Chapter 16 - Awakening Ceremony. Unprecedented Outcomes.

 In the clinic...

The new set of Naturae awakeners, the feverish Echo and the clinic loving Kaiden could be seen on beds with the only exception being Echo, who was in a medical pod while they accessed his situation.

Kaiden appeared okay. Just some hours rest, probably by the next day, he would be moving like nothing happened. The rest though, were a bit different, as in, their awakening traits, being it enhancement or appearance.

Greg appeared the same just that his skin had turned darker but brown, his hair had taken on a brighter sheen and green leaf-like tattoos could be seen on his right hand. They coiled around his hand like vines from his index fingers up his arms, ending at his shoulder. They glowed occasionally in green. The tattoos actually looked like the leaves of the cosmic tree symbol which appeared on his awakening. He released a comfortable and soothing aura which was unlike the previously screaming boy.

April looked just as she was, but her aura had changed. She now released a cold and chilling aura which was laced with a bit of intent. Her skin had also turned a bit whiter like she had been kept in a refrigerator and her hair had become an icy white color.

Belthrox's skin had turned a bit darker, his brown hair had gained a bright sheen with strands of red in it. He released a fierce aura which was gentle and warm at the same time. His face was rather calm and composed.

Dillian seemed like a whole new person with the greyish blue scales on his neck down to his shoulders. His ears had grown a bit paler with visible waves around it. Suddenly, blood started flowing from his ears causing the nurses to rush to his side.

"I think his trait is acting up. Doctor Patrick!"

"Yes... quickly cover his ears!"

"Doctor what's wrong?"

"Nothing serious. His trait makes his ears sensitive to sound and he needs to block as much sound as possible otherwise, it can damage his ears. I will request to Captain Liam to see to it that anything that can keep their traits in check, be worked on immediately before they can control it. For now, keep his ears covered and block as much sound as possible." Doctor Patrick said while typing some things on his tablet.

"Okay."

Bradley had the least changes. He had just become a bit taller and that was all. He was still fat and huge. The most noteworthy change about him was his aura which screamed of mischief, like he was the most savage person in the world. It sent chills down the spines of all who were around him. In the whole ward, he had the least number of nurses around him.

Then lastly, the guy who had been in the clinic two times in a single day, each time unconscious, Kaiden. He still looked like he was previously after his awakening but now he was releasing a mysterious aura which was both dark and saintly. On one part, he was like a saint and on the other, he was like a devil, confusing the expects who were taking care of him.

The situation of Echo was also unknown.

...

The next day, Awakening Ceremony...

Within the esteemed walls of the Valor Institute of Authority which stands as a beacon of excellence, nurturing the next generation of leaders, a transformative ritual is about to unfold.

The arena of the Valor Institute pulsed with electric anticipation, its ancient stones bearing witness to countless moments of triumph and transformation. Today, the cadet 1st years would gather within its revered space for the Awakening Ceremony, a time-honored tradition that would forever alter the course of their lives.

As the air vibrated with expectation, the cadets stood poised on the threshold of discovery, their hearts racing with the promise of unlocking their hidden potential. For in this world, every human possessed a dormant power, waiting to be unleashed. The Awakening Ceremony was the key, igniting the spark that would awaken their true abilities and set them on the path to greatness.

The arena, a crucible of courage and determination, would once again bear witness to the dawn of new heroes. The ceremony was about to begin, and the fate of the cadets would be forever changed.

The arena falls silent as Wilian Dregan, a dignified figure with a commanding presence, steps forward. His piercing blue eyes survey the cadets, his silver hair cropped short, accentuating his chiseled features. He wears a formal white attire, adorned with subtle golden trimmings that hint at his affinity for the Light element. A soft, ethereal glow surrounds him, a testament to his mastery.

Wilian Dregan:

"Cadets, esteemed faculty, and honored guests, I welcome you to the Awakening Ceremony. Today, we gather to witness the dawn of a new era, as these young minds unlock their hidden potential. The Awakening is a sacred tradition, a moment of transformation that will forever change the course of their lives."

His voice resonates through the arena, filled with gravitas and authority.

Wilian Dregan:

"Let us begin this momentous journey, as we bear witness to the unveiling of their true selves. May the elements guide them, and may their hearts be filled with the light of discovery."

With a subtle gesture, Wilian Dregan raises his hand, and a brilliant beam of light erupts from his palm. The radiance envelops him, and he begins to ascend, his figure shimmering with an ethereal glow. The cadets watch in awe as he rises above the stage, his presence dissolving into a sea of light.

Fading into the brilliance "May the Awakening begin!"

The light vanishes, leaving behind an empty stage, and the ceremony proceeds, bathed in an atmosphere of wonder and anticipation.

...

Wilian appeared high above a platform on which Captain Lola sat the previous day to judge the cadets' duel. Personnel clad in black sci-fi looking armor from top to down, leaving no part exposed surrounded the stage, their presence a mystery to the cadets. High above the stands, in the large VIP room, powerful presences had gathered to watch the rebirth of the next generation. The headmaster, also the right hand and the next-in-command to the Supreme Commander sat on the largest chair which looked almost like a throne. Around him sat representatives of all the noble families, sects and clans in the world. Among these representatives were four family heads, three out the 5 great families and one from one of the smaller noble families.

"Lord Sylvia Darkmoon." The headmaster greeted a lady with short black hair and sharp blue eyes behind a black plain mask. She wore a black turtleneck sweater with black skirt, black stockings and black shiny boots. Her presence was really domineering almost on par with the heads of the 5 great families there. As a matter of fact, she was considered as the head of the 6th great family indirectly.

"Lord Fernand Kaneko." a man in a blue kimono with long black hair and blue eyes nodded towards the headmaster. He appeared to be of the muscular kind but with seriously strange baby face.

"Lord Gregory Oak." a dark-skinned man with a striking resemblance to Greg nodded with a beautiful smile. Unlike Greg, his hair was rather short with a single braided long ponytail lying on his shoulder. A small green four-leaf clover tattoo could be seen on his forehead. He wore beach clothes: a green flowery designed shirt, shorts, white socks and black crocs with beautiful tree designs.

"Lord Arcturus Arkonius," a tall man with dirty blonde short hair and brown eyes nodded with a charming smile. He held a striking resemblance to Kaiden and Echo, seeming like their older brother. He wore similar clothes to Lord Gregory, a brown flowery designed shirt, shorts, white socks, and black crocs with comet designs on it. They appeared to be on a vacation, not a serious gathering causing most of the people around them to have expressions of annoyance on their faces but none of them expressed it openly. They weren't fools or idiots to antagonize the two strongest people right behind the emperor, the old Lords, the Supreme Commander and his right-hand men. It could be said to be that they were the strongest in their generation right after the older generation, the old men in the emperor's generation. The weakest in the old generation were the right-hand men of the Supreme Commander and these two people were almost close to their levels. They weren't that stupid to try looking for death with these two maniacs.

...

The Awakening Ceremony had begun with a cadet moving up the stage.
