It was late evening. The coffee shop was busy. Yet, Sophia called Brian. There were some minor hiccups she had noticed. They had to correct it soon. She asked the staff to stay back and work up the plan to handle the weekend. They would certainly recieve overtime.
The miniatures had to be served while they waited for the drinks. Once drinks come, advice which other food would be a good match for that drink. If the customers are friends or bunch of people, advice to go for platter to make a choice later on. For dates, have to prepare couple menu. That would take time, but a special menu, a red rose bud on the vase, candle bulbs would be basic for a couple table. If the customer wants customisation, it would cost a bit more. Couple menus would have two set of items in each plate. It can be sweet and sweet, sweet and spicy, sweet and sour, crispy and soft, crispy and crispy, any combo but it should be a combo. All the visual ques towards two, a couple. Brian noted the suggestions. They would brainstorm based on this matter and expand from there.
"Grab as much of boxes and cups as possible. The chances are they'll eat and carry a lot more this weekend. Get the people in prep to make more."
"I'll call them to make twice the amount." Brian said.
Sophia scoffed. Inspite of owning a coffee shop near the school, he didn't understand how their network worked.
"Call them and make all the items four times of what they did today. Five times would be better. They'll work through out the weekend and will get break only when weekday starts."
"Four times? Five times? Isn't it too much? These things can't be stored for long."
"They won't be. You'll be sold out. I don't want any negative pressure due to being sold out. It's easy to get things exaggerated. Tell you what, ask they to make items five times the usual. Whatever the amount remains, I'll pay twice that to your account as bonus. But if any of the items is sold out, you'll give all the money we made from that item to me as gift."
"That's....very unbalanced."
" It favours you."
"No, it favours you. Sold out items should be five. And yes, I'll pay whatever the amount we earn tomorrow from those five items will be in your account."
Sophia really didn't want to trick Brian. The renovation and rebranding, they had eaten her savings. She could swipe her card in the coffee shop because Brian had put that much money on her card. She was that close to being broke.
But the concert was on Sunday evening. She needed some money in the card for emergencies.
Lexia Windsor prefered sundays to saturdays. She found it accidentally. Otherwise, all the academy concerts happened on Friday or saturday nights. This was first time the concert was happening on sunday early evening.
The weekend would be spent on getting ready for the concert. The gown was getting last checkup after refitting. There was facials and spa treatment to relax her. Then her usual weekend piano practice. Never mind the fact that, most of the Hart ladies would be using one or the other refitter, if needed. Few were blessed with model bodies. The spa treatment was sponsered by Hart Industries Ltd to conclude some important deal. If that is not included as business expenses, how can Harts pay for the treatments?
Sophia laid down on the bed after checking upon latest updates on commodity stocks. She had already lost in two stocks. She was just waiting for five more. Even one hit among seven shots fired, she would be satisfied. Her aim was starting to take place. The fact that the returns were at the rate to twenty to fifty times has no link to it.
Saturday morning.
Sophia woke up at five o' clock, though she slept late. She could never sleep for long after her accident. Few exercises within her room, then her classwork and homework. She didn't have time to do it yesterday night.
She was searching for other legit ways to earn massive amount of money within few days or weeks.
Soon it was time for breakfast. Nathan Hart was going to have some nice chat with some businessmen over the golf course. Hint- he was weak in golf. But first, a quick visit to office was must. He was always worried that his brother would choose the time he would be out of office to cause mayhem.
The shopping and spa would start late. So Sophia excused herself and left to academy to practice. She would join others from there.
"Sophia, we have a perfectly tuned piano at home. Practice here. No need to run around so much." Chloe said.
"Sis, what mother is saying is right. I get so afraid when you are not at home or school. I still get nightmares about your accident." Steve added.
Steve. Had. Nightmares.
Chloe only heard that part and she had to hold herself back from booking all the psychiatrists available for immediate consultation. She didn't focus on what Shirley was saying. By the time, she snapped back, she heard Sophia's reply though.
"As much as I would like to, I can't. I still feel I can do a bit better but I need someone to comment for me each time. This is my first time after accident. Guess I am still nervous."
Chloe said, "The doctors said you are perfectly normal now, baby. No need to worry. You are still doing your rehabilitation exercises. And you are practicing so much. Don't worry, you'll do well. Mama has full belief in you."
She was a good mother. She had bias but she never tried to be obvious about it. Infact, she tried to curb that bias. She was indeed a good mother.
That made the betrayal all the worse. Sophia could not longer stand the love, care and affection shown by this family. She had to get away from them. Fast.
What sort of monsters are they that even young ones can pretend so well. Sophia's emotions were running around, so she left with just few words.
"Hmm. Looks like she is still worried." Chloe commented.
"She is recovering. Everyone knows that. Even if you make mistakes, no one is going to call you out." Steve was baffled. Apparently girls can't lose face, only men can do that. Go figure. Ever met a non judgemental lady? Even if she is not saying it doesn't mean she is not judging it. Steve still had lots of growing up to do if he has to fight against Peter or Phillip, his cousins.
