if we lay down at different times. So without thinking long enough and without opening my eyes, I pulled my hand out from under the covers and placed it on top of Tia's head. However...

Where are the horns? Shouldn't they be around here somewhere?

And the moment I didn't find them, my eyes opened abruptly and lowered to where I could feel someone else's breath. And there, in my bed, right next to me, was a certain Fairy Queen sniffing peacefully.

What the fuck?! Why is Morgan here?! Doesn't she have her own room?!

I could have expected this from anyone, even Runeas or Aika, but not her. This situation is as unrealistic and insane as it could possibly be. A far more realistic event would be Azazel suddenly starting to act completely like Michael.

And while I was racking my brain, I suddenly felt another presence in my room. And directing my gaze in his direction, I saw Merlin standing quietly next to my bed, looking at Morgan.

- I wanted to be indignant when Caster put his index finger to his mouth in a gesture of silence. But it wasn't that that stopped me, it was his rather serious face, compared to the one he usually shows. Morgan frowned a little, but seemed to be still asleep. I don't even want to think about what would happen to me if she woke up. You never know what will come into Berserker's head.

And again, what the hell are you doing in my room, hmm?!
