"Let's dive back into the story."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Several days passed by.

During these days, Yu Xiaogang's training regimen continued unabated.

Tang San endured immense suffering each day.

Not only was he forced to run fifty laps until he coughed up blood, but his daily meals were also extremely poor.

While others enjoyed meat to replenish their strength, Tang San's meals consisted only of vegetables and steamed buns.

Tang San's figure grew thinner day by day, shrinking significantly.

One day,

Tang San could no longer bear it and approached his master.

"Teacher, why is this happening?" he asked, aggrieved.

Yu Xiaogang, busy contemplating new ways to torment Tang San, didn't grasp his meaning immediately and looked at him in confusion.

Tang San, frustrated, clarified, "Why do Dai Mubai and the others get to eat meat, while I only get vegetables and steamed buns?"

Yu Xiaogang understood.

Ah, so it was about that. He had anticipated this question and replied with a tone full of wisdom, "Little San, this is for your own good!"

Tang San was bewildered.

Training him to the brink of death might be beneficial, he could believe that. But depriving him of medicinal baths and decent food?

How could that possibly be for his good?

Seeing his disciple's confusion, Yu Xiaogang explained, "Little San, there's an old saying: 'Endure hardship to rise above others.'"

"Another proverb states, 'Heaven bestows great responsibilities on those who endure great hardships.' I am honing your willpower."

Tang San: "..."

"But Dai Mubai and the others..."

"They are them."

Yu Xiaogang interrupted impatiently, "They are not my disciples. You are. You are the one I care about the most."

"Teacher..."

Tang San looked at Yu Xiaogang, deeply moved.

Yu Xiaogang waved his hand, "Go back and rest well. Training will continue."

"Yes!"

Tang San, somewhat reassured, left.

However, upon further reflection, he felt something was amiss.

His training was twice as intense as Dai Mubai's, yet he only ate vegetables and steamed buns. Could his strength keep up?

He glanced at his arms, which were now skin and bones.

Meanwhile, after Tang San left, Yu Xiaogang's expression darkened.

"It seems my previous methods of torture were too mild. I'll have to step up my game."

Yu Xiaogang muttered to himself.

Daring to question him?

He had not wanted this initially.

But now, seeing his disciple growing disobedient, he had no choice.

Previously, Tang San would follow his instructions without hesitation.

But now...

The next day,

After completing his fifty laps of weighted running, a fainting Tang San dragged his exhausted body to the cafeteria.

He ate the vegetables and steamed buns Yu Xiaogang had prepared for him.

However, halfway through the meal, Tang San suddenly felt a sharp pain in his stomach.

His face changed, and he rushed to the latrine.

This continued for several days.

Tang San had diarrhea for days on end, leaving him almost entirely debilitated.

Afterward, Tang San tried to investigate who might have drugged him.

But he found nothing.

His food was handled solely by his teacher, untouched by anyone else.

And in his mind, his teacher would never harm him.

Thus, he didn't suspect Yu Xiaogang.

The matter remained unresolved.

By this point, Tang San had grown even more emaciated.

Yet the training continued.

Tang San's suffering had only just begun.

Yu Xiaogang's diary of torturing Tang San grew thicker.

Three months passed in the blink of an eye.

Tang San and the others gathered once more in Shrek Academy's square.

Seeing Tang San's current state, Dai Mubai and the others frowned.

Tang San looked half-dead, his body reduced to skin and bones, with heavy dark circles under his eyes, barely resembling a human.

Dai Mubai, displeased, said, "Little San, didn't we agree to train hard to save people? How can you not endure even a bit of training? How will we ever be strong enough to rescue anyone?"

"Indeed! Even I, a support-type spirit master, managed to persevere. Look at yourself, so frail!" Oscar added.

Ma Hongjun chimed in, "Tang San, you didn't sneak off to the brothel, did you? No wonder you look so drained!"

"You, you all..."

Tang San's face flushed with anger. "How dare you say that? My training load is twice yours, and I only eat vegetables and steamed buns. I don't have the energy."

"That's not all. Someone even drugged me, causing me to have diarrhea for days. Otherwise, how could I be in this state?"

Cough cough~

Yu Xiaogang coughed twice, looking slightly guilty.

To satisfy Su Bai, Yu Xiaogang had spent the last three months devising various ways to torture Tang San.

Therefore, Tang San's current condition was entirely Yu Xiaogang's doing.

Dai Mubai, feeling awkward, said, "Master is doing this for your own good!"

They had noticed that Tang San only ate vegetables and steamed buns daily.

They endured because they had enough meat and Oscar's sausages to replenish their strength.

But Tang San had none of that.

Reflecting on this, Dai Mubai wondered if Tang San was truly Yu Xiaogang's disciple.

Why did it seem like the master was trying to torment Tang San to death?

Otherwise, why such treatment?

Regardless, even with such intense training, Yu Xiaogang should have ensured Tang San had better food.

Why only vegetables and steamed buns?

But this was a matter between master and disciple, and Dai Mubai felt it wasn't his place to intervene.

Oscar and Ma Hongjun shared similar thoughts.

Tang San, feeling helpless, thought his teacher seemed to have changed.

Lately, it felt less like training and more like torture.

But lacking evidence, he could only believe Yu Xiaogang truly had his best interests at heart.

He tried to console himself with this thought.

Yet his skeletal frame told a different story.

Cough cough!

Yu Xiaogang's cough interrupted their conversation. He changed the subject, saying, "I gathered you all here today to inform you that Shrek Academy is out of funds."

What!?

Everyone was shocked.

Out of money?

With such intense training, how could they cope without proper food?

Yu Xiaogang raised his hand to quiet them and continued, "However, Flender and I have discussed it. We decided that Shrek Academy will join the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy."

Great!

Now they would have a better life.

Oscar and the others were elated.

They knew that the Heaven Dou Imperial Academy was the largest academy in the Heaven Dou Empire.

The food there must be excellent.

And as geniuses, they would surely be well-treated.

Tang San was slightly pleased as well.

Would this mean no more training?

Yu Xiaogang seemed to read Tang San's thoughts and sternly said, "Though we've decided, it will be three months before we move..."

"So, you all must continue training for the next few months..."

Continue?

Tang San's face turned pale...
