Chereads / Goush: The tale of Noah / Chapter 2 - Disturbing night

Chapter 2 - Disturbing night

-Bam!

During the silent and peaceful night suddenly a loud noise of something breaking could be heard.

Noah who was a light sleeper instantly up because of the loud sound.

He got up from his bed and waited for a while but since there was no movement he decided to go and check the hallway.

Right after opening the door he noticed that it was a little to dark then it should be and there was a wierd smell, it was nauseating, so much that he almost threw up the food he had eaten earlier.

It didn't take long for him understand what it was, it was the same smell as the one in the study, blood.

Just that right now it was less heavier so it was hard to notice.

Noah turned around and tried to turn on the lights but for some reason they weren't working.

He thought that maybe it was because this family turned off the power before going to sleep to save money, consoling himself that it was not for some other specific reason.

He decided go and grab the candelabra which was supposed to be on top of the sidedrawer, but when he got nearer he suddenly felt a wierd and undescribable feeling, he felt uncomfortable so he decided to hurry up.

But who would have thought that when he got there it wasn't there.

He suddenly panicked like any normal person and felt goosebumps all over his arms, it was terrifying and to make it worse he suddenly heard someone breathing next to him.

He wanted to scream but his instincts told him that if he did he wouldn't see tomorrow.

He was perplexed this was the first time something like this had happened to him, normally the ghost would just show himself after one or two hours.

Gathering courage he looked back only to see a woman really close to his face holding the candelabra, it was his "wife".

She was really pale so much that she almost seemed like dead and her eyes were really red it looked like she had just cried.

"What were you doing? Why didn't you come back earlier?"

These were the first words that came out of Noah's mouth, he himself was quite surprised at how naturally he handled the situation, it seemed like he had a talent for surviving disasters.

It seemed like the "wife" was quite taken aback.

"I had to do something...why aren't you sleeping?"

She had quite creepy and frightening look on her face, so horrible that she almost looked like a demon.

Well she wasn't anything different form it in the first place, thought Noah to himself.

Most likely she was the ghost he was looking for, it wasn't hard to guess.

But the biggest problem was how to eat her, like stated previously normally the ghost just surrender without doing anything.

Unfortunately the situation right now was diffrent.

He did have an idea for what to do but maybe right now wasn't the best place to think it thorough, just looking at her he felt like his limbs would give up at any moment.

"Umm...I woke up because I was quite thirsty but then I heard a sound of something breaking..."

Hearing those words the wife suddenly started laughing like she heard something amusing and said it was probably his imagination.

Punting the candelabra on the bedside table, she toke of her shawl and got on her bed.

Noticing that Noah was just standing there in a daze, she asked "Why aren't you getting on the bed? Oh right, do you want some water? That's why you got ip in the first place, right?"

Flustered Noah suddenly toke two big steps and got in the cold and hard bed which had a thin quilt that didn't match the weather.

"Nope! I'm not thirsty, I don't need water anymore, let's go to sleep!" said Noah with a quivering voice.

"Really?" asked the female who turned her face to Noah's side with her eyes which looked like they were going to pop out.

"Yup!" Replied Noah feeling the cold sweat on his back.

The woman looked at him silently for a moment then finally turned around.

Seeing this, Noah finally relaxed.

He had noticed that when his "wife" got angry, her complexion would change and become worse then the one at the dinner table.

For him it was a pity he couldn't check what had happened outside, but looking on his side he changed his thought, maybe it was for the better.

The next morning he woke early thanks to the sun light coming from the window, noticing that he didn't die last night during his sleep, he felt quite energetic.

He decided to open the window to get some fresh air, but upon opening it, the first thing he noticed was that the exterior of the house unexpectedly changed!

He had a feeling that it was related to the ghosts mood.

Of course he didn't want experiment it right now.

Looking at the house he concluded that this family was probably quite well off.

But thinking about the female's in the house, he interpreted that the reason for the ghosts death was probably an internel conflict.

While thinking about everything in the shower he suddenly noticed long black hair in the drain...

Just thinking about the fact that he was living with a ghost, he felt uncomfortable looking at them.

Yup, his first instinct was to run away and that what he did not wasting a single second.

He did not even want think what would happen if he had stayed there a little second longer.

"I really want to get out of here."

Spoke Noah to himself.

"Why?"

Suddenly asked a voice behind him.

Surprised Noah quickly turned his head around, and as expected it was his "wife".

"Oh I'm feeling just feeling a little nauseas so I wanted to go outside."

"I see, if your going outside why don't buy grocery as well.

Here the list of stuff you need to get.

And remember to get your wallet it's in tge drawer near the door."

As the wife finished her last sentence she left the room.

"Wow that was totally unexpected..."

Said Noah singing softly.

Thinking, Noah though it wasn't a bad idea, this was an opportunity to get to know more the family, maybe it was a good way to find out how to get out.

---

After walking around the market place for about an hour, he still couldn't find any clues about the family.

He was starting to get anxious and annoyed.

Although the list of food to get was long he knew he couldn't stay out more than 3 to 4 hours, it just wouldn't have made sense.

Just as he was about to give up he heard someone say "Don't you think that the Kifo family is wierd?"

Excited and curious to hear the name he had read on the nameplate of the mailbox, Noah got closer to eavesdrop.

"Your right, I mean who in their right mind would marry someone 20 years younger than yourself.

That stupid old man." said an old lady with quite an interesting hairstyle.

"So true! And his son is even worse.

I'm pretty sure he beats up his wife!"

"Oh!" gasped the the woman with the interesting hairstyle.

"Do you you know that a few days ago I saw the son's wife kissing her bother-in-law!

Can you believe it?

Even if her husband isn't the best she can't do that."

Hearing this Noah frowned, he felt his heart being filled with rage.

He felt disgusted hearing those old women's conversation.

If they knew about the family's situation why didn't they try to do anything.

Even if this wasn't reality, since it was something that the Goush created it must have already happened.

Feeling angry he decided to leave.

During his way back he was in deep thought, it wasn't the first time he had seen people like this.

Similar stuff had happened with him while he was in the orphanage, it was normal for people to ignore injustice, who wanted to get in trouble themselves, but he just couldn't get used to it.

Thud!

Suddenly Noah bumped into someone, it was someone tall and muscular.

He looked up to see the man, he had dusty brown hair with black and grayish eyes.

He was probably a quite good-looking but it seemed like he didn't take care of himself for a while because he looked the opposite of someone handsome, infact it looked like he hadn't even cut his beard for a long time or changed his clothes.

"I'm sorry." said Noah.

"Oh, don't worry about that I got infront of you purposely." said the man smiling.

Hearing this Noah gave a confused expression.

"What do you mean?" asked Noah curiously.

"Just as I said. I'm trying to help you."

"Help?" Now Noah wasn't confused but he was getting agitated.

"How do I put it easily...

Ah I know!

A few weeks ago you found a woman whose soul was occupied by a Goush.

You who had found his new pray, was really happy.

So you followed her for a few days waiting for the right moment and when you noticed that the samsara was weak, you entered it.

But yesterday when you came here you noticed that this place was diffrent from the usual one.

So today you decided to go out and find more information on the family thinking that the Goush maybe wanted you to know their story or something like that, right?"

Shocked at hearing the man's words, Noah stared to feal nervous.

"You h-"

Before Noah could say anything he was interrupted by the man.

"Wait I still haven't finished yet.

Let me tell you what's going on.

Right now the Goush your trying to find isn't here, but a worse form of a Goush.

These things are formed by the immense hatred of the person who they were when they were alive.

They tend to live in a samsara or simply put an infinite loop of the worst parts of their lives.

They like to bait naive newbies like you who think they caught a big fish."

Hearing himself being criticised like this Noah couldn't help but get angry and frustrated so much that clenched his hand till they turned pale.

Though it was the truth he didn't want to just admit it like that.

"That...it's not true..." said Noah feeling lots of emotion at that moment.

"Heh. Typical reaction.

Didn't you notice something wierd when you were following the woman."

said the man scoffing.

Thinking about what the man said Noah remembered how the woman didn't come to consciousness when fell down repeatedly, but unexpectedly when he hit her she suddenly became well.

Noticing it now Noah couldn't help but because so flustered that his face became red.

"Stupid." said the man.

"Take this whip, it's the only weapon i have left but it's the only thing that can kill it, but be sure to murder the right one.

Most of the times there are some clues about who the Goush is, because in the end this is a part of their memories."

Hearing the word murder, unexpectedly Noah became anxious and his face turned pale.

He had never killed a Goush, the most he had done was go near it...

"Haa" sighed the man.

"If you can't do that then atleast be mentally prepared to die."

Hearing this Noah trembled slightly and said

"Why...why are you helping me?" looking at him straight in the eyes.

"It's not just you. I'm just trying to find new talent." as the man finished his sentence suddenly a strong wind started blowing, forcing Noah to close his eyes, when he opened them back the man was gone, leaving the whip on the ground.

Noah picked it up and the stood there in a daze muttering a certain word "Thank you..."
